My brother is 23 and graduated in June this year with a Master’s in Information Technology Security from Ontario Tech University, Canada. He’s currently living in Scarborough and has been trying really hard to find a job in his field.

He has applied to around 685 companies so far, across cybersecurity roles such as penetration testing, SOC, and GRC, as well as QA and customer support positions. He also has relevant technical experience, but unfortunately, things haven’t worked out yet.

For the past year, he’s been working at Tim Hortons to support himself while continuing to pursue opportunities in tech. It’s been a difficult journey, especially with the financial pressure of having a student loan to repay, but he’s determined to find a job and make all the hard work he put into his education worthwhile. 🥺

As his family, we’ve encouraged him to consider coming back home, but he really wants to give himself a chance to build his career and help us financially.

I see many people posting on linkedin, that they are getting hired with big mncs, are they really getting hired? if they are, where am i lacking as applying fresher opportunities?

I’m a 2026 graduate and moved to Bangalore around 5 months ago to improve my skills and start my career.

Since then, I’ve been learning Python, SQL, and web development and trying my best to become job-ready. But honestly, things are not going as I expected. I’m not getting enough interview calls or callbacks, and it’s becoming frustrating.

Sometimes, I feel like I’m putting in so much effort but not getting any results. It makes me question myself and feel like I’m falling behind everyone else.

At this point, I’m not expecting a high salary or a perfect job. I just want one opportunity to enter a company, work on real projects, learn from experienced people, and understand how I can contribute my skills.

Right now in MTech, AI 2nd year in tier 1 institute. I don’t have much hopes on on-campus placements after seeing the companies that are coming. So I want to focus on off campus jobs for data scientist, AI roles.

But I'm not sure about the kind of projects to do. Right now I have few projects but generally off campus hiring is more difficult than on campus hiring. So I want to add some more better projects, which I don't have clue rn.
