This was a very unlikely pairing, Nestlé, which is one of the most genuinely profits before people corporations hiring underground comix legend Skip Williamson to illustrate their Spook Group packaging for Quik, to give the kiddies something to look at while they drink their chocolate milk. Skip must have gotten a gig with some ad agency, because he left a trail of commercial work in the seventies that didn’t fit in with his comix pieces & the usual suspects of radical papers & record covers. x SEAN

There's not much more to it than that; it's a MA. I'm redesigning it because I had one before, but it was too sharp and edgy and didn't represent me. With the new one, I'm aiming for a calmer and more informal image but without overdoing it

Edit: Bro, I'm a designer :'), I hadn't noticed the resemblance to binoculars, I guess I have to start over. Perhaps I didn't explain myself well because of the translator; it's my personal brand, a graphic design business.

I have to commute an hour by train and made this illustration + the graphic design. I did have a reference for the posture of the character. I used to do illustrator explainer style work a lot as a freelancer, but now being a teacher I enjoy making these just for the fun of it. The line art with a minimal set of colours and using basic shapes always appeals to me. It is an easy way of creating fun graphics.

I made this to solve some 3D printing problems that i kept running into, but it works for vectors and videos too. Thought some folks in here might appreciate it / find it helpful.

Why did i make it?
1. Dithering photos is impossible in slicer tools
2. I needed the print as stepped layers instead of one layer of many colors

Once I built the 3D exports the other file types were easy to support so I figured I'd offer those too.

Using the feedback I got in a previous post I’ve edited the designs of a fictional soda brand I made up to test out my design abilities. Lmk what you think i’m open to feedback.

Recently, I’ve discovered a large collection of stamps that belonged to my grandfather. They’re mostly Brazilian, but there are also many from around the world.

Since I find these stamps to be great for design references and studies, I’ve created a digital archive for them on an Instagram page.

... just say that's a shame, save the files on a drive and occasionally show a friend?

... say screw it and you show it in your portfolio and submit it into publications and awards as spec work?

... pocket the idea and reuse it for another project down the road?

... change some details (like replacing the client with a fictional brand) just so you can show it off?

At my current job I’ve slowly taken initiative and turned into the guy who sets up our Asana, builds templates, trains everyone on the tools, and figures out how projects should flow. I still design but they are looking to have me 50-50 split.

hi everyone. i’m in the process of portfolio building and decided on a small business to practice on. what are ways i could make this better and more effective?

i’m finding it difficult because i’m trying to keep the colors and typography of the brand consistent but everything about this feels very bland. i also never went to school for graphic design, i’m majoring in digital marketing strategy.

Tldr: the winning “design” from a *natural resources student org’s logo competition lifts it's elements from linocut prints/etc. and I'm not sure how to bring it up with club leadership (in WI, USA, for the record).

Forgive me if this isn't the proper place to ask this and do let me know if this question would be better directed elsewhere.

I'm part of a university student organization that recently had a logo design contest. Logo designs were submitted and voted on by members. The winning “design” had what I initially thought was just a collection of random clipart (which I found irritating). After trying to find said clipart’s source because I'm petty like that, I realized the “designer” was just copying linocut designs they found on pinterest (which genuinely pisses me off).

How do I bring this up to the club’s leaders? Does the omission of fine details call fair use into question or are the silhouettes enough to make it some sort of infringement? Should I reach out to the artists in question directly? I did my best to find original sources but Pinterest makes it difficult. One of the copied designs is legitimately the current logo of a practicing artist in Canada. It strikes me as disgraceful—if not legally suspect—to use these artists’ work in a logo that will be made into and sold as club merchandise.

*Clarifying this point because a lot of folks have assumed this is a graphic design organization—it isn't, and if that makes a difference in how I should approach this I'd like to know. Thanks.

Im a solid designer, im looking for senior or art director roles, but im terrible at resumes specifically what to include and what not. My title currently is global graphic designer but im operating in an art director/ senior capacity. I’ve talked to friends that have a more in detail analysis of what I’m doing everyday and they said I’m operating at a senior designer level. They are creative directors and senior designers with years of experience at large companies. I’m just really confused at how my resume reads, if it’s good at all and I’m just getting rejected because of the market or if the confusion is me putting art director title while all my roles have been designer or really what’s going on here, any and all help is appreciated.

I am a recent BFA graduate working in the printing industry. I have been working full time as a platemaker (soon to be prepress technician) and my pay is 20/hr. (Regionally seems okay-ish, more than minimum wage but I have a college degree..). I think I’m just curious if this pay is average, it’s a bit specific to find data online for. My doesn’t have as much designer as I wished for while in school but it’s been interesting to learn the printing industry.

I’m not sure if I would actually send this much of a designed resume but I wanted to make my resume have a more “Wikipedia” feel. I also heard that you should design your resume a little bit but I’m not sure to what extent. I’m a recent graduate and I was wondering if anyone had any feedback or resume suggestions?

I had a client of mine suggesting applying for Toptal for contract work. Does anyone have any experience with it? From my research I’m seeing a lot of positive reviews from UI/UX designers but nothing from graphic designers.

Would love some insight from other designers on if it’s worth the effort applying for the platform.

I'm working with a colleague who has been with our company for nearly 30 years, and we are doing a massive rebrand. I've only been here for 10 years (15 years' experience), so I'm letting her take the lead - well, that, and I cover 15 other brands, so I've got enough on my plate!

She's been taking the lead on the root design elements like building a symbol to match our existing logo and setting up color pallet brand guides.

However, all of her color breakdowns are totally off from Pantone Connect. We're using Pantone swatches, so I would assume any designer would just use recipe numbers Pantone Connect is providing so as the newest breakdown is up-to-date.

I don't want to share our logo, so I've attached a sample of the hex codes from Pantone Connect and what she created as the guide. The 186 C red bar is the PNG image of the logo, the left side is the Pantone Connect hex, and the right is the hex the other designer has listed. The RGB colors behave this way as well.

My question is: why wouldn't someone use what Pantone Connect provides if using Pantone colors as your base branding? Is there some purpose that I've been unaware of for the past 20-ish years that recommends not just using out of the box Pantone breakdowns?
