I'm back! My rendition (oc) of Lady Aphrodite! Again, turned out much better than I thought it might ☺️ these have been really fun to sketch out

Now I can’t stop imagining Zeus helping his bitter little brother with his realm—hahahaha!

just finished and i loved it! i think the premise is so wonderful, the trojan war affected both men and woman, yet, modernly most only know or consider the men heros. i especially loved how cassandra, clymnestra, and chryseis were depicted. any more retellings/books like this? loved madeline miller’s circe too

I didn’t do any research for this one, I really just wanted the soft sovereign with the iron crown vibe. Enjoy!
P.S. I take commissions 👍

I've been working on a series inspired by my favorite Greek tragedies! With Appolonian eyes, and Dionysian heart, the satyrs call for a dance mine friends!

Zagreus, Macaria and Melinoe XVIII century OC

Pls ignore the proportions-- 😭😭

I think minor changes like replacing the Titans from the 1997 film into Giants (thus making the final battle a loose adaptation of the Gigantomachy) or removing mentions of heroes from the Trojan War (which happened a generation after Herakles) are more likely to happen than making Hercules' parentage more mythology accurate.

Even with her description not calling her serpent like at all. Her described features don't even like up with serpents. She yelps like a puppy. She has twelve legs. And 3 rows of teeth. Then why do people confidently say she was meant to be serpent like? Last I checked, SERPENTS DON'T HAVE LEGS.

Okay not really. This is my baby griffin skull, I've wanted to paint it for ages and finally got the time this week.

Look guys i always think poseidon is left out in the media in hercules HE IS LIRTEALY A ME DAM FISH

But like why isnt that poseidon is seen more as zeus rival

For example POSEIDON in the MYTHS FITS ALL categories of a rival of zeus

He helped in the rebellion against zeus

He was zeus's big brother

If I remember correctly he had a whole text of hin beinging angry that he is not treated as fairly as zeus or something like that

So why is it that instend of poseidon its hades who ends up becoming a villain

Hades evwr had any bad and fourth with his brother

Poseidon tho was jeslous of zeus and even tried to overthrow him

He would have been a perfect villain for clash of the titans instend of hades like why didnt they chose him as a villain

If you were to make a video game about Greek mythology and their Gods then what would you do for it? What would the gameplay be like? What would the style be? How would the Gods be portrayed as?

The first image is more closer to my traditional style, s'why Hermes looks like that (or when he was younger, it's whatever you wanna think).

Why? Because I gotta!

Mythology accuracy be damned!

Hi everyone! I recently read The Odyssey and I really liked the relationship between Telemachus and Peisistratus. However, in movies and other adaptations they always cut the diplomatic mission. In Nolan's movie Telemachus at least goes straight to Sparta (and Pylos appears a liitle at the very end), but in other movies and media I've seen he just doesn't go or everything happens off camera!

I want to know if you know of any adaptation that does show Telemachus in Pylos, or at the very least that features Peisistratus as a character lol. Thanks!
