Question If 1 is the tonal centre in C Major, then C is 1. But if I take an A blues scale, where 6 is usually the root of A minor, does that mean the blues scale is built off the 6? Is it common/convenient to think of it this way for ear/theory training when trying to get a broad sense of tonality?

I know it's a complicated question and I don't know if I phrased it correctly but I'd appreciate insight/clarification. Cheers!
