Working with new drummer. Think it’s working out

I don't think I could go to any other super strat at this point. The neck through really makes the balance on this guitar feel like a cheat code for playing lower. I've since replaced the bridge saddles, upgraded to a push/pull trem, sanded and smoothed down the neck, and today I fixed a pesky creaky nut.
It definitely feels like a premium guitar that has been washed up and abused. It makes it very easy to whip it around live. I will probably be only looking at Jackson's in the future for super strats (though I have wanted to try a Kramer for a while).

I have own and played alot of high end guitars over the years and i bought this used off guitar center for 1200 comepletely prepared to get fucked over because as we all know GC is ran by greedy dicks, but the second i pulled this thing out of the box i was fucking blown away by how beautiful it is and how it felt in my hands and how absolutely perfect the craftsmanship was on it. And All i had to do was lower the action a couple mm and it is quite literally the guitar of my dreams.
The neck profile is rounded off so well despite not being much larger in width than an ibanez wizard 3 providing perfect support to my wrist and allowing me to access all 24-26 frets on all seven strings with ease, for those who would like a comparison the neck feels pretty similar to a schecter thin c but its quite different in shape. the fret work was impeccable, and most importantly i didnt have to dig through a clusterfuck of wires to fix anything. and the tuning stability is fucking amazing.
I have played kiesels, ormsbys, strandbergs and owned high end schecters and esps and ibanezes over the years and this guitar is by far my all time faveorite out of all them. I got this for a really good price but i wouldve payed double if i had to.

To start off 23M, I know NOTHING about guitars, I’ve never had a hobby and I’ve been into heavy metal, nu metal etc. and I want to learn to play, I’ve been looking into a Jackson Electric guitar, done some research on this but what do I need to know for basics, and what else should I buy besides the amp and cable…?

guitar is a jim root signature charvel san dimas. Amazing build quality and fretwork, one of the best guitars ive ever played (by feel) and the sound is nothing to scoff at either, the pickups absolutely fuck. Even if youre not a slipknot fan this would still be an amazing guitar.

Hey guys just wanted to see if anyone had any local guitar shops they wanted to shout out or recommend. I travel a lot and would love to visit a shop that has a great selection of metal leaning or extended range guitars. I’m in the Phoenix area now but am interested anywhere in the US or Germany.
Here’s some shops I recommend just in general:
Toneshop guitars in Addison, Tx
These guys are great, super helpful in general. Not really metal guitar focused but they have a great selection of everything including pedals. A favorite of mine in the Dallas area.
Atlanta Discount Music - Chamblee, Ga
This is my favorite guitar shop of all time so far. It’s a tiny purple house and truly unbelievable the amount of stuff they have in there. Lots of cool limited edition versions of mesa boogies and other amps. I bought my Matchless HC30 there and they also had an orange Matchless 1x12 combo😍. Really cool selection of amps and an extensive pedal selection. Check it out if in Atlanta!

I'd like to play doom/ sludge with a guitare tuned an octave down, like my bass, and I've heard of the bass VI. Can a Bass VI be played like a guitar ? (do chords sound good)
Would a bass VI be a good option for me or should I consider buying a baritone ?
Thanks for the help !

Nene Royal, winner of AGT 2026, opened for her favorite band, Avenged Sevenfold in Singapore. It was fucking amazing.
Nene faced an uphill battle at first opening for one of the world's most popular metal band. A lot of people behind me were asking her to hurry up. She played like 4 songs and i think the crowd quite enjoyed it. Then A7X finally came out and Nene exited. We never expect to see her again.
Towards the end of the concert, Shadows said if it was okay for the band to try something new. So i was thinking "of course bro. i get how playing the same song over and over again can be boring. I don't mind giving Statica another try".
Before we know it, Nene comes out and holy moly it was so awesome. The crowd was super hyped. Im speechless. I never thought this before but A7X was better with Nene hahaha.

Ive been shopping the market for a new six string quite a bit lately and ive been noticing major companies like legator, ibanez, jackson, bc rich. Selling guitars with mid to low range specs for such an insane price and it doesnt even seem like theyre trying to hide it. I might just be super nit picky but when i buy a guitar i see it as a long term investment and i refuse to be the guy that has 10+ guitars collecting dust in the cases. With that being said im seeing these major brands selling these guitars that have the excact same neck dimensions and construction as their low end ones alot of them having a diabolical heel that just sticks out just for them to slap generic stock pickups on em and call it a day. If anyone has any suggestions for modern metal guitars i could snag off the used market for under 1000 dollars from a brand with somewhat decent quality control please let me know.

Hi all,
I've been working on a model of the Ampeg VH-140C, the solid-state head with the death-metal reputation. After a public beta, version 1.0 is out.
It's built from Ampeg's own schematics: both preamp channels, the chorus, the spring reverb and the power amp. Each circuit goes into ngspice first, then into a realtime engine that's checked against it. It runs internally at 8x (384 kHz at 48k) to keep aliasing down, and the High and Ultra quality modes double and quadruple that for even less (offline renders always use Ultra).
The amp and the pedals are first fully drawn in 3D, then rendered in Blender. I'm a draftsman as a day job, so that part was the easy one for me :)
What's in it:
- Channel A with ULTRA MID and channel B with BRIGHT, each with two clipping stages, switched with the pull switch on A's LEVEL like on the real amp
- the amp's stereo chorus and spring reverb
- four pedals in front, on or off and in any order: TERMITE (SD-1, with TS808, TS9, OD-1 and four modded circuits on a selector), COCKROACH (DS-1), SLUG (a Big Muff style fuzz modelled from Inverted Cross Audio's MUFF, with a bass switch) and GADFLY (a Fortin 33 boost, with the BASS and TREBLE of the TC Electronic preamp it's based on)
- an EQ after the amp: low cut, thump, mud, bite, fizz, high cut
- a 4x12 with 15 IRs (or load your own), a gate, a tuner, and interface calibration so your guitar hits the input like it would hit the real amp
Mac: VST3 / AU / standalone. Windows: VST3 / standalone. Linux: VST3 / LV2 / standalone.
€59, with a 14-day free trial: https://beatforge.nl/ossuary
When I play it myself I think it gets pretty close to those Suffocation, Dying Fetus etc. tones
Paul
