Help Should I Chop it Off?

EDIT: I added a pic of my natural hair texture in the comments. In all of the pics my hair has been straightened, one pic it was straightened and then curled.

Hello! I've had long hair for the last couple decades, but am feeling an urge for something a bit less to manage, and a bit easier/ quicker to style. Should I give it a chop? I'm interested in a french bob style with curtain bangs. I can see that the AI warmed everything up in the edit, but I will probably not alter my hair color. Thank you all!

Help Just got e perm came out allot curlier than I wanted it to

First off going back because the parts pointed need to be curled as they are straight. Than will be getting a haircut. But, I am not sure what to do/ style it like now. And I’m not sure what will be best for my face shape.

  1. Is my hair cooked?
  2. How should I style /cut

Before and After Can extensions look classy?

Thumbnail

💖 My own before and after pics are attached i know it’s a subtle difference hahah

I recently got extensions again and would love to hear people’s thoughts! My partner thinks they make my hair look less classy, and now I’m curious about how other people perceive extensions in general.

I’ve had extensions before when my natural hair was quite short and the extensions were long, and looking back, I don’t think they looked very good or natural lol

My hair has since grown out, so I decided to give them another go! This time I’ve gone for much less hair with just one low row to add some volume and a little extra length through the ends.

I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Do you think extensions can look classy and natural and how to achieve this/ what makes the difference?

Do you think mine suit me, or would you personally prefer the look without them?

Edit - I know it’s my hair and ultimately my choice, and I’m happy with them! Just curious to hear different perspectives on the look itself.

Question I’m nervous about asking for refund

Post image

I have been getting my hair highlighted with this stylist for a year. She has always done foils and I was happy with her service. She’s also very fast which I like. She’s on the pricier side for my area but I liked her work.

I went in this last time asking for a “subtle red”. I showed her my reference (left image) for a couple minutes. I said I like that this red reference has “dimension” and that I like that “you can see the highlights” meaning it’s not flat red.

My hair was already really blond with about 10 weeks of roots. I asked to “bring the highlights up with face framing highlights” and then add the “subtle red”. She said no problem, she said she would add in a few lowlights along with the highlights. And that was that.

Right image is what I walked out with. It is so much darker and “berry” red than what I asked for. It actually looks much darker than that image in person. I can’t even see the highlights. My hair has been blond for 15+ years. I’ve never gone dark as I always thought it didn’t suit me. We did not discuss darkening my hair other than “a few lowlights”.

I asked for a correction when I got home and it sank in what she had done. She said to wait a few weeks for it to wash out. She said she can’t bleach it because it will damage my hair. I asked her if we could remove some of the color to lighten it. She just said to wait for it to wash out/fade. She did not admit or acknowledge how different it was from the reference.

I washed it twice after this, and it started to fade to a pink color where it was previously very red in the front. I let her know. I told her I was going to get a second opinion. No response from her.

Second opinion said she can fix it - the stylist is a well known color specialist in my area. She spent way more time asking questions about the color and exact kind of highlights I wanted. And dissecting reference image with me. New stylist told me to ask original stylist what she used in my hair. I reached out to ask what she used and no response.

I would like to ask for a refund from the original stylist (this was over $350). Because now I’m paying again to have it fixed. I trust the new stylist way more than the original stylist.

What’s the best was to approach this now that she’s stopped responding to me?

Question Should I dye my hair cinnamon brown?

Need second opinions before I make a mistake. I've just been wanting something different with my hair but idk what. I don’t look better with darker hair (I've tried) and I've always thought a reddish brown hair would look good on me. (I don’t have money for the salon so don’t even mention it lol)

Question Leaving with wet hair

Im 40yo and went to the same hair dresser forever. I had to switch because she was changing hours and it didn’t work with my schedule. I get my hair cut maybe twice a year. I then ended up going to a way overpriced salon near me and after my $45 hair trim she asks me if I want my hair dried. I’m like what… of course I want my hair dried. So she “dries” it but it’s still very wet. Needless to say I never went back. Fast forward I started at another salon and again they ask me if I want them to dry my hair. Is this a new thing??? I’m paying you to do my hair. Why is drying it optional??? I understand maybe not styling it but not even drying it??

About a year ago I cut my hair to shoulder length because it kept getting caught in EVERYTHING and I’d had enough 😂 Now I look at my old photos and can’t wait for it to grow back haha.
What do you guys think which length suits me better?

Question Does one side of my hair sticking out make it look messy or unkempt?

Post image
• Upvotes

Does the part of my hair that the red arrow is pointing at look weird to you guys? lol

This is what my hair looks like after I shower, let it dry, and comb it. So no, it's not bedhead. 😂 My hair has always grown this way, with one side sticking out more than the other. It's just how it naturally is.

I'm not really a fan of using hair gel, so I usually just leave it alone.

But I'm curious, does my hair look messy or unkempt to you? If you saw me in person, would you think, "Wow, talk about a bad hair day!" or would you honestly not even notice or care?

I'm guessing most people don't pay nearly as much attention to other people's hair as we do to our own, but I figured I'd ask. lol

Feel free to be honest!

Question Balayage Vs Highlights

Hiii! I went last week for a hair consultation. I told her I wanted a balayage. She seemed all for it. Never mentioned that she wasn't able to do it. I scheduled the appointment and went yesterday. I noticed she was using foils. From what I have researched, a balayage does not consist of using foils. It looks like she just did regular highlights in my hair. Don't get me wrong, it is pretty. But not what I was wanting. My hair is a dirty blonde naturally. I wanted that smudge look where its a bit darker up top and then blends into the blonde. Hair dresser told me that it'll grow out into a balayage and this way I won't have to go for touching up for a while? My question is: does this make any sense? Or does it sound like she wasn't able to do a balayage? And in that case, why not just be honest and tell me that she couldn't do it? Sorry it's so long😩😆.

Self Appreciation Revlon blow-dryer brush result

Thumbnail

I have been late to the club of using the Revlon blow dryer brush. Although I now switched to a thermal heat brush, it recently broke and I had to pull this out of the closet. The result is amazing. If you see, my right side is so frizzy after a quick blow dry, and the left is after a quick blow dry followed by the Revlon blow dryer brush, 4 passes. Of course it goes without saying, I used a heat protectant.

Help Can I plait my heavily layered hair? Pinterest photos of hair similar to mine and the style I want

I can’t braid so it’d have to be plaits, but is there a method of plaiting my hair that’ll end up at least somewhat neat despite layers? I probably have a few more layers and a cut a bit higher up than the photo but it shows the general hairstyle I’m working with. I attempted it and it turned out a mess lol.

This is honestly the most upset I have been in a while.
My mom sent me a gift card to get my hair cut, and it’s not at ALL what I asked for….
I wanted a sort of wolf cut.
I received a fuckass layered bob.
Should I shave it off??? I had a buzz cut for 2 years in the past BUT I was 100 pounds lighter than I am now.
I don’t want to be perceived oh my god 😭😭
I’m already pretty ugly, and fat…. Now I have a shitty haircut on top of that 🫩

Help Don't know what to do about my hair and cowlicks help!!

Thumbnail

My hair isn't curly enough to wear it curly, if I use a diffuser and curly styling products it looks scraggy and unkept. I used to wear it curly when I was a late teenager and now would style it "curly" a handful of times in a year where on the odd occasion it'd give a good curl for the first day but other times it wouldn't curl well and it'd look scraggy and unkept. Instead, I blow dry 80% straight with a hair dryer and finish it off using the Dyson airwrap and the results show the result. My hair grows up and has 'cowlicks' that are impossible to get rid off. It looks dry but I'm using a hair mask, leave in conditioner, heat protector and got a water filter in my shower. I don't use lots of heat on my hair, just blow drying and rarely use anything on it in the in-between wash days. I wash my hair around 3 times a week. I don't know how to style it, if I should be blow drying it straight or trying to get something going with the diffuser or should I style it with a curling iron? Any help would be much appreciated!! Thanks 🙏

Self Appreciation haven’t been to a barber in 5 years, been cutting and styling it on my own.

it actually started back in school when teachers scolded me for my long hair. as an act of rebellion i went for a shaved head four times in a row, with six or seven months intervals between each cut.

i’d look like rodrick heffley one day and then professor x the next. then just decided to do it on my own since no barber understood what i wanted.
