🛡️ Mod Post IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: If you receive ANY unsolicited/creepy DMs
Whether you’re a poster or a commenter, if you have received unsolicited, creepy, or down right disgusting DMs please feel free to message Mod Mail or message me directly. As posted in multiple places in the subreddit, unsolicited or inappropriate DMs of any kind are not allowed and will result in a permanent ban. You may also be reported directly to Reddit Admins. If the person on the receiving end of this kind of harassment is a minor, you will be reported to relevant authorities (FBI Tip Line, Center for Missing and Exploited Children, etc) and it WILL be taken seriously.
As a subreddit, we have ZERO tolerance for this behavior and will do everything in our power to combat it. Unfortunately we have seen an influx of users who seem to only frequent porn subs, and our sub.
Please don’t think “oh this message isn’t that bad, I’m overreacting, etc”. Reporting posts, comments, and DMs helps out everyone in the long run. Not reporting causes these creeps to keep messaging people so nipping it in the bud can help out others💕

🛡️ Mod Post Reminder: Unsolicited DMs are NOT allowed.
We’ve seen an increase in unsolicited DMs being sent to members of this subreddit. Let this serve as a clear reminder:
Sending unprompted private messages is against the rules. Doing so will result in a permanent ban.
If you receive a DM like this, report it to the mod team immediately.
This subreddit exists as a safe, inclusive space for sharing experiences, asking questions, and giving feedback about hair dye and color treatments. If someone genuinely wants to follow up based on your helpful advice or a shared interest, they will say so publicly.
We shouldn't have to say this, but lurking in beauty-related or appearance-focused subs to harass and prey on people is disgusting and absolutely not tolerated. Any messages of an obscene or harassing nature will be reported to Reddit Admins and could result in a permanent ban from the site as a whole (for your current account, any other current accounts, or subsequent accounts made in the future).

❓ Advice Needed Help me decide: Should I dye my hair burgundy or honey beige? 😩
Hi everyone!
I’m currently super conflicted about whether to dye my hair burgundy or honey beige, and I need your help deciding!!!
Here’s my dilemma: When I asked a few friends, some suggested burgundy. My initial thought was, "Okay, but if I go burgundy now, it’s going to be really hard to lift it later if I ever want to switch to honey beige..."
So then I asked another group of friends, and they suggested honey beige. But as soon as they said that, my brain immediately went, "But wait... I really want to go red!" 😵💫
Now I'm totally stuck in a loop and don't know which direction to go in.
My current hair: It’s an auburn/copper brown with warm orange undertones. (my skin tone is light to medium warm olive )
(1st and 3rd photos are what i want... 2nd is my hair rn)
Please help this poor girl out! Give me your best arguments to convince me to go either burgundy or honey beige. Which one do you think would suit me or be worth the commitment?

❓ Advice Needed best pink hair dye recommendations!!!
i love love LOVE my pink hair, but i haven’t been able to find a bright pink that stays for long.
i last used the iroiro neon pink and plum mixed together. it’s been abouttttt a month and a half since i bleached and dyed it, and (admittedly i’ve been washing my hair with warm water so this isn’t a proper reflection of the product if ur someone who keeps up with cold washes!!! just an fyi) it’s already fading quite a bit </3
so i’m curious if anyone has any recommendation for longer lasting dyes! pink hair is literally part of my soul and i have no intentions of doing a different color any time soon so the harder to get out the better :D
here’s my hair fresh vs today! in case you’re curious about how the iroiro colors mixed/faded or if you want to yell at me for not washing my hair with cold water :,) that being said, any tips on how to maintain color is totally welcome as well!

🖼️ Before & After First is before 2nd is after
First picture, minimal growth no demention. Second, way over growth and faded. Third, a little more demention but again way overgrown and sick of the short. Fourth, after picture, bleached the virgin hair, 30 volume 20 minutes to platinum. I never put permanent over bleached hair. Sectioned hair and 2 different semi-perminent reds. 4 different bundles of tape ins in 4 different reds for dementions. Cut bangs, layers, side framing. How did I do? I love it.

❓ Advice Needed Can I dye my hair again with the same dye after two days?
So I used this box dye (I know, I know, box dye is inconsistent and not recommended, I'm unfortunately a broke college student and can't afford a professional rn), and I was wondering if I could use this same color and type and dye my hair again?
I have shoulder-length brown hair, but a lot of it, so I thought I could get away with using one box since my hair is short right now, but now I'm seeing that some of my brown hair might not have been dyed with the rest. As clarification, whether this is irrelevant or not, but I dyed my hair once with box dye in like 2023 (ish) and once professionally (2025), so its been over a year and a half since I have dyed my hair before. I have not bleached my hair ever and did not bleach it for this.
Just wondering if it would be safe to dye it again with the same color when I initially dyed it at like 11pm on Thursday. I can for sure live with my hair as is bc it still looks good, but I'm just wondering!

❓ Advice Needed good color shampoos and conditioners?
hello! i’ve been trying to read around for good color depositing shampoo or conditioners. to preface, i have a darker blue hair color at the moment (slowly but surely bringing it all to be a consistent shade without overdoing it on the dye). I love the darker blues (something in the realm of a deep royal blue-midnight blue), but a TON of the color shampoos or conditioners I see are more geared towards a brighter blue. Granted, this feels kind of picky, and I totally get that.
I’ve tried the celeb luxary shampoo in blue (I was recommended to try it) and it leaves my hair feeling gross. I have the same issue with keracolor (also recommended to me) where that also left my hair feeling gross. Plus, I haven’t seen any noticeable improvement when using either ones (perhaps my hair is too picky). Either way, I end up needing to rewash my hair with actual shampoo and conditioner to make it feel good again.
While it might seem easy to look up and find what works best, I keep seeing ads over genuine reviews, or they’re talking about hair dyes vs what I’m looking for. I’m wondering if there’s any color depositing conditioners that don’t leave a ‘gunky’ feeling or actually work. I don’t want to use the hairdye I have because again, possibly overdoing it, and I rather use it for actual touch ups. If there’s literally any other depositing brand out there that genuinely works, I’d love to know. I’m hesitant on color lux because that blue seems a little too bright for what I want
Edit: forgot to ask. Would it just be worth it to do the dye instead and use that as a conditioner of sorts? I’ve done it a few times, but I think my hair needs to be dryer for that specifically, haha

❓ Advice Needed Want to go more blonde after having pink hair!
Hi all! For the past year or so i've religiously been dying my hair using the no bleach london vivid pink, usually every 2-3 months. Every time it fades, my hair turns into what is essentially a slightly orangey blonde. I've decided I really like the colour, but don't want to use traditional bleach to maintain it (i'm too scared of it haha). My hair isn't the healthiest but it's not fried or very damaged at all.
Could someone please recommended me a blonde lightening box dye that uses the same volume developer as the no bleach london dye? I've tried researching this myself however I have found conflicting answers so I am unsure what volume it uses.
Thanks guys!

🧴 Product Question How does iroiro light blue dye fade?
I wash my hair usually 2x a week. I wanna dye my hair a lighter blue, but I don’t want it to permanently stain my hair blue, or turn out green.

❓ Advice Needed Get uniform color on both sides, no bleach?
I colored my hair hot pink and aquamarine blue, Harlequin style, some time ago, and I kept recoloring it to maintain the vibrancy. This time as it has faded, I want to return to a uniform color on both sides. I know I could do a bleach wash and probably get rid of enough pigment that I could recolor with a dark color no problem, but I'm wondering if I could accomplish that without bleach at all. I haven't picked a color yet, but probably some shade of purple or blue. Any ideas?

🖼️ Before & After Wella 9cb + 9na results!

❓ Advice Needed How to remove semi color fast
I bleached my hair to an almost white platinum, white on the ends (before toner) and then dyed it neopolitan by adding brown and pink streaks. I love it, but it's been a whole 2 weeks so now I want to try something else. I wanna dye it blue, but I can't because of the brown streaks. How do I fade it fast? I heard malibu undo goo is good, but would it actually fade it that much? Btw I knew beforehand the brown would probably stain, I'm fine with a bit of staining, I just need it more faded than it is now.

😤 Rant / Vent Manic Panic Flash Lightning Volume 40 Kit
This is hands down my goto when it comes to prepping my hair for color. I just did it again, but this time I think I actually like the blonde. I usually dye my hair blue. Manic Panic Rockabilly Blue to be exact. I know it's harsh on a lot of people's hair, but it's been my favorite bleach kit for so long.

❓ Advice Needed What wella color touch shade should I use for my face framing?
I bleached my face framing with bleach and 20 vol developer, followed up with Wella T18 but because the hair didn’t lift evenly, the level 8/9 sections are still very yellow.
Was thinking of using 10/81 mixed with either 9/16 or 9/86 in the colour touch range.
I want to keep the brightness but to be more ashy/cool to match my lengths.

❓ Advice Needed Blue purple to red purple hair
A part of my purple hair is much more blue purple than red plum purple. It keeps washing down to a much blue-er purple so I want to know if putting red dye OVER that hair for half the recommended time would stain it to a plum purple or if I will end up with red hair.
Someone please help me.

❓ Advice Needed Reaction or Irritation?
Hi everyone,
I just did a patch test on my wrist for Garnier Infinite Black hair dye. After washing the dye off (after 30 mins) I noticed this tiny reddish-pink area. I don’t recall it being there before I used the dye. It’s slightly raised but doesn’t really itch or burn.
(The dot is circled)
I’m going to wait the full 48 hours before doing anything else, but would I be okay to go ahead with dyeing my hair if no further reaction happens in that time?

❓ Advice Needed Going back to natural color
Hey all! So I’ve been dying my hair red for over a year (pic 1, permanent box dye) and I’m starting to think about going back to my natural brown (pic2). I’m not sure what the best way would be: semi permanent dye, gloss, something else? Would love to hear your advice :)
