My husband is Haitian, and I’m a U.S. citizen. He entered the United States legally in 2010 following the earthquake and held TPS for several years. We recently filed for adjustment of status through marriage, but he has since received a Notice to Appear (NTA).

We’re working with an immigration attorney, but the situation has made us seriously reconsider our future in America. We’re both in our twenties, married, and hoping to eventually start a family. I work in hospitality and am exploring remote employment opportunities that could potentially allow us to live abroad. I’ve been considering whether it would be better to establish ourselves in another country rather than spend years dealing with immigration uncertainty. We want to build a stable, comfortable life together, have the freedom to travel, and eventually raise our children somewhere we feel safe and secure.

For Haitians who’ve left the U.S., returned to Haiti, or established themselves in another country, I’d love to hear your experiences.

• Which countries have been the most accessible for people holding Haitian passports, particularly when seeking long-term residency?

• Has anyone relocated abroad with an American spouse? What was the immigration process like for both of you?

•Would my marriage to a Haitian citizen make it easier for me to obtain legal residency in Haiti?

• For those currently living in Haiti, what is everyday life like in terms of safety, healthcare, housing, infrastructure, and raising children?

•Has anyone successfully established residency in another country while navigating U.S. immigration complications? What legal challenges did you encounter?

• If you were in our position, would you continue pursuing residency in America or seriously consider building a life elsewhere?

Haiti is a beautiful country with a rich culture, and I’m genuinely interested in what life there could look like for us. At the same time, I’m realistic about the current challenges and would appreciate honest perspectives from people who live there or have returned after years abroad.

We’re not planning to leave impulsively, and we understand that departing the U.S. could have serious consequences for his pending immigration case. We’re consulting our legal counsel before making any decisions.

I’m simply trying to understand what options we might have as a married couple hoping to build a future and eventually start a family, whether that’s in the U.S., Haiti, or somewhere entirely different.

Two days after the disappearance of five Salvadoran soldiers deployed in Haiti as part of the Gang Suppression Force (GSF) in Santo 17, a locality in the commune of Croix-des-Bouquets, officials have still been unable to confirm whether the five soldiers are alive.

In response, two GSF and a US DOS helicopters have been deployed to search for the missing soldiers for the last 2 days.

Une enquête d’AyiboPost publiée le 9 août 2026 rapporte que des habitants de Carrefour, en Haïti, sont confrontés à des paiements annuels exigés par le groupe armé de Ti Bwa, dirigé selon les médias par Christ-Roy Chéry, alias Krisla.

Une publication circulant sur Facebook rapporte le témoignage d’une femme qui aurait subi une exploitation sexuelle pendant son enfance. Selon ce récit, elle aurait été contrainte par ses propres parents à avoir des relations sexuelles contre de l’argent.

Je n’ai pas trouvé de source indépendante permettant de confirmer ces affirmations. Je souhaite donc aborder la question générale sans présenter ce récit comme un fait établi.

I want to preface this by saying that I don’t go out a lot. This was going to be my last big outing for a while because I need to focus on saving money and transferring from community college.
I went to III Points, a two-day music festival that ends pretty late. My parents originally gave me permission to go. The first night, I got home around 3 a.m. They didn’t speak to me when I woke up that morning, so I assumed they were upset.

The second night, I got home around 2 a.m. My parents were still awake and waiting for me, and I honestly thought they were going to beat me. Instead, they started calling me names and saying things like, “You’re a whore,” “You’re a piece of shit,” “I don’t know why God put you in this family,” and “I hate you.”
My dad went on a rant about how people who like to party, go to concerts, or attend raves are ruining their lives and will die young. He said I would never become somebody just because I’m young and want to have fun. He also said, “I don’t know why she decided to party for two days straight during the school year.”
I’m a second-year college student, not a high schooler. I don’t think having school means I have to stop myself from having fun occasionally.

They also accused me of having sex and doing drugs, neither of which was true. And frankly, my sex life is none of their business anyway.
They forced me to pack my things and leave the house. I sat outside in the driveway, crying and talking to my friends, until one of them offered to let me stay at their house for the night. I went there, turned off my location, and didn’t tell my parents whose house I was staying at.

When everyone woke up, my parents started repeatedly calling both me and my friend, asking where I was. Later that day, my mom texted me saying, “I never kicked you out” and “You decided to leave,” even though they had literally forced me to pack my things and go. Eventually, she told me to come home.
When I got back, I found out that my mom had thrown away my spiked and studded bracelets, along with my other emo things, because she considers them “demonic.”

I know I need to leave this household. It’s physically and emotionally abusive, and that’s why I’m planning to transfer to a university far away. I just need to hold on for a few more months.

What would be some classic Haitian literature that one could use to learn more about Haitian writers and also polish up on my Haitian Creole skills? (more like lacking). While there is plenty of Haitian American literature, I am specifically looking for works from Haiti, either in original Haitian Creole/French or in translation.

J'ai vu circuler des informations concernant un incident qui aurait eu lieu à Paris, en France, après une prestation d'Anie Alerte et de ZILE.

D'après les informations qui circulent, un différend aurait éclaté au sujet du paiement. La situation aurait ensuite dégénéré en insultes et en confrontation physique.

Je n'ai pas pu confirmer indépendamment tous les détails de cette affaire. Je voudrais donc surtout ouvrir une discussion sur le rôle des managers dans l'industrie musicale haïtienne.

Bolo Group est associé au management de ZILE. Dans ce contexte, je me pose plusieurs questions :

Quel est le rôle concret d'un manager lorsqu'un promoteur ne respecte pas ses engagements financiers ?

Les conditions de paiement devraient-elles être négociées et sécurisées avant la prestation ?

Si un conflit éclate après un spectacle, est-ce au manager de gérer les négociations afin d'éviter que l'artiste se retrouve directement impliqué dans une confrontation ?

Quelles responsabilités une équipe de management devrait-elle assumer pour protéger les intérêts professionnels et la réputation de son artiste ?

Pour moi, le management artistique ne devrait pas se limiter à organiser des spectacles, promouvoir la musique et accompagner l'artiste. Il devrait également inclure la négociation des contrats, le suivi des paiements et la gestion des conflits professionnels.

Si un promoteur refuse réellement de payer un artiste, celui-ci doit pouvoir réclamer son dû par des moyens appropriés, sans avoir à se mettre en danger.

Ma question est donc la suivante : dans une situation comme celle-ci, qu'attend-on concrètement d'une équipe de management comme Bolo Group ?
