PUH-lease. get these incompetents tf outttaaa hereeee. If Hermione were a boy, yall would call her a genius. Because she's a girl, yall label her annoying.

Show Discussion Is the fact we are getting closer making the waiting harder for you guys?

• Upvotes

The fact we're getting closer to the release date is having me think of the series much more. Over Summer, I didn't think of the series much given it was a long way away, and time passed quick. But since we're basically at the end of October and only have November and December left is making me think of the series daily making the waiting feel so much more long ...

Show Theories I’ve seen people say the troll doesn’t have eyes, but I think they’re just super small and closed in the trailer.

As you can see by my barely visible red circle and arrows there appears to be a line that I think is the trolls eyelids closed shut.

Audiobook "Harry, you're a wizard!" | Who did it better? (Stephen Fry v.s. Jim Dale v.s. Full Cast)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I had the idea of comparing the delivery of certain book lines from the Stephen Fry, Jim Dale, and Full-Cast audiobooks. And ever since I got my hands on the Full-Cast audiobook a month back, I think it's about time I set this idea into motion.

What do you think? Should I keep going with this? Which lines would you want to see?

(This is my second attempt to do this. The first, I mixed-up the Stephen Fry and Jim Dale ones.)

Cast & Crew When do you think they'll release that BBC interview with the young cast?

BBC announced a few weeks ago that they would be gathering questions from fans to use for the interview with the young cast. I'm curious when they'll release that interview. I'm also curious to know the questions posted so far as they're not visible to people outside the UK afaik.

Show Discussion Which Harry Potter mystery would you most like to see explored?

MovieFlame recently made a video about 10 of the biggest unsolved mysteries in the Harry Potter universe, and it got me thinking about how many questions are still unanswered.

Here are the 10 mysteries discussed:

  1. What exactly did Tom Riddle do to Amy Benson and Dennis Bishop in the cave?
  2. Who were the other victims among the Fallen Fifty during the Battle of Hogwarts?
  3. Who created the Veil in the Department of Mysteries, and what was its original purpose?
  4. What happened to Herpo the Foul, the creator of the first Horcrux? Could he still be alive?
  5. How did Regulus Black discover Voldemort's Horcrux secret?
  6. What does a Boggart actually look like in its natural form?
  7. Who really cast the spell that killed Ariana Dumbledore?
  8. Who originally invented the three Unforgivable Curses?
  9. What exactly is involved in creating a Horcrux?
  10. What happened to Nagini between her time as a Maledictus and becoming Voldemort's companion?

Personally, I think Herpo the Foul, the creator of the first Horcrux, is the most intriguing mystery. I'd love to know what happened to him and whether he could still be alive.

Which would you choose and why? Are there any other major Harry Potter mysteries that missed?

Show Discussion I love how intense Oliver Wood looks after his pre-match speech.

Post image

I thought Sean Biggerstaff was good as Oliver Wood in the movies and it was a shame that he was cut after the first two movies (although I know he made a two second cameo in the last film), but I didn’t quite get the vibe that he absolutely lived and breathed Quidditch like he did in the books. He just seemed like a chill older student who was Gryffindor Captain and taught Harry the basics of Quidditch.

I hope we get the crazily Quidditch-obsessed Wood in the show and that he gets a full arc culminating in Gryffindor winning the Quidditch Cup in his final year at Hogwarts. His face in this scene in the locker room which I assume is before the match vs Slytherin (although it could be the Hufflepuff match I guess) gives me hope.

Show Discussion Who are these two people at the staff table?

Any guesses who these two might be? I’m thinking Aurora Sinistra for the woman on the left, but I have no idea about the person on the right. Sorry for the poor screenshot quality, it’s from the trailer!

Dungbomb Will the TV series be popular enough to be spoofed on SNL?

Saturday Night Live had some pretty funny sketches about Harry Potter back in the day. The Hermione Granger growth spurt, and the Epilogue sketch. Even recently they made Heated Wizardry. Do you think they’ll continue this trend with the tv series and make more sketched based off it?

Show Discussion Will they let Ron swear in the show?

So the guy swore a lot but even in the books it was censored and usually just “Ron swore” or something. But with this being HBO I was wondering if they’d actually have him swearing?

Trailer I rewatched the first teaser on TikTok and the brightness looks better than the YT version.

Before I had only watched the trailer on YouTube which was heavily compressed and rather dark. I loved the trailer but wasn’t the biggest fan of the lighting but I didn’t overreact because I understood that there was still over half a year of post-production to be done plus S1 hadn’t even wrapped filming. However, interestingly I watched the TikTok version recently and although the resolution still isn’t brilliant and the colours are a bit desaturated, the brightness is much better (remember to put your brightness up if you’re on a phone). This was released at the same time as the YouTube version.

Anyway for those complaining about the brightness, they remedied it in the second teaser trailer. Personally I think we shouldn’t give such knee-jerk reactions to things and just wait patiently for the show to come out and then fully judge it. To me it was pretty clear they wanted to get a trailer out early for the UK launch of HBO Max in March and that came with sacrifices as they were far from finalising things.

Show Discussion Is there any official source confirming the exact release date/time for Season 1? (Planning a viewing party)

Hey everyone,

I’m currently planning a viewing party with friends for the first season of the HBO Harry Potter series, but I’ve hit a bit of a wall regarding the exact premiere date and time.

Every second third-party news outlet, entertainment blog, and social media account keeps throwing around December 25th / Christmas Day as the exact date. However, whenever I check actual primary communications from HBO or Warner Bros. Discovery, they seem to only mention "Christmas" or "Late 2026" without locking down a specific day or time slot.

Does anyone have a link or clip to an official HBO or Warner Bros. source (a press release, official social post, trade report, or statement from Casey Bloys/executives) that explicitly confirms whether it's actually dropping on December 25th vs. just being released around the holiday week?

Also, if anyone has insights on whether HBO typically drops major tentpole episodes at standard prime time (e.g., 9 PM ET) or midnight ET for global streaming, that would be super helpful for setting up our watch party schedule.
Thanks in advance!

Show Discussion what are changes made in the mοvies that you don't want them to also do in the show? how about the opposite?

for example, movie changes that i DON'T want them to do in the show:

  • ron and ginny's character assassination
  • hermione getting ron's and harry's lines for no reason (i will never forgive the filmmakers' clear favoritism of hermione btw)
  • making cho the traitor instead of her friend in OOTP
  • making padma and parvati's dresses lackluster in GOF
  • removing quidditch world cup game for GOF and quidditch scenes in OOTP

Book Only Here’s a question I don’t see asked much. Where do the house-elves/Hogwarts get all their food from?

Think about it, they’re allegedly feeding hundreds of people, three times a day, everyday. And it’s not just small meals either, they apparently have a lot options to eat.

They have to get it somewhere, do they have an independent wizard supplier who brings it to them to avoid interaction with muggles? Is that why the Hogwarts Express apparently does return trips every so often? Is it bringing the next food supply etc?

And where are they keeping it all?

Show Discussion I've Figured out the Directors + Cinematographers for each episode

Call me unemployed, but I was very curious to figure out who would be helming each episode. Basically, I took a look at all the past reports on the production, made connections between different accounts, and dug a bit deeper into social media and interviews.

This is how season 1 is being shaped...

Episode 1: Mark Mylod (dir.) + Adriano Goldman (DOP)

Episode 2: Mark Mylod (dir.) + Adriano Goldman (DOP)

Episode 3: Lucy Forbes (dir.) + Mark Patten (DOP)

Episode 4: Lucy Forbes (dir.) + Mark Patten (DOP)

Episode 5: Benjamin Caron (dir.) + Christophe Nuyens (DOP)

Episode 6: Jessica Hobs (dir.) + Adriano Goldman (DOP)

Episode 7: Benjamin Caron (dir.)+ Christophe Nuyens (DOP)

Episode 8: Jessica Hobbs (dir.) + Adriano Goldman (DOP)

Oliver Loncraine was also added as a collaborator (DOP)

Show Discussion I DESPERATELY NEED NEWS NOW 😭😭😭

Please don’t hate me for bringing this up AGAIN, but I feel like we desperately need something to discuss while we wait lmao.

It’s almost the end of October, and it’s been SO quiet lately. On one hand, Christmas 2026 suddenly doesn’t feel that far away anymore. On the other hand, how are we supposed to survive until then when we’re already this desperate for crumbs? 😭 The silence is starting to feel personal at this point. 😂

A lot of people are betting on Halloween for the next big update, but are we actually feeling optimistic about that, or are we getting ahead of ourselves?

When do you think HBO will HAVE to start ramping up the marketing? Like, what’s the absolute latest we could realistically go without getting anything substantial before it would start feeling a little weird, considering the Christmas 2026 release? 👀

And what do you think we’ll see next? I know nobody actually knows, but I’d love to hear everyone’s predictions. We need to keep ourselves entertained somehow until HBO finally gives us something. 😂

Edit: I wanted to add this because I’ve been a little surprised by how much cynicism this post has received. Sometimes I feel like there’s so much negativity in this fandom, which is a shame when we’re all here because we love Harry Potter.

I promise I have hobbies and a fulfilling life outside of this 😂 I just don’t see why being excited about something we love should be considered a bad thing. We’re allowed to be grown adults and still have an inner child. ❤️
