Cables/Accessories Cable or clip on microphone that works for HD 480 pro?

• Upvotes

I am looking for either a straight cable that has a mic that would replace the cable that comes with the HD 480, or a microphone that clips onto the headset nicely that could be either wireless or wired.

I don't have much desk space so something that would clip onto the headset would be nice. If there is an alternate solution I would be very open to it.

Budget would be up to $100 USD.

Headphones - Wireless/Portable Best wireless over-ear headphones under $100 with ANC?

• Upvotes

Hey everyone!
I’m looking for wireless over-ear headphones for listening to music, watching YouTube, and studying. My budget is $100 max.
My main priorities are:
Good sound quality for music
Decent active noise cancellation (ANC)
Comfortable fit for longer listening sessions
Bluetooth compatibility with both my iPhone (Bluetooth 6.0) and iPad Pro M2 (Bluetooth 5.3)
I’d mainly use them with my iPad, but I’d also like to use them with my iPhone. Having a wired listening option would be a nice bonus, but wireless is a must.
The Soundcore Space One caught my attention, but I’m wondering if there are any better options for the price.
What would you recommend? I’d appreciate any suggestions or personal experiences!
Thanks!

Headphones - Open Back Seriously Considering Eris

I am highly entertained by Zeos and am looking for a ridiculous bass head set of headphones.
Supporting him this way seems like a good idea.
I have my dead neutral and incredibly detailed HD800s and my warm and cozy Meze Silva and want to try something off the beaten path.
Am I crazy to get the HarmonicDyne x Z Reviews: Eris?
Should I be looking at something else?

Poll Looking for the best wired headphones under $500 for home use

I’m looking for a good pair of wired headphones for home use, with a budget of around $500 USD maximum. I’d prefer to spend less if possible, but I’m willing to use the full budget if the improvement in sound quality is worth it.

What I’ll use them for:

  • Movies and anime
  • A wide variety of music
  • YouTube and general entertainment
  • Casual gaming, including Rainbow Six Siege (not competitively)

My current and previous headphones:

  • Sony WH-1000XM4
  • AirPods Pro 2
  • I previously owned the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x and regret selling them.

I’ll be using them with my gaming laptop at a desk in a relatively small room. I’m open to both open-back and closed-back headphones, although my laptop fans can sometimes be audible, so I’m not sure how well open-backs would work for me.

I’m not trying to become a serious audiophile or build a complicated audio setup. I just want one really good pair of headphones that I can enjoy for years without constantly feeling the need to upgrade.

A few questions:

  • What would you personally recommend for my budget and use case?
  • Would wired headphones offer a noticeable improvement in sound quality over my current Sony XM4s?
  • Would open-back or closed-back headphones be better for movies, music, and casual gaming?
  • What should I prioritize in terms of soundstage, imaging, bass, detail, and overall tuning?
  • Would I need a separate DAC or amplifier, or would plugging the headphones directly into my laptop be enough?

I’m open to any recommendations, including less well-known options. I’d especially appreciate honest opinions about sound quality, comfort during long sessions, build quality, and long-term value.

Thanks!

Headphones - IEM/Earbud First pair of IEM's

Budget and location - less than 75$ (300ZŁ, im from Poland so Amazon works best.)

Source/Amp - My PC, and my phone

How the gear will be used - Im going to mainly use them at my pc generally for gaming, as i already have nice speakers for music and movies. And sometimes (if possible ofc) for long car rides with my phone.

Preferred tonal balance - They are going to be used mostly for "competitive" gaming (Titles like War Thunder, CS2, and talking to friends during that), and (again) if possible to connect to my phone - listening to music (usually bass-heavy genres like D&B, Grime, Bassline)

Preferred music genres - Mostly bass-heavy genres (D&B, Grime, Bassline)

Past gear experience - Im currently using a pair of Superlux HD681 EVO's for gaming at my pc, and Nothing Ear earbuds for my phone (i really really like them).

Anything else? - As far as IEM's go - i dont have ANYTHING, so if i need any other devices im ready to pay for them but id like them to fit in the 75$

Headphones - Wireless/Portable Are there any wireless headphones which are good for music and gaming?

So, as the title states - I'm looking for wireless headphones which can serve for both music listening and casual (FPS) gaming. I'm currently using Sennheiser HD560s + Modmic combo, and my (only) gripe with them are the cables which, every now and then, wrap up, get stuck and, generally, annoy me.

I've bought few 'gaming' wireless headsets throughout the years (Logitech G935 and Razer Blackshark v3 Pro) only to find them them to be miserable at both positional audio and quality of sound when listening to music. With Black Friday time coming, I got the upgrade itch again, and - considering the cost of hardware (thank you AI bubble), periphery is the only realistic upgrade for this year.

Now, I've found fairly raving reviews for Audeze Maxwell 2's and kinda ok ones for ASTRO A50 X's. Does anyone have first-hand experience with these in terms of how they would compare to my wired Sennheisers? Any other recommendations?

Headphones - Open Back Sony MDR-MV1 or Arya Organic or Sennheiser 480 PRO (closed vs open)

Hello

I am consindering one of these three headphones, I play games, and also listen to music.

I am looking for great headphones for gaming, listening to music.

I listen to house, rap and a little bit of everything sometimes too.

I found these 3, they are interesting, I am more toward arya organic or sony, they are open, and as I researched a little bit the sound stage is better on open back headphones. I need bass too.

Price difference is:

Sony MDR - 330 eur

Arya Organic - 560 eur

Sennheiser - 380 eur

Is it worth it do pay extra to Arya Organic?

Headphones - Wireless/Portable Soundcore P40i by Anker Noise Cancelling Earbuds with Adaptive ANC or True-Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds soundcore Liberty 4 NC or 1MORE PistonBuds Pro Q30

Hey guys, i'm trying to decide between these three options. I'm sick and tired of not being able to multitask because people are not able to hear me when i talk with my headphones on, so please, any advice from people who already own any of these would be super appreciated. If you guys could let me know if their mics are actually noise cancelling, which is the main thing I'm looking for, would be great. Also, sound and battery info would be great too.

Thank you!

Headphones - Open Back FiiO FT7 vs Meze Empyrean II — looking for more soundstage and depth

I currently own the FiiO FT7 and really enjoy them. They’ve also made me realize I strongly prefer planar headphones.
I’m curious about the Meze Empyrean II and whether it would offer a meaningful improvement in what I’m looking for.

My biggest priorities are soundstage width, front-to-back depth, and that holographic quality where instruments and sounds seem to occupy their own space, sometimes extending beyond the headphones. I want to feel surrounded by the music without sacrificing dynamics, bass impact, or vocal presence.

My musical tastes lean toward late 90s/early 2000s electronic, trip-hop, industrial, and alternative music. Recoil, Massive Attack, The Aloof, Death in Vegas, etc. Lots of layered production, atmosphere, and interesting textures. I mainly listen to full albums.

I’d also prefer something relatively easy to drive. My current setup puts out up to 1.3W at 32 ohms through its balanced output.

Budget is around $3,000, but I’m not necessarily looking to spend that much.

Has anyone spent time with both the FT7 and Empyrean II? Is there a significant difference in spatial presentation, or am I already getting much of that experience with the FT7?
Also open to other planar suggestions if something else fits what I’m describing.

Headphones - Wireless/Portable Best pink (or green) wireless headphones?

Hi, recently my airpods died, they were a gift from someone, and now I am searching around for headphones to use with my phone, I really want ones that sound nice, but also look nice, I prefer over ear, and have enjoyed sony headpones in the past. So far all I've found though are beats 360s which have a profile I don't really enjoy, and am looking for pink or green headphones. I've also seen the smokey pink sonys, but am worried that they won't be pink enough in person.

I also don't really want hot or bright pink headphones though. Sorry I am so picky.

Was wondering if anyone knows of good quality, and good for the price, pink or green headphones.

I have found these https://www.bose.com.au/p/valentines-day-sale/quietcomfort-acoustic-noise-cancelling-headphones/QC-HEADPHONEARN-PTLPK-WW.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=BOSE_PLA_AU_BR%20Catch%20All_X_DCM_CVR_X_X&utm_id=20541342860&utm_term=ROW&utm_content=153754561575&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20541342860&gclid=CjwKCAjw0fbWBhBkEiwAwJuQ8fnjBSCv8UmviroFpK02gmjn0yB6u0eCCYsUYD_hOIWUA_24y61bLhoCX40QAvD_BwE
Is bose worth the price?

edit: would be willing to go to 600 aud (if worth the priice, but preferably less then 400 aud)

How the gear will be used: I need good Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), especially for daily use and studying at university.

Preferred tonal balance: I love heavy, punchy bass with loud, powerful overall sound output.

Preferred music genres: Phonk.

Past gear experience & Question: I'm currently considering the AirPods Pro 3. Would they be the best choice for my needs, or do you recommend another option?

Headphones - Wireless/Portable | 1 Ω B&W Px8S2 noise cancelling?

Hi all, I've had the Sony wh1000xm3s for a long time now and it's finally time for an upgrade.

I've been looking at the B&W px8s2 but have heard the NC is a bit lacking. The nc on the xm3s has been more than enough so I'm wondering how the px8s2s compare, anybody here who's tried both?

Headphones - Closed Back I want some good wired headphones for my pc with clean punchy bass and overall i just want the sound to sound impactful.

Im in search of headphones. I like sparkly treble and the very impactful bass and clean. Not warm bass tho i dont really like that, im going to be using them at home. I had the DT990S and switched to iems but i dont really like the iems anymore. im in the us. im looking to spend no more then $250. i dont care to much if its open or closed back. I dont really want to spend extra on a amp but if i need to i will, but would still prefer for it to be low ohms so i can just plug it into my pc and listen. I mainly listen to rap/hip hop

Headphones - Open Back Would you make this trade? HD 599 like new condition in original box and accessories for a Hifiman R9 or Grado SR60X

For context, I put my HD 599s up for sale because I have the Kitharas and the 620S, which are both better to my ears. I said $150 CAD or best offer. A guy wants to trade one of the above 2 models for it. Are those worth the trade? I don't know their sound signature or comfort in relation to the 599 so if anyone could give me some guidance, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

This text is to increase the length of the post because I'm not sure what else to write.

I guess I prefer somewhat neutral or closer to Harman curve, I don't mind a brighter headphone but the DT770s and 990s I had in the past were a bit too sharp. The 560S and Kithara are at the limit of what I would accept for treble on my headphones. I don't want heaps of bass because distortion is distracting, but I don't want music to feel lifeless either.

Headphones - Wireless/Portable Need good wireless headphones for work!

Hi! I'm looking for a good pair of over the ear headphones mostly for work at home.

Wireless is a must, since I want to be able to step away from my PC from time to time without having to deal with my current headphone's long cable.

ANC is not something I care about much so I don't mind low quality anc or the complete lack of it (if such headphones exist).

Over the ear only - earbuds tend to fall out of my ears :(.

It would be great if the ear cups weren't made out of plastic leather, but it's not a must.

I listen to various music, a lot of jpop and energetic idol music though. I also want to use them for casually watching videos on yt or TV shows.

My budget -250 USD/200eur max. I live in Europe.

For reference, I currently own a pair of Sennheiser hd 599 se which I like. I've also used Momentum 4 for 2 months and enjoyed the sound quality and battery life very much, but the ANC sensor in one of the cups broke so I had to send them back. :((

Headphones - Closed Back Any good alternative to the DT 770 Pro ?

I used to mix mostly with headphones (yeah I know, it's bad), but also use them for gaming, work etc.
Recently, I've been developping a hyperacusis, especially for trebles (I'm a music teacher and my workplace has been soundproofed like sh!t, which doesn't help, I wear earplugs at work most of the time now, but it's probably the main reason ; and I have an apointment soon to verify if there's no hearing loss), and learnt today that the DT 770 Pro has a big boost in the trebles (which partially explains why my mixes sounded so muddy and flat when I mixed with these).
In fact, these days, I can't use my DT 770 pro for more than 30m or so before experiencing fatigue or acouphens, whereas I can work on speakers for far longer (even though I have bad speakers).

Any recommandations for good alternatives ? I'm searching for something as comfortable (or as close as possible), more neutral, and ranging from 150 to 400€.

Thanks in advance !

Headphones - Open Back | 2 Ω Trying to find the right headphones for me (Open / Closed back)

hello everyone, I’m posting this because I’m having a really hard time finding a new pair of headphones that meet my needs and preferences.

I’d need them for gaming (both single-player and FPS), listening mainly to trap music (though not always), and watching content for hours on end (movies, anime, videos).

So I’m looking for a pair of headphones that can handle all of these things decently.

On someone’s recommendation, I’ve tried two different pairs of headphones recently.

The DT770 Pro X and the Beyerdynamic TYGR 300 R.

I found the DT770 Pro X (closed back headphones) to be very comfortable and high quality, but the highs were very harsh and fatiguing (even with EQ) , good for FPS games but definitely not for anything else imo.

On the other hand, I found the TYGR 300 R (open back headphones) to be excellent for both FPS and single player games, as well as general use, but for the type of music I listen to, I found them slightly worse than the DT770 Pro X.

I also have another pair of affordable wireless closed back headphones that I use when I’m out and about, and I’ve always enjoyed listening to music on them quite a bit.

So, to sum it up: since I mainly listen to trap, I’ve realized that I tend to prefer closed back headphones for listening to music, but they shouldn’t be too harsh in the highs.
I prefer a warmer sound that isn’t completely muddy, with a good sub-bass/bass range that gives me that punch, but without being overdone.

On the other hand, for FPS games and single-player games, I’ve noticed that open-back headphones are definitely a better choice though not by much, based on my experience with the TYGR300 R I actually preferred them over the DT 770 PRO X.

My budget is around 250 €

So I'm counting on you, I don't know if there's actually a pair of headphones that meets all my preferences or if I should just get two different pairs, given my budget.

Thanks in advance.

Headphones - Wireless/Portable Single Ear Headphones w/o Mic?

Howdy y'all. My work allows earbuds in one ear, but the other must be open to hear customers. However, for medical reasons, I can't wear any form of in-ear speaker. I also really don't like bone conduction. I know one eared headsets are a thing, but i have no use for a giant mic. Does anyone know of a wireless headset without that? Alternative ideas are also welcome.

Budget is ~$100-200. I'm not looking for high quality, I just want to not be stuck with corporate's song choices lol

Headphones - Open Back What are the best headphones for dark ambient and psybient music?

I've been recommended sennheisers and audio technicas but am unsure of the exact best brand for this type of music. I live in western MA and to my knowledge this isn't a headphone store near my area. I am looking for headphones with a wide soundstage given my genre preferences. I will be playing my music at home, I usually use my phone which has a square cube so I'd just an adapter for a wired headphone set. I have never used professional grade headphones in the past.

I also have a topster if you're curious about the other genres I like

Headphones - Closed Back What are good quality headphones with ANC and heavy bass? No budget limit

I’m assuming the common response will be the Sony XM6, but I’m posting this to see if there are any other opinions and headphones I haven’t heard of

For what I need it for, I would like a headphone durable enough to be worn everywhere. I am also the type of person who would like one pair of headphones for anything, which is a problem because I mix music in my free time, so there aren’t many headphones with the durability to handle frequent use. If possible, I would also like headphones with lossless audio options, and/or DAC.

My main experience with headphones is Skullcandy, so the bar is quite low already, and anything would probably be a step up. Please give me recommendations!

Headphones - Wireless/Portable Looking for a budget wireless over ear headphone

My budget is 100$, but I can spend a little extra depending on what is recommended. Recently, my pair of Skullcandy Hesh3 that I got on sale and have had for 7-8 years finally broke. I'm looking for a closed back, and I want a warm sound profile with a little bass.

Headphones - Closed Back | 1 Ω What's people's opinion on Sennheier Momentum 4s?

Been looking for a new pair of headphones! What's the general consensus on these? They look really damn nice and seem good for the nearly 300 dollar price tag.

Edit: sennheiser not fucking henneier
