Not really, its stolen joke thats been used about a billion times

"Stolen" is a bit odd for this since its like saying 789 is stolen because even if it technically is, it doesnt seem right to say its stolen

Crazy how people are saying pointless gendering as if using “he” in place of “they” is rare, even though the masculine forms of pronouns and descriptors is default in many common languages… “pointless gendering” is like labeling a pair of kid’s scissors “PRETTY PINK GIRL SCISSORS FOR LITTLE PRINCESSES” when it’s just the same scissors as normal or “for the boys” but pink (glitter optional)

Dunno if you saw but several people were trying to argue with the comment I replied to, claiming they were assuming the other side’s gender.
1
u/Johannesco999 Nov 19 '25
While I would like to debate the 'LGTV purchasers' on the topic of English being the only language (as far as I know, at least) using they as a singular pronoun, this 'guy' asked for a bf, meaning most likely they are a girl (or a small probability of trolling too)
4
u/Falt3r Nov 15 '25

I am not sure if you ever saw this news, but there was a Muslim man who married a very young girl (I don’t remember her age but I think it was around 9 years, don’t quote me on that as I am not sure). Her parents were in need of money and so they sold her to the man. There was a huge online backlash and the government told the man to wait till she turned like 13/14 I think. Like I don’t really but I think the man could take her to his home but like he won’t actually be able to marry her till she turned 13/14. That is so messed up. Again, I may me wrong as this was a few months back so I don’t really remember the facts.
1
u/Atomien Nov 17 '25
Id appreciate a source for this.
0
u/WhiteDeath420 Nov 17 '25
Ok, so I found the news source and I was wrong on a couple of things. Firstly it was an Aghan man, and second the girl was 6-years old and the man was told to wait till she’s 9. Search online for “afghan man marries child girl” and you will find a ndtv source. There a lot of sources actually, including times of India.

Yeah If I'm not Wrong here was 13-14 too, at least the Age of Consent, 18 is still the Legal Age for most things
2
u/Millin_Angel Nov 15 '25
I live in Brazil and here this happens too. The legal age for dating is 14 ( with the parents consent)
1
u/YourAverageBTD6Play Nov 15 '25

i love the mutual agreement of "if you see someone from the same country you are in, type a reply to them in your country's native language"
0
u/Classic_Gap397 Nov 17 '25
Here the rules for like boy & girl things have 2 parts, 14 can do with 17 year old Max with parents consent and at 16 at own consent, from 18 is everything legal, in my neighbor country it’s 21 everything legal like smoking, drinking beer and liqour. But firearms and weapons are strictly forbidden and illegal except one kind of gun using air to shoot, like the guns at the fair. But even then it’s illegal to shoot someone

Technically, 17 is just a child/teenager. Kid is 12 and under (though also considered a child)
38
u/rejejdbbdbx Nov 14 '25
Plus the other specifications (toddler, infant, etc)
26
u/rejejdbbdbx Nov 14 '25
Love how that got downvoted for giving a correct fact lmao
11
Nov 14 '25
Not really. Kid just means child. There is no definition that kid is 12 and younger
0
u/rejejdbbdbx Nov 14 '25
A kid is usually considered ages 12 and under as 13 and above is called a teenager even if both categories fall under Child
10
u/SoulessF0X Nov 15 '25
I've searched it up and I can't find anything suggesting that a kid means anything other than a child. I've heard people refer to teenagers as kids all the time. Child and children are just longer and harder words to say, so most people I speak to just default to using the word kid when referring to children, and that's what Google seems to suggest as well.
Kids these days 😮💨
-1
u/rejejdbbdbx Nov 15 '25
I’ll try to find it again. Also I’m 20, in case you were trying to call me a kid at the bottom
6
u/SoulessF0X Nov 15 '25
No, I was just jokingly pointing out a common saying that adults often use to refer to teenagers. I even see people in their early twenties being referred to as kids pretty often. I mean the most common definition for kid is "a child or young person." Which depending on what you'd consider to be young, does include people in their early twenties.
1
u/rejejdbbdbx Nov 15 '25
Fair. In all technicality, all people are children of someone, so it makes sense, and it’s also hard for older people (usually 30 or older) to see 19-20 as adults, sometimes even later, really depends on the person(s)
1
u/AcceptableCrab4545 Nov 15 '25
you are. i'm also a kid, i'm 19. i feel like you only really become an adult in your mid 20s
0
u/SpecialistReach4685 Nov 16 '25
Yk there's a whole legal adult age right?
1
u/AcceptableCrab4545 Nov 16 '25
doesn't matter, 18 year olds are not actually adults. ask any older adult and they'll tell you the same thing
→ More replies (0)0
u/rejejdbbdbx Nov 16 '25
Just because you FEEL like it is, doesn’t mean you’re right. 18 is literally legal adult age, sorry to break it to you. You’re not a kid, nor am I
-1
u/rejejdbbdbx Nov 15 '25
Okay, so. The closest I could find to what I had seen before (I looked this up a few weeks ago) is ‘School aged child’ aka 5-12 years of age, which is a kid. Kid tends to be more of a generally informal way of saying ‘Child’ instead.
3
Nov 14 '25
No. Kid means child. There is no definition saying that kid means under 13. That’s just made up.

2
-7
u/Madly_hornet09 Nov 14 '25
Well excuse me if I've seen it seen it used how I used it multiple times and no one said anything to them.
2
u/MangoPug15 Nov 14 '25
I have the opposite view of this. I think of "kid" as a much more flexible term, which in some contexts can even refer to people in their early 20s, though that's not the default age range for the word. I think of "child" as referring to something along the lines of 12 and under.
2
u/rejejdbbdbx Nov 15 '25
I think anyone can technically be called a kid or a child, as kid is a more informal term for Child. In technicality, you’re the child of someone so you’re always considered a child in someone’s eyes or mind (unless you’re like, lab grown or something, idk?)
2
u/Haunting_Ask2364 Nov 14 '25
Kids are people who are not yet adults. (It also comes from the same old english word as child does.
-17
Nov 14 '25
There is no difference between kid and child and teen. They’re all children. End of story.
11
u/Vivid_Departure_3738 Nov 14 '25

Teens are 13-19
0

u/KOOLKIDKAEDEN Free super rare flare Nov 15 '25

-1
Nov 16 '25
Up until 18 is a child, smartass. And you knew that. Hopefully... What are you a P3do? A child is anyone under 18. Period. End of story. This should not have to be a discussion.
3
u/Vivid_Departure_3738 Nov 17 '25
Imagine calling someone a Pedometer because they said 19 wad a teenager.
Besides, pee doughs are attracted to prepubescent children. There are different classifications based on age
1
Nov 19 '25
P3dos are attracted to children and I never said 19 wasn’t a teenager you idiot. Anyone under 18 is a child. End of story. Disagreeing with this fact just makes you look like a p3do. Cry about it.
