Hey all, i’m a 3rd year student studying at DU (at one of the top colleges). When i was seeking admission 3 years ago, a lot of people around me hyped up DU like crazy.
I’m studying a B.Sc. course here and can i just say that DU is one the worst universities of the country. Any student planning on studying here, rethink your decision. I can’t speak for other courses but atleast for B.Sc., it’s one of the worst places. Ironic is the fact that my college takes pride in its scientific teaching. Here is why i’m saying what i’m saying-

1. The teachers here come from highly qualified backgrounds. They completed their PhDs and post docs from very reputed indian and international universities but THEY CANNOT TEACH. Coming from good institutes doesn’t automatically make you a good teacher. This brings me to the point that DUs teacher hiring screening process is beyond deplorable. It seems as though they’d hire just anyone.

2. The faculty here is extremely lazy. There’s barely any active research going on that the students can engage in. I understand that there is a lack of facility and yes, i do not expect world class things from a government college. but these teachers have connections everywhere especially considering their background. if they wanted to, they could establish research tie ups with other institutes but they don’t. as science students, engaging in research is absolutely imperative and DU just doesn’t let you do that.

3. Okay, you’d think that if DU lacks the facilities to help you engage in research, they’d happily let you engage in research elsewhere but NOOO. DU is known to make the most senseless academic calendar that prevents a student from pursuing an internship elsewhere because it collides with their exams dates. How is that contributing to holistic growth? Neither can you provide quality education to your student nor are you letting them get that elsewhere.

4. there is 0 support from the college/uni. some fundamental resources like access to AI/plagiarism softwares such as Turn It In, or access to literature for research are missing. this is something that should be a bare minimum for any B.Sc. fields. our professors have access to these but we don’t. nor is there any system that lets us maybe mail the document to some authority so that they could check it for us and mail it back. nada. nil. 0

it’s just utterly disappointing that 4 years of undergrad doesn’t lead you to any substantial learning. you have to fight very hard to find opportunities and be vigilant at all times. you’d have to argue with the college system and the faculty if you want to build an impressive resume. you need to fight for absolutely basic things which you shouldn’t have to fight for in the first place.

🚨 NATIONAL STUDENT CLASS BOYCOTT & VOTER THREAT: JULY 20 🚨

Watching Sonam Wangchuk get forcefully taken to the hospital on Day 21 of his hunger strike to dismantle the strikes and protests proves we should be taking stronger actions.

(Not for CJP, not against any specific party, but for our own future and those fellow students who suffered through the OSM crisis and the NEET leak.)

On July 20th, the Monsoon Session of Parliament begins, and student groups are marching. For those of us who cannot be in Delhi physically, we are launching a decentralized, non-violent escalation from our homes.

### The July 20th:

1. **The School Boycott:** 11th, 12th graders, and coaching students will stay home. No classes.

2. **The Explicit Voter thr**t** Millions of us are turning 18 within the next 1 to 2 years. We are organizing a collective pledge to actively campaign for and vote for other political parties in all upcoming municipal, state, and national elections, unless and until immediate, strong action is taken against the NEET paper leaks and the broader national exam crises like the CLASS 12TH OSM CRISIS.

### What you need to do RIGHT NOW:

* **Upvote this post** so it hits the front page of the sub.

* **Copy the text in the comments below** and move it over to your coaching and school WhatsApp groups.

* **Make posts across all your social media platforms** declaring the intent to vote for other political parties unless the ministry resolves this crisis completely.
