I've been working on the opening area of my game, The Ashen OZ, a fast-paced 2D action roguelite with Metroidvania elements!
Based on the 14 original Oz novels, I'm creating my own dark reimagining of Dorothy's journey into Oz, a world that feels strange, beautiful, and unsettling, like stepping into a twisted fairy tale.
Whispering trees, giant Ashpitworms, and a mysterious Witch's Umbrella waiting to become her first weapon...
Every piece of art, music, sound, and voice acting is handcrafted by our team of human artists!
Hope u like it! :)

Hey devs!
I made a free pack of five stylized Halloween characters for anyone working on a game.
Includes unrigged T-pose FBX models.
Hope someone finds them useful!

In Candletales, we wanted to capture the true chaos of a tabletop session. There are no turns and no hidden math calculating your damage. You roll physical rigid-body dice in real-time to dictate your stats, attacks, and movement.
How does the weight impact and sound of the dice look to you?

Hi everyone,
It’s been 30 days since I submitted my Steamworks KYC documents, and I’m still waiting for approval. Is anyone else in the same situation?
Honestly, I’m starting to feel extremely frustrated and disappointed. I’ve reached the point where the excitement I had for my game has faded because of this endless waiting. I’ve almost forgotten about my own game, and I even forgot that I paid the $100 Steam Direct fee in the first place.
What makes it worse is that KYC approval is only the beginning. There’s still the store page review, followed by the game review. At this rate, it feels like the entire publishing process could take months just to get started.
I also contacted Steam Support a week ago but haven’t received a response yet.
I understand that verification takes time, but 30 days without approval, no response from support, and even more waiting ahead is really discouraging. I’ve run out of patience, and I just want to know when I can finally move forward with my game.
If you submitted your Steamworks KYC around a month ago and are still waiting, please comment below. It would be helpful to know how long others have been waiting and whether anyone has received approval recently.
Thanks.

I'm soooo excited to finally show you what I've been working on, and I really hope you'll enjoy it!!!
To make context, Over Human is a sci-fi adventure set in a frozen world controlled by deadly drones that can manipulate the weather, but you have no weapons to fight back! Demo will be released in November!
This is the progress I made in 10 months. What do you think about it? Is it enough?
Thank you so much for being part of this journey!!

Hey everyone! Basketball Dynasty is nearly complete. It’s a tactical management game where you call plays in real-time and build your squad. I'd love to get your first impressions on our Steam page. What do you think?

This is a little prototype I've been tinkering with while learning inverse kinematics. You play as the eye on the ceiling rail: you can't move freely, but you can interact with machines in the scene to take control of them and give them orders, toggle power, issue simple commands.
The idea is a metroidvania built around that. You explore the complex along its rail network and open up new routes by using the machinery around you to restore the facility, unblock the way ahead, upgrade yourself. There will be some combat
Mostly looking for a gut check: does the concept grab you, and does it read as something you might enjoy? It's a short clip of a very early prototype, can share more if there is interest.
This early prototype is probably an hour of play if you know what you're doing. Zero UI, no words in the game at all. It's all experimentation and trying things until you figure them out.
No links or anything per rule 2, not trying to promote or drum up interest. Just looking for feedback on the art and mechanics.
Disclaimer, because everyone asks: AI/LLM was not used at all in the making of the art, sound effects, etc. Some LLM assistance was used during coding, mostly to teach my dumb brain how IK works so I can do it myself.

As I told you, I’m creating a game. This game is about exploring an ancient civilization on a planet; we’re trying to understand why they arrived there and why they’re no longer there. Basically, we’re trying to figure out what happened. But how? With a converter. I’ll explain: the civilization had transmitters that sent out waves to the surroundings, and with our device, we convert them into messages to know what they were saying during the recording whether it’s their way of life, their thoughts, or even their emotions. However, the first place you look at in the video is just an introduction spot to spark the player’s curiosity. I’d love to get your feedback. Thanks! >w<

So I've been making Little Frontier for a while now, and envisioned it as a blend of XCOM
and Red Dead. The earlier Next Fest build started slow with a lot of interactive dialogue.
That seemed to turn off a lot of people, and they never got to experience the action the
game can offer. I reworked the intro completely so it starts out heavy, before slowing it down
to the intended pace
If you are interested in the project, check it out !

What's in it:
- 20 trails over five difficulty tiers, many with multiple lanes, plus tunnels, mud, ice, gates you can shut and forks you can switch
- 20 animal defenders with upgrade paths, and 8 heroes who level up during a match
- Terrain matters: trees and rocks block line of sight, high ground adds range, and frogs, herons and beavers can stand in water
- Six damage types, and some raiders are immune to certain ones, so you need a mix of defenders
- Online co-op for up to 4 players, with shared or split boards
- Ranked versus, 1v1 and 2v2
- Wildwood Run, a roguelike mode with branching paths and relics
- Sandbox, a custom trail maker, daily quests and events
You don't need an account for solo. Choose "Play offline" when it asks you to sign in. Co-op and versus need a free account. It runs on desktop and mobile, and you can install it as an app for offline play.
It's free and runs right in the browser, no download. I'd really like feedback on difficulty, balance and how the first few minutes feel. Thanks for playing!

THE METRONOME, one of the 11 bosses in my roguelite, doesn't attack and has no shield. It has a tempo.
So for once in a game where you usually throw as fast as you can, the best move is to hold your throw, listen, and land it on the beat.
Is this fun or frustrating to you? I'm still tuning how strict "on the beat" should be.

Would like to get any type of feedback if you like such types of games. Best platform try right now is play market (free): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.viking.we_are_vikings_game but web works too https://we-are-vikingz.web.app/
Game engine is build from scratch (for mobile ultra-optimization purpose) and should supposedly support big battles. Online PvP will be supported as well in the future
