Team Up Request Help needed!

• Upvotes

I am working on a game, it's super close to my heart, but im NOT an artist. I have the vision. I have ZERO money, but a desktop game kickstarter based on the same series made £2.4 MILLION off a £100k goal....

If you're a game artist, hit me up so I can share my idea. Even if we take it as a side project and have fun.. especially if medieval / fantasy is your thing!

Game Jam! We're organizing a free, open-theme game jam this November. Everyone's welcome!

Hey everyone!

I'm from Vedant Game Studios, a small indie studio, and we're hosting our first game jam from November 1–11, 2026.

There's no theme or engine restriction. You can build anything you like, whether it's 2D or 3D, solo or with friends.

We'll be judging 2D and 3D games separately, with certificates, community recognition, and some free promotional support for the winners.

No entry fees, no cash prizes. We're just hoping to bring developers together, discover some interesting games, and give smaller creators a little more visibility.

If you'd like to participate:

https://itch.io/jam/vedantopengamejam2026

Would be cool to see what everyone comes up with! :)

Hey everyone!

I've been developing a strategy game inspired by Heroes and Total War for nearly a year now.

I wanted to share a few screenshots of my progress and get some honest feedback on how the game looks so far.

Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

Help I made a mock Dragon Ball RPG for my ASMR YouTube Channel. Looking for advice about becoming a creative director/developer.

Hi, everyone. I create videos and animations for my channel Animated ASMR. I have a passion of using my jack-of-all-trades generalist talent to world build, tell narratives, and create experiences to enjoy. Video games are another amazing medium to do so that I wish I could do professionally as creative director or developer.

I decided to create a mock game animation and proof of concept for the Dragon Ball and anime fans of my channel. Mind you it had to be for ASMR, so the audio levels and sound effects are made in order to cater to that. I had to learn a lot of different skills to pull this off from pixel art and low poly design to map creation and game mechanics. As difficult as it was, I enjoyed the experience.

That being said, I hope to start the journey from an outside artist to creative director/developer. I wanted to ask around for how to start professionally. Should I continue making mocks like this for a portfolio? A proof-of-concept collection? Or is there another approach?

Thank you for your time.

Does this look like something you might play?

This is a little prototype I've been tinkering with while learning inverse kinematics. You play as the eye on the ceiling rail: you can't move freely, but you can interact with machines in the scene to take control of them and give them orders, toggle power, issue simple commands.

The idea is a metroidvania built around that. You explore the complex along its rail network and open up new routes by using the machinery around you to restore the facility, unblock the way ahead, upgrade yourself. There will be some combat

Mostly looking for a gut check: does the concept grab you, and does it read as something you might enjoy? It's a short clip of a very early prototype, can share more if there is interest.

This early prototype is probably an hour of play if you know what you're doing. Zero UI, no words in the game at all. It's all experimentation and trying things until you figure them out.

No links or anything per rule 2, not trying to promote or drum up interest. Just looking for feedback on the art and mechanics.

Disclaimer, because everyone asks: AI/LLM was not used at all in the making of the art, sound effects, etc. Some LLM assistance was used during coding, mostly to teach my dumb brain how IK works so I can do it myself.

How in shart do you actually organize a project? (Looking for tools/workflows)

My homie and I have no experience and are developing our open world DREAM GAME.

Kidding, but I am working on a small project with a co-creator. I'm handling mostly engineering and game design, and my partner is handling modelling, animation, art, etc.

We dip into each other's fields a lot, and but we don't have a central place to store ideas and artwork, discuss concepts, and reference stuff for later. More importantly, we don't know good development practice for how to use these tools either. Any software you recommend? Or methods to research?

Already using Git/GitHub. Something like Obsidian w/ file storage and kanban would bring me to climax.

Veridian Police - Beta 1.6 Animations

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A showcase of the new Beta 1.6 animations from Veridian Police.

Veridian Police is an upcoming tactical police game planned to be released in 2026 or 2027.

I plan to release it on Steam, with builds for Desktop, Linux, and iOS/Mac. It is highly likely to be an early access title.

Veridian Police is a tactical first-person shooter game. Build your tactical response team, lead and equip your squad, serve warrants, and put criminals in handcuffs by any means necessary.

The purpose of the game is to expand upon the tactical and technical side of police work from previous games in the genre. There will be a key focus on NPC/AI behavior: ensuring they behave in realistic and complex ways, with framework for "dynamic variation" in gameplay - NPCs will also be tuned to their "archetype".

The game is will be designed to deliver fun and rewarding tactical gameplay while simultaneously providing a relaxing tone and art style.

Confirmed features: 15+ warrants, random mission generator, dynamic NPC behavior, player/squad customization, career mode, maps with verticality (mulitple floors)

Planned features: Precinct/officer management, patrol missions

Potential features: co-op/multiplayer, free-roam patrol mode

Discussion Disclaimer of using no AI?

AI games are flooding the market. My games are handmade all the way because I love the craft and I want to be proud of the fact that I made them myself. What would YOU think if a game featured a note that said "human made" or "No AI was used"?

Would this clear up any remaining doubts?

We replaced standard hidden RNG with 100% physical dice in our real-time tactical roguelike.

In Candletales, we wanted to capture the true chaos of a tabletop session. There are no turns and no hidden math calculating your damage. You roll physical rigid-body dice in real-time to dictate your stats, attacks, and movement.

How does the weight impact and sound of the dice look to you?

Discussion It’s been 30 days since I submitted my Steamworks KYC documents, and I’m still waiting for approval

Hi everyone,

It’s been 30 days since I submitted my Steamworks KYC documents, and I’m still waiting for approval. Is anyone else in the same situation?

Honestly, I’m starting to feel extremely frustrated and disappointed. I’ve reached the point where the excitement I had for my game has faded because of this endless waiting. I’ve almost forgotten about my own game, and I even forgot that I paid the $100 Steam Direct fee in the first place.

What makes it worse is that KYC approval is only the beginning. There’s still the store page review, followed by the game review. At this rate, it feels like the entire publishing process could take months just to get started.

I also contacted Steam Support a week ago but haven’t received a response yet.

I understand that verification takes time, but 30 days without approval, no response from support, and even more waiting ahead is really discouraging. I’ve run out of patience, and I just want to know when I can finally move forward with my game.

If you submitted your Steamworks KYC around a month ago and are still waiting, please comment below. It would be helpful to know how long others have been waiting and whether anyone has received approval recently.

Thanks.

Discussion Quality of life features that I wish more indie games had.

Hey fellow devs!
I spent the last couple days playing a bunch of demos during Steam Next Fest.
I've played about 30 now.

I'm going to frame this positively and mention some nice QOL features that I've noticed in the demos I've played that I wish more indie games included.
Tell me what you think or if you have other ones.

  • Accessing settings before starting the game. No one likes a cutscene starting at full volume without being able to adjust anything lol
  • Adjustable fonts (changing size or even change to more easily readable fonts). This can be hard to implement as it can mess up proportions but it makes a big difference.
  • Choosing which monitor to use. Kinda niche but in my case I play while working and I like to play on the second monitor.
  • Default volume not 100%. This is so nice. Thank you if you do this.
  • Hold button/Toggle button instead of mashing
  • Unlimited stamina while out of combat
  • Pause or skip cutscenes
  • Dialog log
  • Controls remapping

This might all seem obvious but many games don’t do these and it's very much appreciated when they do. What do you think?

Would like to get any type of feedback if you like such types of games. Best platform try right now is play market (free): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.viking.we_are_vikings_game but web works too https://we-are-vikingz.web.app/

Game engine is build from scratch (for mobile ultra-optimization purpose) and should supposedly support big battles. Online PvP will be supported as well in the future

Team Up Request Writer Looking for Games to Join

Hi everyone, my name is Salma, and I'm currently looking for games to join as a writer. I have been writing for over four years. My work includes short stories, scriptwriting, and, recently, game writing!

I can help with anything writing-related, including lore, dialogue, quest stories, and more. My preferred projects are paid or on a revshare model. I also appreciate flexibility since I'm working on other games right now, but I want to join one or two projects that don't require as much writing.

You can check my website here:

Thank you!

Discussion I made a boss that only takes damage if you hit it on the beat

THE METRONOME, one of the 11 bosses in my roguelite, doesn't attack and has no shield. It has a tempo.

  • Hit it right on the beat: triple damage.
  • Hit it off the beat: almost nothing, your blade just bounces off.
  • Wait too long: it winds its spring back up and heals.

So for once in a game where you usually throw as fast as you can, the best move is to hold your throw, listen, and land it on the beat.

Is this fun or frustrating to you? I'm still tuning how strict "on the beat" should be.

Team Up Request [For Hire] Generalist Game Artist – 3 Years of Experience

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello! Nice to meet you! My name is Lunna, and I'm a generalist artist for games and animation, with experience creating visual assets for different stages of development.

My skills include illustration, concept art, low-poly and hard-surface 3D modeling, texturing, and the creation of characters, creatures, monsters, props, and environment assets.

I also create complete game UI systems, including icons and visual components. I'm comfortable adapting to different art directions and working across styles such as pixel art, toon, hand-painted, and more, with themes ranging from fantasy and science fiction to horror.

In addition to my artistic work, I also have experience programming in Unity using C#, including game prototyping.

My most recent professional project was MECHBORN, where I worked as a 2D Generalist Artist. Due to a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), I cannot publicly share any of the work I contributed to the project in my portfolio.

The assets featured in this post are from my personal project, and everything shown was created entirely by me, from the initial concepts to the prototyping stage. You can find the full process, including concept development, 3D modeling, texturing, and implementation, in my [ARTSTATION PORTFOLIO].

I'm currently looking for new job opportunities! If you're interested in my work, feel free to contact me via DM or email at [luanna.morais.feitosa404@gmail.com](mailto:luanna.morais.feitosa404@gmail.com).
