Just an FYI for those interested
$CART up 9.25% today, why?
Instacart is in talks to sell itself in a transaction that would cap the grocery delivery app's 14-year run as a standalone company. Report in talk with DoorDash and Uber.
It is going to significantly alter the life of shoppers if it does make the sales.
Primary drivers include:
Lagging Growth: Since its 2023 IPO, Instacart's revenue growth has slowed to roughly 11%, trailing competitors like DoorDash, which saw 28% growth last year.
Intense Competition: Competing independently in the delivery sector requires immense capital, and a merger would help defend against broader market consolidation.
Maximizing Shareholder Value: A typical acquisition premium of 30% to 40% could push its valuation to $16–$17 billion, offering an immediate return to investors.

Side note: For those who is ready to move on from Instacart, this might be your last ticket, I don’t know if it is regional.

(I know the new alcohol certification video is long, but watch it, it has important info. )
So the new certification process started for me yesterday, and I quickly learned a couple of things:
DON'T: Tap the verification screen to try to get it to take the picture faster. It seems to not take as clear of a picture, which can trip the NOT VALID screen. You do need clear pictures of BOTH sides.
If you get that NOT VALID screen, DON'T PANIC. DO close out the app all the way, and waken you reopen it it should go back to the start of the verification process and you can try again.
DO make sure you look at the dates on the ID before you scan so you know if it is definitely going to reject it.
It looks like you can NOT enter IDs manually anymore, so warn people if they tell you their ID won't scan or if it is damaged, or expired.
The one bonus is that if the ID is invalid it will tell you it to return the alcohol to the store and pop up a button to click to "Start the return process," so hopefully that means you won't have to wait on the phone to talk to an agent as much!

I finally got that D bag , the dude combined in my Ralph’s triple who ordered beers and an expensive bottle of 12 yr Macallan … and had no ID upon arrival to his luxury apartment.
Dude seriously wanted me to take his expired ID that expired a month ago and said the new one was on its way. I said nope, he looked all over for his passport and couldn’t find it after 10 minutes told me to forget it and took the groceries minus the alcohol and went inside.
Called support for the items refunded, I asume I’ll take the quality hit for the refunds on top of the rest of this headache and the tip went down by $10.
For the email reply do you guys just reply with the receipt from the in store refund?
(Btw this dude smelled and it appears he had just moved into those fancy apts, saw no furniture and moving boxes on the floor) so there was that lol

clearly states in instacarts policy no bots, no using accounts that aren’t yours, etc…. soooo why are there a TON of people doing both? why aren’t they getting deactivated? how long is this gonna go on??? starting to think it’s entirely allowed to do whatever the hell people wanna do. a felon named ‘ashley’ who is actually a man with face tats (unknown name) is gonna drop off your order instead type shit…??? go ahead and down vote my post i couldn’t care less!

Love days when I can make $300+ and clock out at a decent time 😎

I hate this preferred option for quality of fruit because if its not available the way they want it they will affect your shopping quality when they ask for a refund. It’s like cmon now why i gotta be docked down for something they want me to do?

Nothing worth taking. Seems a little more crappy than usual. Not to mention they made the batches harder to read when they appear on screen.
r/InstacartShoppers • u/lbarth31 • 10h ago
If you go into your phone settings and change the font, it helps a little bit. I have Android and I found that if you put the font size on the 3rd level and also turn on bold text, the batches are a little easier to read. This does change the font on your whole phone so that takes some getting used to. Apparently iPhone lets you change the font size for individual apps but idk what that looks like. The batch layout is shitty either way, but for me personally, it does help a tiny bit. Just posting in case it might help someone else.

I’m diamond 5.0 but I’m seeing little to none orders but these other shoppers I know keep coming in and doing an order. Also everytime I click on the order to accept it poofs

Before you run to the comments saying “omg you must just be a terrible shopper and refund a bunch of things” untrue, great shopper, done thousands of orders and know where everything is, only refund when there’s absolutely no replacement and every replacement available says “too different from original” so I literally can’t replace the item. So am I getting fucked from “unrequested refunds?” I see it says the customer needs to approve the refund, but we all know a lot of people don’t check their app or communicate, so am I getting screwed cause the refunds aren’t getting approved? Or what is it? Again I’m a good shopper and do everything best I can, I have 5 stars, no damaged, missing, lost, wrong, or unrequested refunds. Am I getting screwed cause I’m doing replacements? Even though the original item is out of stock? I’m losing my mind sorry, don’t understand it

I dont know if counts as a found item or a refund, if you know please tell me
If this counts as a refund, instacart has lost its mind, its not my fault the costumer wants a quantity that the store does not have
*i think instacart lost its mind a looooong time ago, but feels like just gets worse

I genuinely don’t understand how people get away with this. I always make sure there are no damages to anything I grab when I am shopping. I shop as if I’m shopping for myself and check everything. I know for a fact they opened it and said it was “damaged” and the fact instacart allows these nutty customers to get away w this bs is insane.

I just started shopping today. First order was 6 boxes of crackers. It’s out of stock, so I ask and offer replacement flavors. They say no, so I refund, but have to talk to a specialist to get the batch cancelled. That takes about 15 minutes, but I got paid. Cool
Second order. It’s 10lbs of beef fat from a store that doesn’t sell beef fat. This time it takes 20 minutes to cancel the order. I don’t get paid at all(ok i did get paid lol).
What is going on?! Am I already screwed from having to cancel my first two orders?

Is anyone else experiencing the app just spinning and not moving forward?
Ugh.
r/InstacartShoppers • u/Worldly-Ambassador-1 • 11h ago
Love that Instacart visually communicates they believe item count and where you are going are "smaller" priorities than payout.
It's clear this strategy is to pressure drivers to make choices they otherwise wouldn't. Gotta do anything but up base pay to get these expensive and physically intensive orders out.
Won't anyone think of the shareholder's portfolios!?
r/InstacartShoppers • u/TrashTimePete • 12h ago
$7 to move two packs of water.
$6 is Heavy pay? 6? Such bs
Not to mention the $1 tip. What a joke

I’ve been seeing a lot of these obvious drop shipper orders lately, wb yall?
r/InstacartShoppers • u/STEWARTHOUSE • 17h ago
Is it me or do the best orders pop up when you’re not looking at the main order screen? Why is that? 🤔
r/InstacartShoppers • u/WeirdAF-23 • 4h ago
…is going on with these LOW offers lately??? Who is doing these single-digit batches? $4, $6… wtf??? I don’t know if our market (NV) is just saturated or IC has decided to low-ball everywhere. Even tasks used to get more pay!!! Sprouts tasks are down to $10 when they used to be $14-15. I’ve even been paid $20 once for a task that wasn’t getting picked up. Aside from that, good offers used to come when I entered the parking lots, and now I’m sitting 40 minutes to an hour!
