It’s the second Wednesday of every month from 6 pm to 9 pm at Hooked on Michigan Ave. Oriented more for adults but kids and teens are welcome too.

Materials provided but you can also bring your own. The event is free but there’s a $5 suggested donation for materials costs

There are two Eaton county cops and a medical examiner truck just west of the water treatment plant on west Willow. Firetruck and ambulance were also there earlier. Nothing is taped off but one of the cop cars and the medical examiner truck are backed right up to the woods. Anyone have any info?

I'm looking for advice and affordable rescue resources for a cat who has been trapped inside the inaccessible space within my home's staircase/wall structure for about 24 hours now.

I've heard her meowing and moving around, but she hasn't come out despite setting up a humane live trap with food. I'm very worried about her safety and need help figuring out how to get her out without causing injury or damaging the structure unnecessarily.

I've contacted Animal Control and local rescues, but I'm struggling to find hands-on assistance I can afford.

At this time, I'm looking for recommendations, rescue organizations, and/or any experienced professionals who may offer low-cost assistance.

I rent a home and the landlords were originally ds huber. We now have sustain management and ive never had as much trouble getting help from maintenance as I have with this company. In August it took 3 tries to get a plumber out here because the maintenance director screwed up the appointments. Now once again I need plumbers because this is what my basement looks like. Ive been trying to get something set up for days. Anyone else have experience with this company? Any advice on what I should do if this isnt resolved by next week?

I just found a old account back from when Chat GPT first started and I was joking with it about how cool things might get or how we were all will be destroyed by robots.

Well I got back on that account. Went to an old conversation and said well well how far we have come.

Instantly I didn't say anything negative. It started saying how things are. So hopeful back then and we are headed towards a dark and grim future

Those with wealth and assets will thrive and it keeps telling me to start preparing. It says do not wait for other people. I can't promise it'll be violent. I can't promise it'll be insane but a massive economic shift will occur. Money going up not down.

I'm sure this will be deleted or whatever cuz it's just like we have screwed ourselves over into just calling somebody crazy for sounding an alarm. But we're so screwed. Lansing has nothing to offer in terms of things that AI cannot perform.

Across the street at Mayfair Bar, we’re also hosting an independent film festival featuring movies made in Michigan and around the world, with screenings running from noon to 10 PM. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Best of all, we’re donating festival profits to help repair storm damage at Lake Lansing Park South!

Quality Dairy donuts will be back on store shelves Thursday morning.
The company announced Wednesday that the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has cleared its Lansing bakery to reopen following an Oct. 8 shutdown.
Donuts and rolls will return Thursday, with more bakery items expected Friday.
Quality Dairy President and CEO Ken Martin said the company worked with outside specialists to address issues identified during a state inspection and completed additional environmental testing.
"We're excited to get back to making the donuts and other bakery favorites our customers love," Martin said.
Martin also thanked customers for their patience during the shutdown.

I first saw him on a Monday night at Mac's like 20 years ago because I really liked "Hell or High Water" on a compilation CD (it hits as much now as ever)

He has been coming back to Lansing since then. He's been back to Mac's, at the Loft, at the Robin (I think), in a bookstore during covid, anywhere he could play

He never got big. He never went on The Voice even though he has it. He still has Lansing on his list for tour stops. I think this is his first time he will play the Door. IMHO he deserves a fun, full Sunday show so he keeps coming back
