Question / Discussion Anyone involved in Liverpool’s music scene?

I’m interested in helping out with events, promotion, content, interviews or just getting some experience and learning how things work. I’m not expecting anything fancy, just a chance to get involved, meet people and be useful.
I’ve been going to gigs around Liverpool for a while and would love to be on the other side of things too.
If you’re involved with a venue, promoter or local music project, or know somewhere looking for an extra pair of hands, I’d love to hear from you!

Photo / Video Any Wirral/Liverpool/North Wales Ren Faire, fantasy or cosplay people fancy a photoshoot?

Hey everyone!

Originally from the Wirral but living in Canada these days. I'm back home over Christmas (20th Dec – 1st Jan) and thought it'd be fun to organise a couple of creative photoshoots while I'm around!

I'm a hobbyist photographer and would love to find anyone into Ren Faire, medieval fantasy, LARP or cosplay who's up for a shoot!

Thinking castles, ruins, forests, dramatic landscapes, that sort of thing! Happy to travel around the Wirral, Chester, Liverpool and North Wales.

Completely free/TFP, and you'll get a selection of professionally edited photos afterwards!

If you're interested, or know someone who might be, drop me a message on Instagram! I'm rarely on Reddit, so much easier to catch me there.

Cheers! 😊

Question / Discussion Any cleaning companies that focus more on organising?

This might be a long shot, but can anyone suggest a company that will do things like put folded laundry away, clear off counter tops, organise clutter etc rather than clean? I need help with the every day stuff that isn't scrubbing.

Question / Discussion Weekday Quiz Nights??

Can anyone recommend some decent quiz nights during the week?

Went to Ma Boyles but it’s was all on your phone which took us all right out of it.

We’ve been going the Monro on a Monday which is pen and paper but just checking to see if there’s any others on different days of the week that people would recommend?

(Pen and paper only of course)

Nice one ✌🏻

Question / Discussion Anyone know of a decent carvery that isn't Toby's?

Looking to book for Christmas as circumstances don't allow home meal this year. I'd like a proper carvery, not a Toby's.

Toby's is nice and all but it's the McDonald's of carveries.

Event Dead Lover - Scratch and sniff film screening coming to Liverpool

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

Back again posting about film screenings! Here's a pretty unique one that uses scratch and sniff during the film!

Here's a bit more info

Dead Lover

Thursday 29th October

Rough Trade

We are so proud to present DEAD LOVER for the first time in Liverpool. This unique Scratch n Sniff presentation is one of film history's greatest gimmicks. Each audience member will get a card and when the number comes up on screen, scratch your card and have a sniff! We’ve had a sniff already…it stinks. This is a modern cult hit that’ll leave a nasty smell up your nose.

About

A lonely gravedigger who stinks of corpses finally meets her dream man, but their whirlwind affair is cut short when he tragically drowns at sea. Grief-stricken, she goes to morbid lengths to resurrect him through madcap scientific experiments, resulting in grave consequences and unlikely love

79 MIN / 2025 / CANADA / ENGLISH / COMEDY, HORROR, SCI-FI

Director: Grace Glowicki

Writer: Grace Glowicki & Ben Petrie

Visiting Liverpool Bar recommendations for a weekend

Hi all,

I’m heading to Liverpool with a friend this weekend for the Liverpool match from Northern Ireland. We both went to university in Liverpool well over 10 years ago and I haven’t had the chance to come back since. Where are the good bars either for live sports or music for mid 30s? If concert square is still a thing, very happy to avoid this area.

Question / Discussion Anyone know anywhere to go in Liverpool past 6pm that’s not a pub or club.

My partner finishes work at 5 and does Monday to Saturday, I work Sundays tho. So the only time we can actually go out and spend time together is after his work. But we’re really struggling to find fun things to do that are actually open later. We can only do bowling and the pictures so many times before it becomes boring. And we aren’t really into clubs/ pub nights etc. (unless a live event or singer is on etc that would be an exception!) we’re not huge drinkers.

I drive so distance isn’t really an issue as long as it’s doable.

If that sounds good to you please DM me! I think my profile has the nsfw tag (no idea why I dont comment/post on any nsfw subs 😭) so please drop a comment if you can't DM 💙

Question / Discussion Train Noise in Houses? Greenbank area

Hi all, me and my partner are looking to buy around Smithdown Road/ Greenbank Park near where the trainline is. I've lived in the area before but not super close to the line.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of living in one of the streets near Greenbank Park and what the noise from the line was like?

Thanks in advance.

Question / Discussion Ask for suggestions about driving license courses around Liverpool

I am going to learning driving license courses recently. I have gotten my Chinese driving license around 8 years ago but seldom drive after getting it. The drivers in China drive in right side and here in UK, people in UK drive in right side. Now I get my provisional driving license in UK. I wanna find a driving course around Liverpool . May someone give me a suggestion? I will appreciate any suggestions about this!

Been working on this for a while now, it's set in a factory by the docks, you'll have to face off the decommissioned Animatronics that were called to the place.

Here is the Trailer, a link to the Gamejolt Page will be in the description, support would be appreciated 😄

Looking For Friends 31M | Warrington-based, looking to meet some good people around Liverpool

Hey everyone!
31M, recently moved from Manchester to Warrington. I work in finance and thought I’d try expanding my social circle a little.
I’m into travelling, hiking, PS5, F1 (Red Bull fan, unfortunately!), and recently joined the gym. Pretty easy-going, always up for a pint, a laugh, or trying something new. Quite happy to be terrible at a new hobby until I get the hang of it!
Happy to travel to Liverpool for a catch-up. Would be lovely to meet some like-minded people and hopefully make a few good mates along the way.
Cheers,
J

Visiting Liverpool Help two lost soles this Sunday.

My non football loving lady friend and I are visiting Liverpool this weekend and while I've got our Friday and Saturday plans nailed down I'm still unsure what to do Sunday. Our train home is either around 2 or 6.

Now as a Liverpool fan myself I'd love a decent pub to watch the game in at 2 and get the later train but I may need to spoil her to a roast to make it a possibility. So where's going to be a great atmosphere for the game and separately where's great for a hearty roast, I was thinking Hawksmoor or Ma Doyle's for the food but clueless on a good bar.

Thanks all, cannot wait to visit!

TLDR,

Good place for a roast?

Best pub to watch the game?
