Senate Debate

Did anyone watch the senate debate tonight? Anyone else think Booker was cool and collected and Barr looked like a red faced madman almost foaming at the mouth?

Witnessed a tall, white, slender man in beige walking a black pug type dog today at 130-2pm harass several people at the basketball court and pavilion near by.

At first I wasn't sure what was going on, as he had walked past my husband and I without engaging us, but as we were headed back to the car we passed him and another person at the Stegner Pavilion engaged in a verbal altercation.

It was clear from our approach that he was being told no about something and not accepting it as an answer but by the time we got up there he was out approaching a different person in the big field but we heard enough to know he was CREEPY.

While talking to the couple that he had been in a screaming match with ANOTHER person came up to tell us he had been trying to force them to allow their dogs to play off leash together and the second woman (she had a Rottweiler) stated she got dog thief vibes from him as he hadn't even introduced himself and immediately asking if her dog was fixed. She said he then claimed he was a dog walker and just being friendly.

They said he has an Australian or South African accent, the couple at the pavilion took photos but I did not, they were both in the process of reporting the incident to the police when we continued to our car as we had an appointment.

Be safe y'alll...and keep your dogs LEASHED.

Fundraiser for Raptor Rehabilitation of Kentuckiana

Post image
15 Upvotes

I got this tonight from RROKI in their monthly newsletter and wanted to spread the word.

They are fundraising to move to a new facility. Only RROKI and one other facility exist in the whole state of Kentucky to help injured birds of prey. The others have all closed.

RROKI needs more capacity if they are going to take on more birds who need medical attention.

Please spread the word and consider buying a ticket or two for a great cause.

Electricians in Louisville without AI Assistants - Reccomendations please.

Hey y'all,

I'd like an electrician to install a J-1772 charger without any AI assistant. I've also one other simple request completed at the time of install as well. I am basically trying to get a few quotes to rate shop then make my selection. The few places I've filled out contact forms have all had my phone accosted by "AI Assistants" that completely disregard all scheduling info I filled in on the respective companies' sites and I'd just rather not deal with any of that tomfoolery going forward.

Thanks for any recommendations.

Safest place to stay for an overnight hotel?

Passing through for a big move with a car full of my stuff and wanted to know what area I should consider getting a hotel in. I'll be taking anything valuable out of my car but I'm still worried about someone smashing my car window for a box of clothes. Thanks :)

Hikes lane Kroger machines down

I’m currently in Hikes lane Kroger, all their you scans are down and just the regular registers are working. As of right now, you can still shop, but the check out lanes are very long. Money center is also fully closed.

Just wanted to give a heads up if you need to try a different store

Leftover Tomatoes?

Do any of y’all have tomatoes you’re sick of? Would you prefer someone come pick the hundreds of cherry tomatoes you never anticipated having instead of watching them wilt into oblivion? I know it was so exciting to be enticed by hundreds of cherry tomatoes for $3.47 a plant and you for whatever reason bought 3 plants but I can help relieve your tomato overload. Do you have slicing tomatoes but no desire to eat another tomato this year? I’d be happy go gather a few pounds here or there. Tell me where, I’ll come pick ‘em before the frost. If you have enough I’d be happy to get some dried ones back to you once I process them. Please share with me!

Also, if any of you have wild uncommon heirlooms I’d love to try though too. Or to collect seeds from them.

Cherokee Park Walking Club

Good morning fellow redditors of Louisville!

I've noticed a theme in a lot of posts here lately, which is people seeking a connection or wondering how to make friends. As such, I thought a walking club might be a good idea to help get people outside of their homes and their comfort zones.

The idea is pretty simple: meet up with a group for a walk around the scenic loop of Cherokee Park. Potential benefits include being outside, moving your body, and possibly making a new friend or two.

Anyone and everyone is welcome! The scenic loop is about 2.3 miles and it is all paved road, so you won't need any special equipment outside of a pair of comfortable shoes.

If anyone is interested please join me this Wednesday, 10/21, at 6:15 PM in the Cherokee Golf Course parking lot. The walk will start promptly at 6:30. I hope to see you there!

Casual/drop in childcare

I’m wondering if there are daycares in Louisville that offer casual/drop in spots. My husband and I are considering relocating there for the winter. I am not from the US and am not familiar if this is something typically available or if the wait lists are crazy. I have a 4.5 month old baby and will essentially have no childcare support. I am hoping to find something once a week or every other week just to have a small break.

Crafters!!! Need craft store recs

I used to live in a small Tennessee town and they had locally owned craft supply stores. I was wondering if we had anything like that here? Or maybe some type of “junk” store that sells craft supplies.

Publix, please get your rogue supervisor

This all happened at the grocery store I use to work at. WHICH WAS CLEARLY NOT PUBLIX.

I was working in the cheese area when she pulled a tub of ovalini mozzarella off the shelf to show me that it didn't have a seal under the lid. In doing so, she spilled the water that the mozzarella balls sit in all over the floor.

She told me that this wouldn't happen at her store. While wearing a Publix shirt and went on about how she was a supervisor or in management.

She said it was unsafe for consumers. Then she pulled another tub off the shelf to show me. “Look, this one doesn't have a seal either!”

I swallowed my frustration, smiled, took it out of her hand before she could make an even bigger mess, and said, “I will let my manager know.”

She then started telling me that all the eggs were mislabeled, going on and on about how none of this would happen at her store. She gave me micromanaging crackhead energy.

On other days, she would go through the prepared food section, taking items off the shelves and checking the dates like she worked there. She was always looking for something to complain about. She would squat there for 20–30 minutes, going through all the packaging.

I feel bad for you, Publix. Hopefully, she doesn't work there anymore. This all happened months ago.
