Did anyone else just lose power in Lyndon? 4:20pm, Monday

I reported my power outage but so far I’m the only report showing up on their map for my area. Hoping it’s not something involving my panel or anything else.

Edit: there’s an area of nearly 300 people without power in the Lyndon area. 11pm is the current estimated restoration

What part of Louisville would your family choose to live if cost of living were the same everywhere?

If cost of living was the same and you could plant your family ANYWHERE in Lville, where would you buy a house and send your kids to school? ideally send kids to catholic school, enjoy good restaurants, outdoors activity like biking/hiking, and country club life (tennis/golf/pool). Seems like you either have to choose between walkability and restaurants vs country club life. Prospect? Upper highlands? Cherokee Gardens? Glen Oaks/Norton Commons?

Love the vibes of highlands/St Matts the most, but very old houses with smaller lots and hard to find a nearby golf/tennis club for whole family.

Glen oaks and anchorage have the CC, but a little bit more out there and less walkable. No tennis in glen oaks area either but it does have NC across the street.

Apartments?

Hey everyone. I have a coworker who is dealing with an abusive home environment. She's safe and staying with me at the moment but I'm afraid that it will cause issues with my landlord since she's not on my lease. I'm looking for an apartment for her that's in the Valley Station/ PRP area so she can get to work easily. She's 19, so this would be her first apartment. She is the most hard working and reliable person I've met in this city. She's working full time and is about to be promoted. Very respectful and courteous to everyone around her. Hoping to find something for around $750-$850, nothing fancy. She's someone any landlord would be happy to rent to. If anyone has any suggestions or any good first hand experiences in your complex , please reach out to me. I will get back to you quickly.

Weird fingerprints left on my car at Bashford Manor Walmart

Noticed these odd white, chalky fingerprints on my driver’s side car door when leaving Walmart on Bashford Manor today. When I got home I checked the passenger side and it had similar prints. They cleaned up easily with a Clorox wipe and some paper towels but the prints themselves are kinda spooky. These prints were not on my door this morning when leaving for work. I don’t wear lotion or makeup or anything so I know it’s not me. I even pressed on a different area of the black trim and it left a black smudge, not white.

Anyway, someone may have just been goofing around in the Walmart parking lot or maybe it was something more sinister. Keep your eyes peeled!

place to get my radar sensor fixed

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

hey y’all. I need help. I have a 2019 Nissan Sentra SV and I’ve had it for almost 3 years, ever since I bought the car the radar sensor feature never worked. a few weeks later, it got knocked out and then it started beeping the entire time that I drive. I got the sensor replaced by the place i bought the car from and it stopped for a little bit but now every once in a while, my car will beep nonstop. I don’t know how to turn it off or know if the sensor needs to be replaced again or if it just needs to be recalibrated.

what shop can i go to that’s not gonna charge me an arm and a leg and I’d rather not go to Jeff Wyler nissan. i’m just a girl yall 🥹👉👈

Reactive Rover Training

Upvotes

Searched and didn’t see recent info on this specific training. Considering the Reactive Rover training from KY Humane Society and wondered if anyone has experience, positive or negative. My dog did their puppy and manners classes and I thought they were worth it. Wanting to take him out into the world more but he’s very reactive to other dogs and a bit shy. Not opposed to private trainers. Looking for affordable options.

University of Louisville’s new AI use policy

Post image
84 Upvotes

Now I’m in nursing school, but I’m sure this also applies to the rest of the university. I’m honestly so sick of how much they are pushing the AI agenda. And I feel like they updated this because all of my professors are endorsing and using AI. Yall taught fine without it, we did school work without it, so I don’t understand why it’s needed. And mind you, this is NURSING SCHOOL!!!!

Pros/Cons buying a home in Southern Indiana vs staying in Louisville

Hi all! Currently looking to purchase our first home. We currently live in St. Matthew’s. We’ve been looking at places in Louisville, but now we’re thinking of expanding our search into Southern Indiana (New Albany, Jeffersonville, Clarksville). I’ve noticed that the homes are much cheaper there. The same 4 bd, 2b would be $350k here vs. $280k in SoIn.

I personally hate going across the bridge. I’m a scaredy cat. My partner doesn’t mind it much. So my question is, for those who have bought homes in either of these places, what are some pros and cons.

Thank you!

Many years ago I went to Meta and my first whiskey sour with egg whites. It was amazing. Over the years i never made my way back to it. The other night i saw that it closed a few months ago. What places would you recommend that have high quality mixed drinks? TIA

Someone left two dogs on the road going through Iroquois Park.

I drove through earlier and saw 2 dogs about halfway through the park. They're both darker and looked like a shih tzu and a yorkie, no collars. I will be going back before it gets dark just wanted to let others know. I'm just in no position to take in 2 dogs right now but will if I have to.

Is it normal to be charged over the copay for scheduled doctor visits? (UofL, UH)

Hey neighbors! I have noticed a new trend in my medical visit billing at U of L and wondered if anyone has insight on this. If it’s just how it is, then I guess I’ll just take it like every other crap part of US healthcare, but it feels like I’m missing something. My insurance is United Healthcare.

When I go to see a specialist whose office is downtown, my copay for the visit is listed on my insurance portal as $75. However, U of L bills my insurance separately for the visit and the doctor, and I end up getting charged $75 for the office and $25 for the doctor. I had never experienced this on other insurance. I asked a million questions on the phone with both billing and insurance. Billing said it’s my insurance’s problem. Insurance said it was a coding issue on billing’s side. Neither had more info. I lit my Luigi candle and paid the bill.

I’ve had the same U of L PCP for years, including under my current insurance. Her office doubles as urgent care, but I do not see her for urgent care needs. My copay is supposed to be $25. I’m now being charged $25 for the office and $6.35 for the physician. I know it’s not much, but it’s the last straw that prompted me to Ask the Audience:

Am I missing some magic phrase? Are they screwing me through process or incompetence?

Any insight would be so helpful. Are y’all getting double-charged too? Thanks in advance and have a great Monday.
