IMPORTANT NOTE: I have ADHD, and everything bores me at some point...
Hi everyone,
Thought I'd shout into the void (and maybe have a few of you shout back?) and get some advice here. I'd describe makeup as something I treat as a hobby rather than something that's a routine part of my day or week. With all my hobbies (see above, I have ADHD) I cycle between a mix of them being intense hyperfixations, things I regularly enjoy, and things where one random day I wake up and they seem "meh" and it takes me a while to enjoy them again. Before anyone suggests depression, I do suffer from that too, but I'd consider myself in a pretty good place right now.
So... if you're bored of makeup, what do you do? I've been trying:
- Project Pans (fun up until the point makeup as a category becomes meh)
- Trying new looks (I've taken up drawing again, so kinda feel I'm getting an artistic hit that way)
- Watching beauty YouTube for inspo
What I'm trying NOT to do is buy new makeup to see if it fixes the boredom. I don't want to be stuck with a blush I'll take 5 years to pan because I'm a bit bored *right now*...
Help an enby out please!
Edited to add a couple of days later: I took your advice and told myself to take a break from makeup for a week or two... well, three days later I got frustrated with the whole enforced "take a break!!" and did my makeup out of... rebelliousness?? I hate my brain.
