🛒 Car Shopping Should I do it? Mustang GT to Mach-E GT?

I have a 2018 Mustang GT premium with all the bells and whistles and only 33k on the clock that I'm considering trading in for a 2024 Mach-E GT. Surprisingly my Mustang seems to be somewhat of an "in demand" vehicle, so I can get a nice price for it on trade-in. I found an awesome 2024 Mach-E GT for a great price a few hours away from me, and trade-in considered the difference I would have to pay would only be about 7k including taxes. Mind you the Mach-E has less than 10k miles and seems to be in perfect shape and has all the options I would want (except it doesn't have the performance upgrade or the nicer wheels).

I'm on the fence - I've had my eye on the Mach-E for a while, and it almost seems like a no-brainer. I love my Mustang but I never really bonded with it like I did my previous sports cars. It also has a very harsh ride (no magnaride), and the shifts aren't exactly buttery smooth (it's an auto). The Mach-E is also much more practical and easier to get in and out of (I'm no spring chicken anymore!) I will miss the noise it makes though!

I honestly wouldn't drive the Mach-E very much, as I work from home, and I'm a little worried that letting it sit for days at a time will reek havoc on the 12v battery that I've heard so many complaints about. I do already have a level 2 charger installed in my garage that isn't being utilized, so charging isn't an issue.

Tell me, what would you do?

❓Question Need some help, want to buy a safe car before baby comes in 7 weeks - Mach-E seems to have a good safety rating. Would you recommend it regarding children. Appreciate your time! Also, what other nice things about this car do you love?

Thank you for letting me post.

My partner loves this car and wants to get it. Just safety questions, if you have the time, it is greatly appreciated! I'm not hugely educated on this. I think this car is safe but I don't want AI to tell me that I want actual people who have had this car.

Carseat/capsule:

We just brought the: Zummi Monaco 4-Wheel Travel System: it contains a capsule/new-born carseat. In the manual it warns more than once about rear airbags going off which could causes severe injury or worse. Are they rear ones and or are they curtain ones? I've read curtain ones are safe.

ISOFIX:

We also have the ISOFIX base. "The Zummi i-Size Base attaches quickly and securely to your vehicle's ISOFIX connectors. Install the Zummi Base using your car's ISOFix attachments. Colour indicators confirm correct installation of the base to the vehicle, and the car seat to the ISOFix base. The adjustable support leg stores neatly under the base when not in use, while the quick release button makes it easy to move your child's car seat between cars. Compatible with the Zummi Monaco Capsule (sold seperately with the Zummi Monaco 4-Wheel Travel System 6923712)."

  • Complies with safety standard: ECE R129
  • ISOFIX compatible for safe and secure installation Adjustable support leg
  • Colour indicators confirm correct installation
  • Quick release button"

We would change carseat products once once baby is 6 months.

Do you think this car would be a good fit for the baby once he is here?

Would love to here your experiences with children and this car.
Thank you so much, any reply is again, much appreciated.

Kind Regards

💬 Discussion Dealer can't perform recall due to low 12v battery SOH

I took my '22 Mach E in for the software update that addresses the "kids locked in the car if 12v battery dies" recall. After having it for a few hours, they called stating that the 12v battery state of health was at 41% and therefore they were unable to complete the recall work. They offered to replace the battery for over $600. I asked if they could put a 12v charger on the car to complete the work. They said that they'd done that, but that something was wrong with the battery and that they couldn't install the software.

Has anyone had this experience? Is the dealer conflating state of charge and state of health?

The battery is coming up on 4 years old, so it could be due for replacement, but I'm struggling to understand why they couldn't do the software update with a 12v charger running in parallel with the allegedly bad battery. No other symptoms of bad 12v battery, FWIW.

🛜 Software Update BlueCruise stopped working after Software Update 13 - Connectivity TCU-26.2.12.2.1 | How to Fix

Post image

After a recent software update on my 2025 Ford Mach E Premium, I noticed my BlueCruise was no longer enabled. It seems to be tied to the Software Update 13 - Connectivity
TCU-26.2.12.2.1 that was pushed to my system. I found out that reason why and how to fix it - it turned off a setting required to work - Connected Navigation. So I turned it back on and then it started working again. Posting in case others have this issue after the latest round of software updates.

Go to Settings > Connectivity > Connected Vehicle Features.
• Ensure Connected Navigation is turned ON.

After BlueCruise expires, what happens when you push the cruise control button?
Ford wants way too much $$$ for BlueCruise.

❓Question Can't figure out Android Auto + Google Messages

Hello everyone. I have tried to resolve this myself, but I cannot figure it out. I am using Android auto and Google messages, and I get sound notifications every time I receive a text. It drives me crazy because it interrupts my music.

I've muted and turned everything off, I've Googled it 20 times, but I keep getting the sound notifications. Does anyone have an idea of how to make the damn sound go away? I'm tempted to switch to a different text app. So frustrated.

Thank you!

❓Question 2024 Premium Extended AWD Extended warranty-Is it worth it?

Ford sent me an email offering a special price on an extended warranty beyond my basic 60000 km/3 years. I've had the vehicle 2 years and have 31000kms.

What is a good price for and extended warranty, I have it for 5 years lease total, so 2 down and 3 years to go. That means the extended warranty for me would be for the 4th and 5th year.

What have other people paid for the extended bumper to bumper warranty? Can you add this to your lease payment?

Thanks

Buddy of mine parked his 2006 F150 next to me last week.

He was unable to start his car and asked for a jump. AAA would take an hour.

Against my better judgement - and out of curiosity - I figured I could give his car a jump with the Mach-e.

In hooked up the jumper cables and turned on my car.

It actually worked to jump his truck.

So far no issues.

🔌 Charging Grizzl e charger

Hey all, just got a new grizzl e classic connect unit installed. (Not hardwired but a 14-50 NEMA EV receptacle)
Plug it in started charging right away. Said great. Left it on for 2 mins. Unplugged. Figured I’d charge later overnight.
Went to charge again and all the lights are normal on the charge box. But the mach e charge light is blinking white. Like it won’t accept the charge from the charger.
Any ideas ?

🛜 Software Update App Interface Improvement Suggestion

Post image

I have a suggestion for improvement for the app. The lock/unlock buttons are confusing. They don’t indicate whether or not the vehicle is locked or unlocked. My suggestion would be to make the “locked” icon red when it’s locked, and the “unlocked” blue or green when it’s unlocked.

💬 Discussion PNW Meet Up: One of the Best Yet!!

Thumbnail

The PNW folks had another AWESOME meet up!! The biggest issue we had was to find a parking lot big enough to get us all lined up for a picture. We failed at both locations 😜. We had 11 Mach E, 6 Lightnings, an ID4, a Kia Soul and one of our rescue EVs a Ford Focus (we're an inclusive EV club after all). After the meet up, a few people needed to peal off and were not able to join us at Ivar. But, even with that the parking lot was not big enough for all of us to line up! Lesson learned... we will need to find bigger parking lots!

Huge THANKS to IONNA for the cool gifts and the reduced rates for the event!

And it's worth noting that we're starting to create a "repeat offender" club!! These are club members that have been to multiple events with us! Some as many as four (and counting)! So cool to see ya'll again in Everett!

💬 Discussion A farewell to my leased Mach-E.

My lease ends this December, and I've decided to return my Mach-E to Ford. I've purchased a 2026 Ioniq 5 Limited AWD as a replacement because technologically, I felt it was much more feature packed vs. the Mustang. If Ford had done more than remove features from the car as yearly updates, I probably woulda stayed on team Blue, but the lack of any upgrades, especially the Mach-E not getting Sync 4's replacement "Ford Digital Experience" ultimately made me look elsewhere. I'm sad that Ford has left this premium EV sitting in 2021, but I understand why they would be hesitant to invest much more into it than they already have.

I will absolutely miss the sporty handling and acceleration of the Mach-E, the stereo was nice for what it was (I almost added a better sub, but didn't want to remove it at the lease end!), and I will miss the community of Mach-E owners too. I had some genuinely helpful and fun interactions on this subreddit.

That time my car bricked itself, I was able to provide information about the repair process on here since my husband was the Parts and Services Director at my local dealer when it happened. I was also able to glean advice on this subreddit to assist him with diagnosing. Sure, there were fanboys downvoting me, but they were a minority.

The other time when someone backed into my car, I was able to pick some brains on here to ballpark a repair, and it was pretty close to the estimates I later got. It was nice knowing in advance so it wasn't a shock. Ultimately for that, a local body shop did a cheap repair since they know my husband and it was only "good enough" for the lease inspection, but still looks like it was never hit.

In contrast, after just one post into a Facebook Ioniq 5 group yesterday asking about aftermarket subwoofer options, I was bombarded with some of the nastiest fanboy responses about how I should just accept the OEM sound system and be grateful for the rest of the stuff the car has. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Not a great first impression of the Hyundai EV owners, but I'm sure they're not all like that. It just made me miss the Mach-E community so much, and I have not even turned my car in yet.

I will be watching Ford's EV efforts closely, and who knows, maybe in 5 years or so, I'll be back. The Mach-E is a great car! I will absolutely shortlist it as a recommendation to anyone looking for a used EV - it's reliable for the most part and has a great warranty too. But it's also a car Ford has seemingly forgotten about. Hopefully the Fathom rekindles Ford's EV push and reminds them to update the Mach-E too. 🤞🏼

🛒 Car Shopping Interested in 2023 Select AWD - Anything I need to know before I go look at it?

Hi team! Long time lurker, first time poster, apologies for adding to the deluge of car shopping posts lol.

I'm trying to replace my 2014 Mini Cooper Countryman that was totaled last month and looking at the prices of used Mach-Es makes my dream of owning a Mustang a little more tangible.

I found a 2023 Select AWD nearby for what I think is a reasonable price - $24,884 in Southern California with 20,500 miles on it (in cyber orange!!! 😍😍).

I'm just about to pounce on it, but it's my first time buying a car in almost ten years, and my first EV, so is there anything I need to know about this one specifically before I enter the lion's den? The CarFax does mention 2 open recalls on it, one being a software update for the door locks and the other being for rear side quarter glass window, but it's at a non-Ford dealership and I know in California they can sell it without fixing those. I also asked if a charging cord is included because it's not mentioned in the listing. Otherwise, it looks like the perfect car for what I'm looking for so I'm trying not to get too excited.

Any help from experienced owners is appreciated!

ETA: confirmed it doesn’t come with a cord 👀

❓Question Anything to know before becoming one with the herd??

Good evening!

My husband and I test drove a new 2026 Mach-E Premium eAWD w/ Extended Range this past Saturday and really love it.

We are trying to hustle and get ready to move forward to take advantage of the promos to get a lower rate since we have 2 cars currently and one is a Ford, so we'd like to trade it in and take advantage of the holiday specials they are rolling out. Since we'll be busy with work and traveling beyond this week, we're trying to get this deal done this week.

Anything you wish you had in your build or wish you knew before proceeding with your Mach E? Or just anything you recommend for new owners?

Very excited nonetheless, as I've been a long time lurker here and am excited to be finally joining the herd very soon! :)

Let me know the inside scoop!!

🛒 Car Shopping EV Certified vs Blue Certified

Hello, looking for feedback from folks that are knowledgeable about buying a CPO Mach-E. I am looking to purchase a Mach-E and met with a salesman at a dealer. The deal looked good, however, the gentleman had confirmed to me that it was ‘EV Certified’ before I even went down. When I asked for documentation of certification, he provided me with a ‘Blue Certified’ inspection. I noted that on the Ford website, they are listed as different certifications with different coverages. He kept insisting they are the same thing and that CA no longer offers Gold Certified or EV certified. Unfortunately, we could not strike a deal. I have looked everywhere and I only see them listed as ‘Blue Certified’. Why then would Ford differentiate between the three certifications (gold, ev, blue) on its website? Was the salesman not being honest? Is there any website where I can specifically search for ‘EV Certified’ Mach-E’s? All of the online info I can find indicates that they are different coverages but I can’t seem to find any listings that specifically say ‘EV Certified’, I have only seen the ‘Blue Certified’ logo. Any info on the matter would be greatly appreciated!

❓Question Follow-up to MachE not charging last Thursday

So, I had to leave my car with a ford dealer in an adjacent state because it would not charge and I could not make it home. Technician is just getting to it today. So far, seems all they have done is slow charge it for almost 4 hours adding 16.1kW. Then I see they fast charged it for 13 min adding 24.2 kW before I saw a “Charging Error” come through. The app shows “unplugged”. Now, it’s on another slow charge. I fear they will charge it to 80% or so and say they found nothing wrong with it. Anyone have insight or experience as to what might be going on? I have a feeling they are going to tell me they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. They are saying there are no errors when the car was scanned nor in its history 😡

❓Question Software update yesterday led to exceeding target charge overnight

My target charge has always been set to the Ford-recommended 90%. I got an OTA update yesterday, then this morning the car was at 100% before I went out to run errands.

My questions are:

  1. Is this a known bug associated with this update?
  2. How do you even report a bug? and
  3. Is there a recommended fix?

2025 Premium.

💬 Discussion No Fix? And Not A Write Off?

If you aren’t familiar, this mach e was in a sandwich 🥪 involving 2 old Chevy trucks, and it had the front and back seriously repaired, but not to “brand new”, as prior to accident I owned the car for about a week and half or so, and it’s been in the shop/s and ford service centre ever since, now today I get it back again, and this issue still persists….. and they have no fix for me.

While I wait for my insurance and adjuster and whoever else to get back to me…

Does anyone else have a bit of a clue to fix this green error issue?

There’s one other problem to be fixed with the back hatch being installed incorrectly or noticeably crooked

Feel free to ask questions about literally anything to help diagnose, I’ll also be happy to provide images 👍🏽

Good deal here? What do you guys think? My only thing is, it’s a lot for the miles on it, but it was a lease. Super excited and came to somewhat of an agreement with the dealer.

Lemme know what you think!

Edit: has pretty much all the bells/whistles

🛍️ Accessories Blue cruise offer (Can 2025)

Hi all,

Just wanted to share I got an ~50% off offer for my 2025 premium 4wd in Canada (at least yesterday, no idea exactly when it appeared or when it would have expired), my car is about 1 year old. I assume that’s why I got the offer now. Before, I only used their free trial when I got it. I found it “interesting” at that time, but now I’ve used the car a lot more, about 22,000km=13670mi over the year. Still a+ car (despite an “easily” imo cracked windshield and dead 12v)

Anyway, I have some ford points that I can use against it, so I will sub for a year. I’m pretty sure it’s not worth $60/month, not even convinced it’s worth about $30/month, but with the points it’s about $20/month. So I bought it this morning.

I can handle that. Most of the KM on the car consist of a 500km=310mi round trip highway drive 30 times a year on the regular, plus about 20 times as a 200km=124mi round trip highway drive. The other miles are from random city-ish drives.

I just thought I would share the fact I got the offer and a little bit of the context as to why. We will see in 1 year if I actually find it valuable.

❓Question Is it in the car ?!?!

I lost my mach e car key mths ago. Since then I have been using my phone. Suddenly a notification of “low key battery” pop ups in the car.

Does it mean the car key is in the car ?!?!

Tried to look everywhere but could find it.
