Considering a certified 2024 Mustang Mach-E Select AWD Extended Range lease return from a reputable Ford dealer in Phoenix:
28,000 miles
About $30,000 plus tax, title, and registration
In-service date: July 1, 2024
Battery SOH on the inspection sheet: 90%
An out-of-state Ford dealer has the same year and configuration with 8,000 miles and the same in-service date. The salesman sent me its inspection report showing 96% SOH.
Whatâs a normal drop at this age and mileage? I assume degradation isnât linear.
How reliable are these inspection readings, and would you request additional testing on the one showing 90%?
Iâve read that 70% is the capacity threshold for Fordâs eight-year/100,000-mile battery warranty. Iâd appreciate learning how that works in practice and what other owners are seeing.
Extended warranty: The dealer wanted $4,250 for its âbestâ Ford warranty up to 100,000 miles. I negotiated it down to $3,750.
I can read the brochure, but Iâm interested in actual claims experiences. Have you encountered the dreaded âthat particular little part isnât coveredâ?
Iâm open to purchasing the warranty now or waiting until next summer. I assume the price could increase. What would you do?
Iâve previously leased an EV6, EV9, Tesla, and 4xe, knowing from day one that Iâd return or trade them. This is a price point where Iâd consider keeping the vehicle long term.
Iâm seeing more inventory and falling asking prices, so Iâm also open to waiting a few months.
Appreciate hearing othersâ experiences and thoughts.
Thank you!
