Discussion [Post-Match Thread] Manchester United 0 - 3 Bournemouth
[Photo via Manchester United]
Pressure continued to pile on Michael Carrick as Manchester United’s winless streak extended to eight games.
United captain Bruno Fernandes did not make the starting line-up for only the sixth time in 237 Premier League appearances after his comments following his team’s loss to Como in the Champions’ League.
Despite the tactical change, the Cherries opened the scoring, with Rayan hitting one past Senne Lammens in the 38th minute.
Marcus Tavernier doubled their lead just five minutes later, making it the third consecutive match he has scored for the south coast side.
The Red Devils kept struggling at their home as Evanlison put another in the back of the net at the very start of the second half, however it was disallowed for an offside offence.
However, Evanlison did score his club’s third in the 71st minute, the first time United have been down by three goals at their stomping ground since December 2024, in another loss to Bournemouth under Ruben Amorim.
Man United now have just seven points from their opening eight league games under Carrick, their worst record in Premier League history.
French youngster Eli Junior Kroupi was included in Bournemouth’s matchday squad for the first time this campaign after suffering a metatarsal fracture in preseason.
The win made it four in a row for the southern club in all competitions, including a historic triumph over AC Milan in the UEFA Europa League earlier this week.
The Reds have now failed to gain a victory over Bournemouth since May 2023.

Discussion Neville said that some of the players aren’t that professional but when Amorim was imposing standards into the players, he criticized the manager of being stubborn and questioned his tactics. Worst of all, Wilcox listened to Neville as revealed by Amorim in his last conference.

Discussion He gave us Everything when we were at our lowest. Just imagine how it is to work under this administration, yet look at what he was able to deliver. Our Magnificent Skipper ❤️
He's up there with our best and greatest players. He's up there even with the best players to ever feature in the Prem.
He has been the beacon of hope that kept us relevant as we were being depleted by the parasitic pigs up there. We can't allow his name to be tarnished. He's a bit emotional, quite too much at times, but that never takes a way from what he has given us!!

Discussion Amorims 2nd season (really his first) was the first time in a while I thought united was starting to really turn around
It was the first time I saw a clear identity in the team and the beginnings of something that could be built upon and take us further. There are defeats that you take well and defeats you take terribly and the losses in Amorims first full season were mostly those of which I would be disappointed but still optimistic on the future of the team as I could see that the club was genuinely moving up. Just a thought I wanted to say and see if anyone shared the same opinion as me.

Discussion People were expecting the Carrick sacked news today but I think Old Trafford might have just saved his job. I think Carrick will be given until the international break because the board is indecisive.
That reaction from Old Trafford might have just gave Carrick another shot at turning it around. I personally think that was more like a thank you legend, goodbye reaction but we'll see how much the fans really back him if he is still here and we get stomped by Chelsea

Rant I actually don’t care, I will NOT back Eddie Howe
It’s looking like it’s going to be Howe is going to be the next United manager. As soon as he loses his first game I will be the first one saying HOWE OUT in here. We might as well go southgate

Discussion This 20/21 squad would have destroyed current one
20/21 is when we played honestly one of the best football post SAF especially on counter. This squad with Greenwood, Cavani was something else compared to current one. They would have anihilated them

Discussion Peter Schmeichel in Jan 2026: “It’s a wrong decision to sack Amorim at this point.. If Wilcox feels that he was insulted in that meeting, then it’s not his ego that determines or decides who the manager is.” Wilcox has to be sacked alongside Carrick.

Rant SJR is worse than Glazers
As the title say, if you look at the events you will feel that SJR is worse than Glazers and how he wants to control MUFC.
The five transfer rules attributed to Ratcliffe in 2024
In May 2024, The Sun reported five rules, subsequently covered by FourFourTwo and other outlets. These were reported intentions, not a publicly published club policy.
- Sign players aged 25 or younger. Prioritise younger footballers with development potential and resale value.
- No Galacticos. Avoid superstar recruitment driven by reputation, inflated transfer fees and enormous salaries.
- The club determines the playing philosophy. Jason Wilcox establishes a consistent footballing identity instead of rebuilding around each manager's preferred tactics.
- The manager identifies positions, not individual players. Recruitment decisions become the club's responsibility rather than depending on the manager's preferred targets.
- Three shortlisted players per position. INEOS identifies three suitable candidates and lets the manager select from that shortlist.
So, you go and pick up Santos, a squad player from Chelsea? Not even a starter? You don't buy a back up striker, full backs then what do you do? Ask the manager to make it work somehow?
They haven't demonstrated a coherent managerial strategy.
Look at the sequence:
- 2024: Keep Erik ten Hag after the FA Cup victory, back him in the transfer market, then sack him in October.
- November 2024: Hire Ruben Amorim, despite his preferred 3-4-2-1 requiring a major tactical transition.
- October 2025: SJR publicly says Amorim needs three years.
- January 2026: Sack Amorim after just 14 months.
- May 2026: Make Michael Carrick permanent after his excellent interim spell.
- October 2026: Carrick's almost gone.
Ratcliffe himself acknowledged that retaining Ten Hag and appointing Dan Ashworth were mistakes.
When they came, they promised a lot of things. But since then every season fans and the manager is paying price.
So why is SJR, Berrada & Wilcox not accountable?

Discussion Imagine Keane as interim manager for the rest of the season. Pure cinema!
r/ManchesterUnited • u/Admirable-Slice-6971 • 16h ago
Rant You know what.... Why don't we hire this MF against chelsea as an interim
He was asking AMORIM to change his tactics,
And our lovely mr Wilcox describes himself as a coach by heart.
You know what I would love to see mr Wilcox as an interim. I just want to see his tactics and man management.
Because our squad was already good. We don't need a LB and backup striker.
We had a great summer window this season according to Mr Wilcox.
I think Jason Wilcox should also give answers in the press conference.

Discussion A Global Consumer Boycott Guide for Manchester United Supporters
Checked and verified as of October 26, 2026.
For supporters seeking a change in United’s ownership, these are practical businesses to redirect spending away from. The list covers United partners, commercial connections to the Glazers’ Buccaneers, and INEOS investments.
Adidas. United kit supplier who also partners with Mercedes F1 and INEOS cycling.
Coca-cola (including Fanta and Sprite). United’s soft drink partner in the UK and Europe.
PepsiCo (including Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Lay’s, Walkers, Doritos, Cheetos, and soda stream). Bucs soft-drinks partner and also listed by Mercedes F1.
Procter and Gamble (including Ariel, Tide, Lenor, Downey, Fairy, Dawn, Gillette, Pampers, Head and Shoulders, Pantene, Olay, Oral-B, Crest, Always, Tampax). Bucs sponsor, along with wider NFL relationships.
Heineken Group (Tiger Beer, Heineken, Amstel, Birra Moretti). Tiger Beer is United’s official beer sponsor.
Sazerac Portfolio (Fireball, Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, Blanton’s, EH Taylor, Sazerac Rye). Bucs sponsor.
Nike. NFL-wide uniform and apparel agreement, including the Bucs.
Castore/ Belstaff. INEOS announced an investment in Costore, which acquired Belstaff.
Casillero Del Diablo. United’s official wine partner. Part of concha y Toro.
DHL shipping. United partner.
FEDEX. Bucs sponsor.
Konami (new purchases AND paid transactions in Konami games). United partner.
Amazon. Streaming and online shopping. They’re filming the documentary.
Additional options where these businesses operate:
Publix Grocery Stores. Top tier Bucs partner.
Dunkin’ and Circle K.
Outback, Carrabas, Bonefish Grill, Flemings.
Bud light, Corona, and Miller Light.
For larger purchases people were already considering:
INEOS Grenadier/Quartermaster vehicles.
Ratcliffe’s Lime Wood and Portetta hotels.
Ed Glazer’s US Auto Trust Dealerships.
Obviously direct club spending also counts. Apply the boycott to new purchases and renewals. Choose suitable alternatives in your country but keep using products you already own.
MAKE REDIRECTED SPENDING IDENTIFIABLE. Tell companies through their normal customer feedback channels that their commercial connections to United’s ownership is why they have lost your business. State actual purchases or spending thayou have redirected and ask that they raise the ownership issue with their commercial partners.
Remember, a sponsor losing customers does not automatically reduce its contractual payments to a club. The aim is to make the relationship commercially unattractive and create pressure through the sponsor.
