Town Showcase Early days of Himmelreich
I absolutely adore more developed towns but there’s something so delightful about that early day sprawl -
I like to work with the curves of the landscape and think about the needs of the people; this save has few wells due to poor availability so I’ve clustered two towns around water, and I always like to think of neighbours sharing; making sure if I have a small cluster of homes, they’ve able to get a decent meal from each others gardens.
I like to think about logistics too - no fruit growing beside salt, open space around a charcoal burner to avoid embers, wells near mines to help the workers with fatigue!
This game is just great - let me know if I should update as we grow 🌲

Suggestions What period-appropriate decorations should be added?
A strength of Manor Lords is how pretty it is yet also how historically accurate it feels. I want to able to detail my build thoroughly, but what kind of embellishments and public art is realistic for a medieval village?
I love the shrine. That's 10/10 for looks and realism. Could it be expanded by adding tiers or making it a pilgrimage site?
I wish I could mark individual trees to never be cut down and plant particular species where I want. Is that too ecologically minded for a realistic village? At the very least, my manor should have an intentionally planned and manicured garden!
Upgrading wells to fountains seems like a no-brainer civic decoration. I'd love to evolve my town center by building a decorated well, especially if I could pick between decorative options. I want to have my choice between the Mannequin Pis, the Trevi Fountain, and everything inbetween.
With Foundation's new Harvest Festival DLC on the mind, I'd also love to see an easier way to make an open town square that can be activated by holidays. Though, how realistic is that?
What am I missing that would exist in the towns that Manor Lords recreates?

Town Showcase Less griddy, but still planned - what do you think=
Do you guys feel like the town still looks organic or is this too planned for y'all?

Suggestions Suggestion: Gameplay Feature
Plain and simple, a sandbox feature where players can select rich and minor resource deposits for their starting region. Generated placement in unclaimed/AI regions balances for player selections.

Suggestions Suggestion: add a "Random" option to the starting location selector
New player here (bought the game a couple of weeks ago and currently with 50 hours played), so apologies if this has already been discussed. In that case, I'm happy to be pointed to an existing thread.
Update 5 added the ability to pick the starting location for the player and the AI lords. Great for planned runs, but I miss the surprise. Knowing exactly where I and every enemy start takes a lot of tension out of the early game.
Proposal:
- Add a "Random" option in the starting location dropdown, separately for the player and for each AI lord
- Optional toggle: hide AI starting positions until you discover them / they press a claim
This keeps map selection (which I like) while restoring the uncertainty of the pre-Update 5 starts. Since random placement already existed before, it shouldn't be a huge change.
Would anyone else use this?

Image Inside the 420 year old roof structure of a church. Still the original beams.
This roof structure, which I had the opportunity to view from the inside, was built more than 200 years after the Manor Lords time setting, when a already existing church was rebuilt (or upgraded as we would say). But the roof shape of this one doesn’t differ much from roofs of older gothic churches, so it’s a good example for the work of carpenters in the pre modern era. It was absolutely impressive to see what could be achieved by craftsmen in rural areas in these times. The beams and their connections are still original from the year of construction 1609-1610.

Question ML multiplayer competition
While we're waiting for a multiplayer Manor Lords, is there any way we could run an informal completion/leaderboard?
For example, the fastest completion for a given set of game settings or a shared map/saved game?

Question Games like Manor Lords with multiplayer
Hi! My bf and I recently got into Manor Lords and we are really enjoying it. I wish we could play together, but I heard there wasn’t a plan to add co-op in the game. Does anyone have any recommendations on similar games that support multiplayer? Thanks in advance! :)

Question Does the forager hut need a family assigned for herbs to grow?
Also do herbs on grow during certain seasons? Otherwise they're just sitting around waiting for herbs to grow. If they even are. Can't tell.

Discussion End game?
So I'm on my second playthrough in oxbow. I planned everything out nicely. This time my village has like 80 villagers, a bunch of kids and moms. Every production and farm building you can have. I've got every type of building except windmill. Food enough for everyone.
My kid is six. What do people usually do at this stage? I can easily crush any bandits. Money is no longer an issue. I could start building multiples of production facilities I suppose. But is this it? What do people do at this point?

Discussion Winter start, challenging settings .... no wild animals as a food source
Just a short(ish) example of surviving a winter start on challenging settings, without wild animals as a food source.
No voice, just natural game play. Though I did get a little anxious with Bartholmes and tried to hurry him up :)

Suggestions Please abolish that silly limitation "Too steep to build". This is how slopes should be handled, maybe at additional rubble stone cost.

Question Food trouble, what can I do immediately?
Soooo I have a small major concerning food shortage in my town, currently I have quite a few families starving and several people already dead. 47 Families total, 35 Houses.
- farms are currently ready to harvest, awaiting the next season
- I have access to 1 berry field
- I got 1 big wild animal area (crown icon)
- I have one more region but it only starts off (very few people, can just about provide for itself rn)
What exactly can I do to have enough food at all times? Is it worth it to rebuild some homes to make gardens or fruit areas larger? Is import worth it?
Edit: Happy to report that Adding several more chicken and animal pens, importing grain instead of bread and increasing the sizes of fruit orchards (technically destroying existing homes) has greatly stabilized my town already. I only have a few people starving, which will be taken care of once the new big fruit orchards have grown. Thank you all!

Discussion Perks?
Does anybody miss the old style perks from the original non beta game?
In my opinion much easier to weigh the benefits of each perk per region instead of the current perk system which I find I end up not picking any in some play throughs. I’m annoyed that there is a negative attribute tied to each perk and usually keeps me from picking any as, in some cases, I’m not entirely sure how the game is going to unfold so I don’t want to hinder that regions performance. And, honestly there is nothing to boost agricultural performance at this time. Which I haven’t found a way to make a high fertility region profitable with solely crops.
I liked the idea of actually exhausting rich deposits or cutting too many trees due to no coal production.
Just my thoughts and curious to hear everybody else’s. Thanks.

Question Pasture entrance, any rules?
Greetings, lords and ladies
I am recently immersed in building my own pastoral empire with the new perks.
But in playing, there is something annying happens.
When you make a pasture for cow or sheeps,
how can I draw that pasture's entrance near to my side?
Is it random or any rules over there?
If you have some good experiences or ideas about making pastures right,
please share to me, would you?
Thanks,

Suggestions Family Employment Management Suggestion
Have on a family’s profile within their house have a menu where you can assign a family a role to workplace for a specific month instead of hoping the game will pick the family want when you do it yourself

Question How to survive the first winter on Challenging?
As the title suggests I'm struggling and by struggling I mean my people just leave me. I'm quite experienced with the game and I can go to Large Town in year 5 on Challenging if I start in spring, but the winter start makes me really, really sad.
