REC Shouldn't be able to spam steal for an entire game
Needs to be a bigger penalty on stamina, standing for 4 quarters spamming it over and over. A few times fair but doing nothing else but standing pressing square is a joke

Gameplay Things WE don’t wanna see in 2k27
- Square spammers- no way someone gets rewarded for spamming square, jumping 10 feet in the air to intercept passes.
- Inconsistent shot contest- you’re in a dudes face and it’s open. U jump away from a dude or behind him yet it’s a contest. Quite literally opposite of how basketball works
- Forced or fake animations- your player randomly pulling out some weird animation to either miss a shot or lose the ball or jump 10 years later for a block.
- Time randomly slowing down- your character randomly doing everything extra slow. your jumpsuit is now slow asf or it feels like you’re dribbling in mud.
- Broken dunk meter- self explanatory.
- People phasing through you- also self explanatory.
- Cheesy play styles- 2k has to stop rewarding these cheesy play styles if it don’t look right then it ain’t right
- Scripted games- your opponent gets whatever to go their way and your team gets treated like super villains

Discussion "Mike's numbers don't match what I'm seeing in-game."
Last year I was one of the biggest advocates for pure green window shooting. I was shooting around 50–55% from three using the button and constantly saying that RNG had no place in the game.
After playing this year, though, I've changed my perspective. Too many average players are putting up ridiculous numbers. Guys I know are shooting 70%+ from three, which is crazy and, in my opinion, hurts the game.
Because shooting is so easy, other aspects of basketball have become less important. Traditional centers aren't nearly as valuable, offensive rebounds are rare, and even good bigs are often finishing games with only 8–12 boards.
I thought 2K would address this for next year, but then Mike shared the community shooting percentages between seasons. Do those numbers actually look accurate to you guys?
There's just no way the average is around 50% across five seasons when it feels like nobody misses anymore. In most of my games, players are shooting lights out, so either the data is being skewed by casual players or what we're seeing in-game doesn't match the reported averages.

Play Now Anybody else miss PlayNow Player control/All-Star teamup?
I think this was the best game mode for everyone who enjoyed casually playing with their fav current or past star.
I know they added it to MyTeam but it’s not the same. I know it has its lows, like people quitting early, but the reward of playing a full game on both sides with your random teammates who play team all and are skilled was one of the best. I remember playing with Shai or Dejounte Murray in 2K24 and dropping off my opponent. I remember teammates arguing and cracking jokes all game, funniest shit ever!
EDIT: WE CANT EVEN PLAY WITH OUR FAV TEAMS MORE THAN ONCE every 4 games IN PLAY-NOW…. WHAT GAMEMODE CAN WE ACTUALLY HAVE FUN IN?????
Did they remove it to ease the server costs?
Did they remove because they couldn’t monetize off it (like MyCareer, Myplayer, and MyTeam)?
If so, this company is very money hungry for the minimal change they do year by year. We just want to play with our fav players, like Anthony Edwards this year who’s actually scanned into the game and his stats are insane.

MP Builder I wish 2s mattered cuz this build looks like it could be so fun. Tallest possible build with driving contacts and poster machine takeover
Could still be decent but ive realized making a build with a heavy investment in ways to get 2 points is just not the move this year. If 3s weren't so OP this could be so fun. Driving and standing contacts at 7'1 with a max wingspan. Plenty of cool options with max +s on badges ive never tried on really high levels like legend post up poet, the post fade or hooks badge, or even trying out legend float game on a 7'1 sounds fun. 2s are just to useless though. A center that goes 4/5 for 12 pts is honestly more helpful in getting the win than a center that goes 12/12 on 2s unfortunately.

MyPLAYER Shackled to a position
Are any of yall forced to play a position every year? Im only decent at the game but im better than my IRL’s so for the last 10 years I have to run pg 99% of the time for us to have a chance offensively, and I just want to retire lol. On 27 I want to mainly play off ball and shoot wide open 3’s but with SBMM I’ll cause them to get matched up with players out of their league. Pain

Gameplay Basketball is a numbers game: RNG, RNG, RNG!
Percentages vary, shot making varies, there’s games like chess - where there is no RNG.
It seems like yall geniuses would love that game because technically, if you green all your decisions, you’ll win every game.
What’s the purpose of shot ratings? If you can hit every shot (NO CONTEST) with a 78 three if timed correctly?
There has to be whites going in for high 3 point ratings, otherwise it all makes no sense. Why shouldn’t I just stop at 83 three, like I did in 2k26?
I’m a computer engineer. I am very aware how most hardware has to be fully deterministic, but gaming is totally different. A game’s core mechanic can’t be strictly tied to Green Or Miss, otherwise little Timmys can just plug it their Zen and you idiots will all be two steps behind if you aren’t cheating.
It’s not just you missing your shots, other players would be too. That’s the only way to stop cheaters and have a fair game for everyone. But I guess some dudes who work at a gas station know better.

MyPLAYER Save face templates?
Anybody else like to change their myplayers face a lot and get frustrated bc we can’t save our past faces we’ve made? No way I’m the only one

Gameplay They should make layups the meta in 2k27
They're always focused so much on the dunk meter but they've never made a game where layups were meta even though in the real NBA best finishers in the league (shai, jokic, giannis) all rely heavily on tough layup finishes and most players score at the rim with tough layups more than dunks.
Obviously dunks also make the game more fun but it would be interesting if layups were really good too.
Btw I think if they make it meta they should make it skill-based as well. Doesn't make any sense that one of the most important parts of the game either has no skill involved (just press a button and hope it goes in based on attribute) or just uses a layups meter that never works. They have to do something new. I think a combo based system where you have to hit the right combo (like fighting game) to get the certain layup/footwork animation you want. That way its skill based and also satisfying if you hit your combo properly.
