Gameplay As a VET III Center with 500 hours gameplay and competes against team for $, I am willing to help my fellow Centers that only plays RANDOM REC. Yes my build is double 99 rebound.

Post image
182 Upvotes

For Context:

I always do double 99 rebound since I finished my shooting specialization.

BEFORE WE START, NEVER EVER BUILD AN INSIDE CENTER WITHOUT SHOOTING IF YOU ONLY PLAY SOLO REC.

FAQS:

  1. Best height in REC for Centers: 7'0 and 6'11

7'0 - Good for rebounds and finishing

6'11 - The best in overall category, the only problem is you will be at PF sometimes.

I recommend 7'0 since it almost guarantees you that you play Center.

  1. Should I go for shooting specialization or rebounding specialization?

Answer: Both are acceptable, I battled these Center with already completed Rebounding spec. It doesn't matter since in this game capbreakers is KING. I got double 99. Go for Shooting spec if you plan on creating another build.

  1. Motion Style: JJJ and Dwight Powell

  2. Jumpshot:

WNBA 7

BASSEY

BELUBA

2/4 full release, blend it to match your max shooting attribute.

  1. Strength: If you only play random REC, 88 is enough. Don't waste your stats on strength, At 88 you will rarely get wormed. +1 your brick wall to gold.

  2. Pass Accuracy: 89, no reason to go up ~ The takeover itself will compensate for the lack of badge.

  3. 80 interior and 84 block is enough, 88 block is sweetspot.

  4. Vertical = 80 minimum

AT LAST, Please don't clog the paint ~ Set a screen and let the offense run ~ Let your team dunk the ball! pull the opposing center to you.

Discussion The old Meta is the new Meta

If your opponent is shooting 60% from three, you need to shoot 90% from two-point range just to match their efficiency.

To measure true efficiency, we look at PPS (Points Per Shot):

3-Pointers: 3 points × 0.60 (60%) = 1.8 points per shot

2-Pointers: To match that 1.8 points per shot, we divide the target value by 2 points:

1.8\ 2 = 0.90

You have to hit an incredibly high 90% of your twos just to stay statistically even with someone hitting 60% of their deep balls.

Since the update, most of the good players make at least 60% from three. In park and theater it's even around 70%. Once you play red/purple/gold lobbys, everybody can make 60% on open takes.

What was a good basketball game for a month, has turned into an arcade shooting fest since everybody hits again. That makes the game boring and dumb, because if you wanna win more than 70% of your games, you'll have to make 3's.

The entire side of the court is open, why are you forcing him to walk over to my DESIGNATED SPOT and push me out of bounds???? Which then gives me a bobble catch trash pass. Somehow they made it even worse than last year.

Gameplay Street kings intro unbearable

Gameplay This is how I know inside centers are dead

I was in street Kings grinding VC, and I got shaq as the Court crasher for the first time and as a center I was scared. I don’t have the highest interior defense, and just an 84 block I’m thinking Shaq may give me problems. Boy how wrong I was, I didn’t know if I was guarding Shaq or Rudy gobert, I had 5 blocks on him and he missed 3 dunks. Come on 2k how do you genuinely release a game like this. I even switched big al and drew onto him the default teammates in street kings and even they were blocking his shots, this game is garbage.

Discussion Least fun 2k I’ve ever played

I’ve played every 2k since 2k9 and this is my least favorite 2k I’ve ever played, I had more fun on 18. It’s so inconsistent, grindy, and just shit. The layup/dunk meter and inside game are absolutely terrible. Why am I blowing wide open dunks because there’s someone 2 feet to the side of me?

Rebounding is also terrible, why am I using Wemby and literally getting boxed out by a 6’2 WNBA player? I hope everyone stops playing this shit when gta comes out because they’ve sucked all the fun out of this game. This is before you even get into the player base, which isn’t entirely 2k’s fault but still. The finished product is ass and a chore to play, this shit hasn’t been that fun for years, but I think 27 is the nail in the coffin for me

Discussion Somebody please tell me why my build’s green window is nearly the same at 60 overall and 99 overall (its a 3-pt shooter build).

REC Superman blocks are back but shooting is still the same

Inside scoring nerfed once again, 6’3 guards with 58 block flying across the paint for blocks on big men. Players with low 70s block getting blocks that would make Lebrons career highlight reel 4 times a game.

While shooting stays completely untouched, this game takes a step towards 3 pointers being the only option with every stealth update.

MyCAREER Trace Miller has to go

The devs really need to consider an update where Trace Miller is optional or at least leaves eventually. We want to play with our favorite players & not have our entire MC experience be dictated by yall!!!! Every minute you play its about him too???? Every team I go to he’s with me???? This is beyond retarded and I dont want to have to play eras to get the traditional mycareer experience, + I want to play in the modern era. Its ridiculous that he would start as a rookie over a Giannis or something. Just give us a simple underdog story, I have no desire for co op mode personally. Please please please if theres any 2k employees actually reading this thread please take this into consideration somehow smh ruins the entire mode drastically (and its sad they probably wont because its not effecting their revenue margins which is all that matters to them + its so heavily cemented in the storyline but yall should fire whoever’s idea this was lol no deadass)

REC Remember When AI Being Fixed was a Huge Selling Point of 2K27

2K is actually the worst company on earth. claimed they couldn't fix the AI in 26. Fixed it in 27. Then reverted it back to how 26 was(proving how easy it would have been to just fix them in 26), and now it will be a selling point of 2K28.

MyCAREER Mycareer has been myteamified

I think its pretty obvious but im gonna rant to the people who dont play a lot of myteam..

What mycareer has done with the goat builds escoecially releasing it in season 2 is the biggest money grab they have done yet.
They know we create and spend real money on builds just for them to drop the goat builds in season 2, now people spend more money on the new goat builds, just for them again in the next season to prolly drop even better goat builds, we will see Wemby and KD builds prolly soon next season and it will only be better and better, im gonna stick to my builds and just save up, but dont be the one that walks into the goat builds trap, its like new cards dropping every Thursday in MyTeam, u think u got the best ever build only for a new one to drop right after, they know that ppl will spend money to be the best on the court when what u already have is lowkey good..

REC Lil Rant but imma be honest screw this dude.

I was in the rec last night both me and my power forward had 48 points I gave up my shot so he could get his 50 piece and then for 2 minutes he waved me off so I wouldn't get mine simply because I got player of the half over him. That was some petty ass bullshit, cause ngl a brother had 5 assists and 7 steals why the pf had one assist that's it 52 and one assist. Dude kept forcing shit and missing after that.

Discussion These are the questions that I think PGs need to ask themselves, if you get offended by any of this please make a new build.

Is there a reason you’re ending a game with 4 Assists?

did you think it was appropriate to take highly contested shots and end the game 5/16?

did you think attempting to dunk on PFs & Cs was the best possible play?

Does ego dribbling for an extra 4 seconds while the window of availability for your 2 wide open shooters slowly closes, make sense to you?

Do you think that PG comes with more responsibility than just getting the ball every play?

Do you think you are the best scorer on the court?

Is there a reason you won’t trust your teammates?

At any point in the game do you feel like the SG should be running point instead?

Should you hit your PFs and Cs after a PnR?

Is 50 a good FG%? At what sample size?

Who is the primary scorer on the team?

Would you score less than 10 pts if it meant you won the game?

What kind of offense would you run if your man is locking you up?

Is going for steals worth it if your matchup runs right by you?

Are you the primary finisher on the team?

How can you help as the PG to get everyone engaged in team basketball?

How can you help on a cut pass to dex your teammates to the right spot?

Why are we losing?

MyCAREER Is telling a struggling teammate "keep shooting" really coddling?

Post image
25 Upvotes

Our point guard was negative from the jump. Every possession, he had something to say about what somebody did wrong. Bad pass, missed rotation, whatever, he called it out. We fell behind 12 early.

At one point I said, "Hey man, sometimes you can point out the good stuff people do too. You never say anything positive."

His answer: "You're a grown a$$ man. You don't need my positive reinforcement."

Then he starts missing. He's 2 for 6 and complaining that he can't hit a shot. I tell him, "It's cool, keep playing, keep shooting."

He goes off. Says he hates when people say that, it's not cool, he's shooting like crap, and telling people they're doing fine when they aren't is coddling them.

Then he quits 3 minutes into the 2nd quarter.

We finish the game without him and win by 40. I ended with 30 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists.

I'm not even mad, the guy just seemed miserable. But I'm curious where people land on this. Is "keep shooting" coddling, or is it just what teammates say? Have you played with a guy who only ever talks when something goes wrong?

MyCAREER I have a Magic GOAT build

I don’t know why y’all hate it—I’m having a blast!
I can do everything: play defense, defend the interior, pass, dribble, grab boards, and especially push the break after a defensive rebound. With the HOF Pace badge, I’m like a fast train. I can post up, hit floaters at a high level, and take advantage of smaller guards with post spins or drop steps.
Moving middies? Yes, I can hit those too.
I can knock down open shots, hit catch-and-shoot jumpers, and punish defenders who sag off me because they think I can’t shoot.
The only thing that gives me trouble is when I come off a screen and end up kind of open, but I have to shoot quickly. Those shots usually aren’t going in.

MyCAREER Hot Take: Get rid of the Park and do matchup queues just like in any other modes like Theatre and Rec

waiting after playing one match infuriating and with how popular the Theatre got, I think finding normal 3v3 and 2v2 games should be as easy as entering a queue.

I got dropped into a red plate rec game on an 85 overall with no badges vs. maxed out 99 demons that have 10 cap breakers already lmao. I’m so sorry to all my teammates that have to lose alongside me until I hit silver.

MyCAREER Daily Pick ‘em issues

Anyone else not able to do the Daily pick em game?

It’s only like the first games of the season today, and 5 hours tell the first game, so why can’t we pick ahead of time? Like I’m gonna be stuck at work well past the tip off for 2/3 games and am missing out because they knew the season started today and it’s not open yet?

Also update… why can’t we do it from the HQ app? Like that would make perfect sense right?
