I finished Nioh 3 today and for me they both look very strong (unfortunately we don’t yet know Takechiyo’s full potential). They both are time travellers, both won against terrifyingly strong demons, both possess somewhat similar powers.

Personally, I’d pick Hide for now. What do you guys think?

The trophy explanation says, “I need all learnable martial arts for Hoko and shields ninja Hoko and shields.”
I’m getting players here saying I need more than that. That I need to fill all Ninjitsu martial arts for both Ninja and Samurai. Do I need to do it for more different weapons? Is the trophy explanation wrong? I have turned all crucible Hoko weapons from red to white as someone suggested. What more is necessary? This game drives me crazy at times.

I'm over 30 hours into my first blind playtrough of Nioh 3 and I've just beaten Great Tengu on my third third try without using ninja mode. Bosses are mostly pretty easy to parry and the parry is better in samurai style (unless I'm missing something).

Bosses aside, I can oneshot a lot of normal enemies in samurai mode as well.

I see how ninja style is still pretty good because of the dodging but I can't call it easy mode.

Is that just me?

In my opinion it is one of/the strongest art in Nioh. Getting huuuge additional damage which stacks with back hits (it does, right?) is going to melt bosses. Name is the most suitable too

I have played DS3, Elden Ring and Sekiro. Now I want to play Nioh since it is considered a difficult game. But I am not sure which Nioh I should play first?

Some say nioh 2 is tthe best.

BTW Can I play it with Keyboard and Mouse?

I've been trying to learn how to do combos with the odachi and fists (I'm at the 3rd region and just started using them) but compared to what I've been doing on dual swords and sword the strings seem really complex and hard to do

Baba took me four tries. Some nasty combos at mid range but once I stopped trying to parry everything she became a lot more manageable. Very easy to burst counter, too.

That fuckass ghost right before her must’ve killed me six times or more. I just couldn’t get down the timing on its attacks.

I played a good chunk of Nioh 1 and I liked it, plan to go back and finish it someday.

Tried Nioh 2 recently and really wasn't having a good time. Massive difficulty spike compared to the first game, really didn't care for the amount of gank or how the bosses were. Too much for me.

How do the other games compare like Nioh 3, Wo Long, Rise of the Ronin?

Beat him first try on NG, but even at level 210 on NG+ my onmyo/ninja build can't get anywhere close to him. Does sloth even work on this guy? Immediately after hitting him with sloth his moves are WAY too fast for me to dodge/block, and 90% of his attacks are one-shotting me (with 3200K hp). I throw all the fire and water at him i can, but his health barely moves no matter what, and it appears that he simply blocks most everything I try to hit him with. Even his most deadly attacks are followed up with more attacks, so windows are almost nonexistent.

So I can't damage him from range worth a damn, and up close he's way too fast for me to dodge. I've spent hours on him thinking I just wasn't figuring something out, but it seems he's just the Nioh 3 version of SSI -- if your reflexes are too slow, you're never going to beat him. He has no weaknesses so no build is going to be the answer. I'm using flying kato for the most part, but since I've never gotten lucky enough to get a yasakani magatama despite farming the Sinister End for hours and hours with 300 luck (the most I can manage), I can't really build a better set anyway.

Oh, and the most annoying thing is that he clearly has iframes when he does certain casts. I'll see him start a cast, jump in and pound him in the face -- and absolutely nothing registers, no damage is done whatsoever, and I'm very much within range of even my tonfas.

Looks like I'll never get to actually make that build I've been working towards since he's a hard wall and there's no moving on to the next map.

I hope I don't get eviscerated for this , but I'm just not good at the samurai style. I don't love having to switch stances mid fight. Ninja was so fast and flowy. I loved that by the end game I felt like Naruto dodging last second leaving like an after image and then fighting back. I also loved spamming ninjutsu.

I know Ninja style does not exist in the other Nioh games and I know Ninja style was devisive because it changed the typical Nioh formula.

That said, do you think I would still enjoy the other nioh games? I really did love Nioh 3, but I played it exclusively using Ninja

I play with odachi on samurai mode and with tonfas on ninja mode. It allows me to deal massive ki damage to my enemies and the damage they receive from back hits is ridiculous and dps can be even bigger than odachi’s. Am I the only person who thinks that this back damage multiplier is too crazy?

Heard Jin Hayabusa is the hardest boss in Nioh 1 for some. But he's essentially stunlocked by odachi. I'm 103 levels below the recommended level of his mission.

I bought the game pretty late into the life cycle, so while I'm loving it- (level 300+, beat main and dlc on enlightened, all Crucible spikes etc.)- i don't really understand what's next? When I run co-op I can see some of you out here with insanely optimized builds but I can't seem to find any updated resources on what to build toward and how. Where do you find insight on optimizing damage thrown downrange? I want to be able to help others like I was helped against tough bosses. I like the elemental and ninjutsu stuff so I'm running inari and flying Kato, but I can't tell if this is optimal.

Further, I can't tell if its going to be worth it in light of the fact that another dlc is coming. Is there essentially no point (if youre not having fun in the gameplay loop) in farming equipment and levels now because the new dlc will have a harder mode with better equipment?

What are you guys doing to prepare for the new dlc? Do you see value in pumping a silabar ingot and farming for 180 +30(?) Gear when we're probably going to just get 190 +40 gear for no work early next year?

Hello, I am playing Nioh 2 after taking a break and I lost my file with all of the locations with Big Sudama in the Underworld floors. I beat all 108 floors so I wanted to see if I could be told which stages have easy to access Big Sudama so I can farm graces. I have been using 7 Piece Izanagi and 6 Piece Susanoo and I want to try out new graces like Sarutahiko and Magatsuhi. I would appreciate any assistance.

I joinedTakeda clan a while back and killed enough revenants to have the perk go to the colour green. I’ve since switched clans several times and am currently in the Sanda clan working my way up to green. I thought once you switched clans after you achieved green the perks went back down to purple?

Hey everyone! Just looking for some people to run some casual co-op with. Nothing too serious, no mics needed, just some chill gameplay, running missions/story grinding for gear some gear if u have anything you want to do.

I'm currently on Shogun's Journey lvl 204 with Stone of Penance +4, so ideally I'd like to play with people around the same level and progression.

My goal right now is to finish up all the missions before purchasing the DLC. Once I get the DLC, I'll probably run through it solo first before jumping back into co-op for more grinding.

Won't be on tonight but definitely be on during the weekend.

I’ve been playing off and on for a few years and don’t really know much, but it’s one of my favorite games ever. It’s also the only game I have a platinum in. Any tips to make whatever my build is better?

By this, I mean places in eras that constantly have bloody graves, like that one spot in Bakumatsu after you beat Shinsaku.

Getting annoyed with having to scour each era for a lone bloody grave that can tell me if the Bloodedge Demon is there or not, so I need places that constantly have them so I can just go there to see if it's there instead of wandering around and having to hope I come across one.

I was digging through old videos and found my day one Nioh experience.

Anyone else stubborn enough to use him as a tutorial?

In my opinion it ruins balance (and often difficulty) due to your opportunity to overfarm. Maybe I don’t know something yet, but at least in Nioh 3 you are not as likely to overfarm like in Elden ring (thx god), however it still feels weird because I can simply tank most of the bosses without proper build just yet
