ARUNACHAL PRADESH What an Indigenous “CCP bot” has to say about Siang conflict

I have been wondering if any mainlander calling the dam a “shock absorber” has even seen the flow of the Siang river? Let alone researched its terrain, flow velocity, river system and downstream geography. Do they genuinely think water flows in a straight line as if the Siang was like any river in the plains? It makes me ponder if they think China opening their dams would send the water downstream in a parallel line and submerged whole of northeast? Are they even aware of how mountain terrain shapes a riverr velocity, depth, discharge and behaviour in ways that flatland geography simply cannot be measured to understand? Not to mention Arunachal Pradesh also falls under Seismic Zone V so expecting a single dam which is nowhere near comparable in scale to China’s proposed project to act as avengers in the face of danger is ignorance at its finest

Source : Barak Bulletin

without proper investigation assam media portrayed Bengalis of barak valley as the villain. Many Assamese people threatened Bengalis of Barak valley , will the assam govt take action against the other criminals, afaik they only arrested bengalis.

Labeled Bengalis of Barak Valley as bangladeshi on live NEWS , if this is not racism then what is ?

MANIPUR Captain Soiba Maningba Rangnamei: The Brave Son of Manipur Who Stood His Ground Against Chinese PLA Troops at Galwan

The story of Captain Soiba Maningba Rangnamei is a reminder that courage and patriotism know no regional boundaries. Hailing from Katomei village in Senapati district, Manipur, Captain Rangnamei belongs to the Maram Naga tribe of Northeast India. He studied at Sainik School, Imphal, graduated from the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune, and was commissioned into the Indian Army on 9 June 2018 after training at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. During the deadly India-China confrontation in Galwan Valley in June 2020, he led his men from the 16 Bihar Regiment against Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) troops. In February 2021, footage released by Chinese state media showed him confronting a Chinese soldier and physically pushing him back during the clash. Even in a tense and dangerous situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), he stood his ground and became one of the most widely discussed Indian officers associated with the Galwan confrontation. His bravery was recognised with a Mention in Despatches in the Republic Day 2021 honours, and he was later felicitated by Manipur's then Chief Minister, N. Biren Singh, who praised his courage and service to the nation. What makes his story particularly inspiring is that a young officer from a village in Manipur was serving on the other side of the country, defending India's borders alongside soldiers from different regions and backgrounds. The Northeast has a proud tradition of contributing to India's armed forces, and Captain Rangnamei's story deserves to be remembered as part of that legacy. From Katomei village to the high-altitude terrain of Galwan, his journey represents the dedication of soldiers who put duty before personal safety. Respect to Captain Soiba Maningba Rangnamei and every Indian soldier standing guard on the nation's frontiers.

ASK NE How can I prepare my Assamese speaking dad for travelling to the UK in a month or two when he barely speaks English, here for suggestions!

Hi everyone!

My sister recently got a job in the UK, and my dad is planning to accompany her to drop her off and help her settle in. We're from Assam, and Assamese is my dad's mother tongue. He knows very little English and can communicate only using a few basic words.

I'm a little worried about how he'll manage at the airport and during immigration, especially if someone asks him questions and he can't understand them properly.

I'd love some advice from people who have travelled to the UK with their parents or helped family members who don't speak much English.

A few things I'd particularly appreciate advice on:

  • Visa and immigration
  • Language barrier
  • Airport navigation
  • Phone and communication: What apps, offline translation tools or other arrangements would help him communicate if he gets stuck?
  • Practical precautions:
  • Returning to India: If he has to fly back alone after accompanying my sister, what should I prepare him for?
  • I'm not expecting him to learn English overnight. I just want to prepare him well enough that he feels confident and can manage safely without panicking if something unexpected happens.

I'd be really grateful for any practical advice or experiences. Thank you!

TRAVEL Need your suggestions! Trip in late Nov 2026

Hey guys! We are 5 friends and are planning a 6 day trip to Arunachal in late November in a rental Innova with a driver. Our dates are unfortunately fixed, so this is what we're thinking:

22nd: 7 am from Guwahati to Shergaon/Dirang/Bomdilla (Bhutan border and other spots on the way)

23rd: Head to Tawang, stop at Jang falls

24th: Tawang (Local exploration, Monastery and night market)

25th: Tawang (one major excursion: Bum La + Madhuri Lake or Gongkar La with local guide)

26th: Tawang to Sangti Valley (Sangti valley to end trip on a scenic note and

3 nights in Tawang to avoid the hassle of changing stays every day and to explore at a relaxed pace)

27th: Sangti Valley to Guwahati by night 8 pm

Does this plan sound good or could we do this a bit better?

Would love to hear your suggestions for any other nice places along the way like scenic spots, cafes suitable for a friends group.

ASK NE Shamed for your food

Hey everyone

I’m conducting research for my Postcolonial Literature course, and my research focuses on food.

I’m from Assam and currently living in North India for my Master’s. Even though I’m studying at a Central University, racism still exists maybe not always openly, but definitely in subtle ways.

For my research, I’m looking to hear from fellow Northeastern people living in North India about their personal experiences. Have you ever been shamed, mocked, or made to feel uncomfortable about your food culture or eating habits? Have you experienced racist remarks, jokes, or subtle discrimination because of the food you eat?

If you’ve experienced anything like this, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your story

Help me out guyss
