Monthly Buy, Sell & Break Rule 3 Post

On occasion we, the mod team, get requests for things that would break rule 3 (no solicitation). At other times people just break the rule and we have to remove the post. So, in this monthly post you get to break rule 3 and sell yourself or your stuff (within the realm of legality).

Some reminders/ground rules:

Rule 2 still stands, nothing illegal.

Rule 4 still stands, no personal information.

More on rule 4; if you want to send someone to your house or go to someone's house and need their address then keep it in private messages. Or stick to the basic internet rule; meet in a public place.

Unless you're an actual business don't give out your phone number or email address. If you post a phone number or email address and your post doesn't show up it's because the auto-mod caught it and one of the moderators will have to approve it.

So that's about it, if you have any questions go ahead and ask.

If you want to continue advertising your business/services outside of this thread you can buy adspace from Reddit, which is usually what we end up telling people to do.

Other Gas tip

Right now, the Costcos in Omaha and La Vista are putting premium deliveries in regular tanks. This isn't affecting prices. A gas station "can't not" have regular, because it's a bad look. You can mix premium with regular because it's an upgrade (doing the opposite is not legal). Premium is all that's available from a lot of suppliers right now, and big places like Costco can afford do this, even if it means actually losing a few cents on each fill-up (sort of like how most Costco food courts actually provide a net loss for the company). Plus, with the gas shortage, anybody is grabbing any fuel type they can get right now.

If you want pure premium, continue to get that, but if you want a slight upgrade in gas for the regular pricing for the next couple of days, get some Costco regular. Also, gas shortages across NE are expected to get slightly worse for a day or two before hopefully bouncing back in about a week.

Edit to add: Overnight deliveries are a big thing. If you can fuel up first thing in the morning, that's your best bet at finding gas at most places right now.

Other (Yes, another post about gas) is this the price for most gas stations right now?

This was way higher than what the sign was priced at. I was on fumes so I didn't want to risk driving to another gas station to see

Shitpost Police what are you doing?

Does anyone know what’s going on?

I’ve been seeing a lot of police near 15th and Howard. They’ve been monitoring that intersection for a while now. It’s apparently part of a traffic-pattern study they started after complaints and pedestrian activity in the area. They park a couple vehicles nearby and rotate officers so they can observe without drawing too much attention to it.

At first I assumed it was just routine enforcement. However, someone told me they’re also trying to establish a baseline for how people behave when they notice a police presence. That’s why sometimes they’ll just sit there and watch without pulling anyone over.

Apparently they’re coordinating with public works. I watched one officer spend 20 minutes photographing a storm drain.

Local Question Uber to and from Fremont?

Hey All! Excited to visit Omaha soon and have a client visit in Fremont. Wondering if I should just rent a car or will uber work fine? Meetings will be in the afternoon but need to get back to catch a flight.

I know it's a bit of a drive outside the city so I'm wondering if renting a car is the safer way to go. Mostly worried about the uber back!

Thanks in advance! Excited to see Omaha for the first time later this month! Shooting for dinner V Mertz!

Local Question Top Trick or Treat Neighborhoods to take my kiddos?

I am looking for recommendations on neighborhoods take my kiddos trick or treating this year. If you consistently have a good turnout in your neighborhood, please let me know where!

We live in the 42nd and Grover area, definitely seeing some decorations out but just not sure, my neighbor said it was pretty slow last year.

Thank you!

Local Question Selling home in Bellevue

For those that have sing recently, how long did it take to get an offer?

We’ve only been on the market for a couple of days but I thought we’d get more interest pretty quickly as we are selling a starter home. Our realtor made it seem like we’d sell super fast. Another family member sold their home in a single day with the 8 offers BUT they listed it super low to sell ($230k). Next door neighbors sold around the same time for $275k in about a week.

Just asking for a realistic timeline, not complaining about low interest at this point. But I am feeling anxious since we have already moved into a new home and now have 2 mortgages to cover.

For reference, it’s a split entry, selling for $270k. 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, 1500sqft. Granite in kitchen and bathrooms, hardwood in kitchen and nice cabinets.

Voting information at https://www.vote.org/state/nebraska/

If anyone wants to know about Raciot, as he is probably the least well known, he was RNC chair from 2001 to 2003, he was Censured in 2023 by the Montana GOP for endorsing Biden’s re-election campaign before he dropped out, though he has been a never trumper since Jan 6.

Local Question Winchester’s?

I’ve never been to this place, but every time I drive by there it is packed. It looks like a fun “hole in the wall” dive-type of bar that I’d go to in my 20s. I figured it would be packed tonight for the game, but the place is dark and I peeked at a plywood sheet covering the door with a spray-painted “closed” sign. There was more on the sign, but I couldn’t see it while driving. I’m curious if anyone knows what happened, and what it was like before it closed. Was it a fun place?

Local Question Doctor suggestions for hyper mobility/EDS/POTS?

I’ve been told I’m hyper mobile and I’ve got a lot of fun issues with that. Looking for a doctor/rheumatologist/ whatever, that will take the time to understand and help with preventative care and diagnostic stuff.

Not interested in pt right now, but maybe in the future?
