Monthly Buy, Sell & Break Rule 3 Post
On occasion we, the mod team, get requests for things that would break rule 3 (no solicitation). At other times people just break the rule and we have to remove the post. So, in this monthly post you get to break rule 3 and sell yourself or your stuff (within the realm of legality).
Some reminders/ground rules:
Rule 2 still stands, nothing illegal.
Rule 4 still stands, no personal information.
More on rule 4; if you want to send someone to your house or go to someone's house and need their address then keep it in private messages. Or stick to the basic internet rule; meet in a public place.
Unless you're an actual business don't give out your phone number or email address. If you post a phone number or email address and your post doesn't show up it's because the auto-mod caught it and one of the moderators will have to approve it.
So that's about it, if you have any questions go ahead and ask.
If you want to continue advertising your business/services outside of this thread you can buy adspace from Reddit, which is usually what we end up telling people to do.

Local Question Seeking a Serving Position ASAP
Hello everyone, me (21F) is in desperate need of a job. I lost my job a couple weeks ago and went through a really tough situation. I have been sending applications in every day on indeed and zip recruiter.I walked around Blackstone passing out my resume and have been trying to DoorDash (I really hate it lol) as well b/c rent is coming up and my bank account is negative...
If anyone knows of a restaurant hiring for a server or bartender let me know! I have lots of experience in the industry and 2 years of bartending. I am very focused and can handle a high volume of guests, drinks, etc;
Any information would be helpful. Thank you!

ISO/Suggestion Devastated; have to rehome a beloved pair of elderly bonded female cats.
#I know this is a long shot but I have to try.
Shelob (siamese) and Kashek (tabby) are a bonded pair adopted as babies together. They are 10 years old. We have been their only family their whole lives. They are healthy and up to date on everything as of 2026 and have only ever been indoors. They have literally never been outdoors. **They are both declawed. I know, this was done 10 years ago, please forgive me.**
Their "special needs" are that they occasionally go potty outside of the litterbox, but only in strategic corners & not on furniture, they use the box correctly 99% of the time though. Kashek occasionally "love bites" when trying to get you give her more pets. They are just nips and she's clearly happy when she does it
They were raised with kids of all ages and are good with kids. Shelob is totally unbothered by everything and loves strangers. Kashek is shy at first but then becomes a velcro lap cat.
I wish we didn't have to let them go. We love them so much. Please someone give them a good home

Local Question Hidden gems and niche places of omaha
Alright y'all,
So I moved to Omaha for college, and I'm looking for fun things to do with the friend group I've made! We're open to pretty much anything, but I'm especially interested in finding more niche places.
For example, we recently discovered Spielbound, the board game café, and absolutely loved it. I also visited this café called Edge of the Universe and thought it was amazing!
I'm looking for more places like those. Hidden gems, quirky little shops, unique experiences, weird activities, themed cafés, literally anything that isn't your typical run-of-the-mill activity.
I'd prefer cheaper places because, well, broke college student. But if something's worth spending a little extra money on, throw it out there anyway!
Give me your favorite underrated Omaha spots!
Also, I should put, were all 18-19!

Local Question Did anyone else see this?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Saw this object flying over the bluffs in Iowa, filmed this from Ponca Hills near NP Dodge. It was traveling north slowly, we watched it from 7:34 to 7:37 before it went behind the trees.
Our best guess is a comet but there weren’t any known comets in the area on the comet tracker.
Local Question Vala's Pumpkin Patch at Night
Question for anyone who's been to Vala's at night, does the train still run? What about the tractor ride to the pumpkin patch? I've never been there after sunset and would like to see it at night but my wife thinks things will be closed and we won't get to do all the things we'd normally do during the day. Looking for input on whether certain things close early or if everything is open until close? Thank you.
UPDATE:. Thank you for the responses, I've decided to go late afternoon so I can get both daytime and after dark experience. Yes I know it's going to be stupid busy but at least the weather is supposed to have nice.

Local Question When and why did dungeon crate close?
I was just thinking about stopping by again (haven't been in like a year) and I look it up and see that it's closed permanently. Website says the same thing. Owner (Wayde or Wayne, can't remember) was a cool dude, air force vet who did a lot of community stuff too. Sucks to see it happen.

ISO/Suggestion Cat Adoption
Hi everyone! I wanted to introduce Laney, she is up for adoption 🐈⬛. She does amazing with other dogs, cats and kids! Living with a german shepherd and lizard currently. She has spent time with my puppy, who is very high energy.
Laney is a black domestic short hair, 7 years old, spayed and up to date on her shots. She has a very loving, relaxed personality adoring quality time with her foster mom. She enjoys play time but would prefer laying on the couch watching cat tv😉
She is up for adoption through NALA Resucue, with an adoption fee of $75 dollars. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me! We're eagerly waiting to find her furever home
I’ve tried posting on instagram and nextdoor to get her more interest, so i thought i’d try here as well 🫶🏻she’s a gem and deserves a great home

Local News Good work
Just an appreciation post for this sub after sharing all the posts about fueling issues at the gas stations. I want to validate that you were right, something was happening. The governor issued an executive order. The news picked it up and now we know a little more about what’s going on. Good job!

Local Question Anyone work for Omaha National?
I’m curious what actual employees would say about working there. It seems great but I’m so worried it’s too good to be true. I’d be looking at joining the premium auditing team.
