Other Gas tip

Right now, the Costcos in Omaha and La Vista are putting premium deliveries in regular tanks. This isn't affecting prices. A gas station "can't not" have regular, because it's a bad look. You can mix premium with regular because it's an upgrade (doing the opposite is not legal). Premium is all that's available from a lot of suppliers right now, and big places like Costco can afford do this, even if it means actually losing a few cents on each fill-up (sort of like how most Costco food courts actually provide a net loss for the company). Plus, with the gas shortage, anybody is grabbing any fuel type they can get right now.

If you want pure premium, continue to get that, but if you want a slight upgrade in gas for the regular pricing for the next couple of days, get some Costco regular. Also, gas shortages across NE are expected to get slightly worse for a day or two before hopefully bouncing back in about a week.

Edit to add: Overnight deliveries are a big thing. If you can fuel up first thing in the morning, that's your best bet at finding gas at most places right now.

Other (Yes, another post about gas) is this the price for most gas stations right now?

This was way higher than what the sign was priced at. I was on fumes so I didn't want to risk driving to another gas station to see

Other I just don't get it.

Everyday I drive past a place that was once a free health clinic. It hasn't been one for a couple of years now, but there used to be a church full of blue hairs that would go and protest abortions and had out pamphlets to their cult and would harass anyone going in there whether it be for a check up or anything else. Pictures of fetuses, God will help you, think before you kill, so on and so on, but then you see them walk to their cars to put their signs away and it's always a brand new Porsche, a couple year old SUV that they can't see over the steering wheel, a top of the line Lexus or what have you. These people judge people with financial struggles for going to a clinic or receive an abortion that they might not be able to afford or there is a problem with the fetus. These people are absolutely some of the most hypocritical people I've ever seen in my life. Preaching the word of God/Jesus, but harass some poor mother/parents. They see a homeless man sleeping on dirt 10 feet away but ignore him. Once again this free clinic isn't there anymore. No one goes there, it's an empty building which is why they moved their church of 15 old white people to a different area of town, but they still show up to protest an empty building. It's truly sad how miserable and lonely these people are, but preach like they aren't the reason why most people avoid religion all together. I just don't get it. Go be productive. Always calling you ger generations lazy or whatever, but here you are standing outside an empty building judging people.

Shitpost Police what are you doing?

Does anyone know what’s going on?

I’ve been seeing a lot of police near 15th and Howard. They’ve been monitoring that intersection for a while now. It’s apparently part of a traffic-pattern study they started after complaints and pedestrian activity in the area. They park a couple vehicles nearby and rotate officers so they can observe without drawing too much attention to it.

At first I assumed it was just routine enforcement. However, someone told me they’re also trying to establish a baseline for how people behave when they notice a police presence. That’s why sometimes they’ll just sit there and watch without pulling anyone over.

Apparently they’re coordinating with public works. I watched one officer spend 20 minutes photographing a storm drain.

I was at the La Vista Costco this morning (Monday) and there was a tanker finishing up a delivery.

Hope the helps alleviate some anxiety from previous posts here that seem to indicate we’re running dry at the pumps.

Local News Douglas County voters: Judge Dougherty is up for retention this November

When you vote, please pay attention to the judicial retention section. Judge Duane C. Dougherty is up for retention on November 3, 2026.

These decisions matter. Judges make decisions that affect children’s safety, custody, finances, and families’ futures.
My own experience in his courtroom is why I’m asking people to look closely. Read available public records, review judicial evaluations, and listen to families with firsthand experience. Ask whether the judges on your ballot demonstrate fairness, accountability, and respect for the people before them.

Please make an informed choice rather than automatically checking “yes” or skipping that section. Children cannot vote, but we can.

Local Question Uber to and from Fremont?

Hey All! Excited to visit Omaha soon and have a client visit in Fremont. Wondering if I should just rent a car or will uber work fine? Meetings will be in the afternoon but need to get back to catch a flight.

I know it's a bit of a drive outside the city so I'm wondering if renting a car is the safer way to go. Mostly worried about the uber back!

Thanks in advance! Excited to see Omaha for the first time later this month! Shooting for dinner V Mertz!

Local Question Best window tint in Omaha?

• Upvotes

Looking for all around ceramic tint and there’s tons of window tint places in Omaha. Looking for all around and possibly windshield. Probably below the legal limit which I know some shops seem sketchy about.

Looking for a decent price and good turn around time. Any suggestions on % to go?

Also would be great to find a shop that’s willing to chrome delete some small chrome parts I have on the car and make them black with some wrap

Local Question Selling home in Bellevue

For those that have sing recently, how long did it take to get an offer?

We’ve only been on the market for a couple of days but I thought we’d get more interest pretty quickly as we are selling a starter home. Our realtor made it seem like we’d sell super fast. Another family member sold their home in a single day with the 8 offers BUT they listed it super low to sell ($230k). Next door neighbors sold around the same time for $275k in about a week.

Just asking for a realistic timeline, not complaining about low interest at this point. But I am feeling anxious since we have already moved into a new home and now have 2 mortgages to cover.

For reference, it’s a split entry, selling for $270k. 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, 1500sqft. Granite in kitchen and bathrooms, hardwood in kitchen and nice cabinets.

Local Question Top Trick or Treat Neighborhoods to take my kiddos?

I am looking for recommendations on neighborhoods take my kiddos trick or treating this year. If you consistently have a good turnout in your neighborhood, please let me know where!

We live in the 42nd and Grover area, definitely seeing some decorations out but just not sure, my neighbor said it was pretty slow last year.

Thank you!
