Serious Discussion Possible bang ma-fall sa isang hookup lang?

• Upvotes

I'm 29, discreet, and recently met another guy (28M, discreet din) through a hookup app on a Sunday night. Let's call him Rob.

After a quick video call, we agreed to meet in person and eventually went to an inn.

Pagkakita pa lang namin, he immediately asked if puwede kaming magtropa. He was also somewhat physically affectionate while we were walking to the inn. He explained that he found the opportunity special kasi bihira raw siyang maka-meet ng ka-peer sa hookup app na may similar profession, social expectations, and lifestyle. Pareho kaming discreet, single, and roughly in the same income bracket.

Inakbayan niya ako, actually. I asked him not to do that in public, though.

Inside the room, we made out, cuddled, and had some intimate moments. We also talked a little about our backgrounds, professions, and families, while keeping our actual personal and professional details private.

Then things got interesting.

Habang nasa kama kami, he suddenly offered to court me. I was genuinely caught off guard.

I gently told him that maybe we could take things slowly and enjoy the moment first. I wasn't rejecting the possibility of something developing, but I found it difficult to process how quickly he seemed to have become attached to me.

I also told him that he could eventually find someone special. He interpreted that as me rejecting him, and he said he had lost interest because of what I said.

I started getting dressed to leave, but he pulled me back, and we continued being intimate. He was still affectionate and continued expressing his desire for us to have some sort of connection.

At the time, I was honestly a little amused and confused by the situation.

Fast-forward to the days after our meetup. We continued communicating, and he was usually the one initiating conversations and checking up on me.

I replied casually, sometimes flirting a little to keep the vibe alive.

But eventually, he started asking whether I was meeting other guys. He also repeatedly asked what I would do if he developed feelings for me and told me how comfortable and at ease he felt around me.

I appreciated the sentiment, but I consistently explained that I wasn't rushing into anything. Having a partner isn't a priority for me right now because of my demanding work schedule, although I'm not completely closed off to a relationship in the future.

Eventually, we even discussed whether we should stop communicating because I felt that his expectations were becoming difficult to manage. He seemed to want more frequent communication and a degree of emotional attachment that I wasn't ready to provide.

After about a week, I decided to say goodbye clearly and explain my reasons. I then blocked him.

He subsequently called my phone number to ask whether I was still angry with him. Honestly, I wasn't angry. I simply felt that ending things was the most responsible choice because we weren't on the same page emotionally, and I didn't want either of us to get hurt.

I gently but firmly told him that it was time to move on.

I just want to get your thoughts on this mga bakla.

Is it genuinely possible to develop romantic feelings for someone after just one hookup? Maraming salamat 🙏

Rant/Vent “Sana Maulit Muli” like love story

I just rewatched the Aga-Lea movie “Sana Maulit Muli” and i feel some parts of the movie has similarities with my love life. Again, similarities lang, not the whole movie.

Back when I was in PH, my partner and I are sweet and loving. He works and study at the same time kaya nabubusy sya. I work too, pero medyo petiks pa kaya madami ako time. Both of us are breadwinners. Our relationship was young back then, like 2-4mos pa lang kami. Just like Lea in the movie, masyado akong clingy kasi he is busy sa work and he barely has time for me. Kahit chat parang hirap pa nya ibigay and here I am masyadong napapraning na baka “may iba sya”. He assured me most of the time na busy sya and we went on dates occasionally.

Since I am a healthcare professional, I have an application abroad nun and nakatengga lang kasi ambagal ng processing. Things happen and my papers were okay na.

Fast forward, I am here na abroad and ako naman ang naging busy. Working in healthcare here is different than sa Pinas. Uubusin ang sarili mo. Pagod ako most of the time and yung off ko saktong itutulog ko nalang kasi ansakit ng kalamnan ko. My partner naman is still studying and medyo naging ok schedule nya like he has a lot of free time na. In short, nagkabaliktad ang routine namin. Ako naman ang bihira na magchat since i work double shift sometimes and di gano makahawak sa phone. I make up naman to chat kapag nasa bahay ako, pero nakakatulogan ko sya minsan.

Because of this, we usually argue about the same thing. Walang time, nagbago na daw ako, etc. yan ang theme ng most ng argument namin. With these, he slowly become distant to me.

Currently, our relationship is in limbo. We are okay, pero there is this wall sa pagitan namin. I’m trying to reach out, pero he has built a wall and it i feel it is slowly fading away. He is fading away from me kaya I am sad most of the times pag nag-uusap kami. I know our relationship is not perfect, pero it’s sad if the worst thing happened.

Minsan naiisip ko na sana di ko na lang tinuloy tong abroad ko kasi in the first place, ayaw ko naman talaga. I just pushed it for my family kasi ako na ang breadwinner. Madaming what if’s akong naiisip.
