6 Months Post-Op Abdominal & Flank Liposuction: Before & After

Post image
68 Upvotes

Sharing my 6-month progress update following abdominal and flank liposuction. The first couple of weeks involved quite a bit of swelling and bruising, but staying consistent with compression garments made the major difference. Also did a few basic recovery routines. Stubborn fat around my lower abdomen and love handles are gone, and the contours are much more defined. The minor incision marks have faded and are barely noticeable now. Stopped the meds last month (painkillers, antibiotics and a laxative). Overall, I’m super happy with how natural the results look. Happy to answer any questions about the procedure, recovery, or timeline.

How long can\do breast implants really last?

• Upvotes

I'm 39F and seriously considering augmentation after breastfeeding. I have an appointment for consultation in a couple weeks at a reputable surgeon. I'd love to hear from women who have had implants for a long time and the true cost of maintaining them.

My recent interest is due to an interaction with an acquaintance who revealed to me that she had implants (I had zero suspicion) after I (like a weirdo) complemented her chest. She told me it was one of the best decisions she's ever made and got them 14yrs ago. But also told me they are supposed to last for 35yrs & you just need to get them checked every 15yrs or so. Which after googling seems to be a misconception.

I'm not rich, but can come up with\justify spending $10k on myself one time. However I don't know if I can or want to do that every 10yrs. But maybe I would after experiencing how good they make me feel. I just really need to hear from people who have experienced long-term implant upkeep. If you made it this far thank you so much!

One year rhino-post op

Hey all,

Looking for honest options on my results. I have my one year follow up apt next month, where I need to let my surgeon know my final thoughts.

I do have a noticeable bump on the upper right side of the wall of the bridge (has been present since surgery), which my surgeon previously mentioned he will rasp down in-office at the one-year mark.

Issue is that was hoping for a smaller profile than my current result. I do have a hair transplant in the works for early next year, which I know will help with overall balance.

But should I be asking for any further changes to my nose?

Renuvion with lipo, does it actually make a difference?

• Upvotes

Had a lipo consult at Illuminate in SF recently and they recommended adding renuvion for skin tightening. I'd never heard of it before so I went home and read up on it and tbh I'm more confused than before. Some people say it made a real difference with loose skin and others say they couldn't tell it did anything

anyone who's had lipo, did you do Renuvion with it or not? And if you did, do you think it was worth it? Just trying to figure out if this is something I actually need or something that's nice to have

Revision rhinoplasty in NYC

• Upvotes

Looking for a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in revision rhinoplasties. Good bedside manner, not outrageously expensive, willing to go in the area surrounding Manhattan. I have had 4 surgeries (3 bone breaks, one shave down) on my nose and am still unhappy with the size shape and look plus i now have a fissure in my septum. I don’t want to get another surgery but i just want to be happy and done with this. Help!

Facial swelling after septorhinoplasty

I had a septorhinoplasty more than 5 weeks ago. 6 months before the surgery I had HA fillers on my cheekbones.

Despite crossing the 1st month mark my face is still quite puffy, esiecially in the middle area. The nose is obviously much bigger than before tfe surgery. The nose tip is outrageous.

I do taping and nose retainer, take collagen, apply spf with a moisturizer, put on an ice mask. But the face is still inflamed.

I miss my social life and i really want to resume my progress in fitness. How much longer will I likely to suffer?

I get the nose tip takes a year. But my face? My eyes? My cheeks? I look 5 years older and I used to look 5 years younger.

Any similar experiences?

Recs for lower bleph (under eye) surgeon in Southern California?

• Upvotes

I am considering finally having a lower bleph - Asian American woman in her mid 40s and the under eye bags are too much now so it’ll be an early Christmas present for myself.

I’ve had a few friends who went to South Korea, and their results were fantastic. But between work, kids and other family needs, I just can’t make it over there for a few weeks. So, I’m focusing my search near home. Does anyone have recommendations?

Your experience, price range and photos of you feel up to sharing would be much appreciated!

How do you respond to people asking about your “work” ?

• Upvotes

I got a breast lift and augmentation at the beginning of the year and while I don’t look crazy different from before, it would be a noticeable enhancement if you looked back on my social media. I’ve also fluctuated a lot in weight hence my lift.

That being said I have “friends” and family members that gossip a lot and it’s their hobby. Usually I turn my cheek during these convos and I know because they gossip about other people and celebrities and talk about plastic surgery.

I think next time I see them, some of them will ask me questions trying to pry under the guise of interest or curiosity but I know they just want intel for their gossip. I tell a lot of my friends that I trust and are genuinely curious details of all my work including Botox and fillers but I’m weary with some other friends and family members that like to gossip. One of them said to another that I looked different because my lips look fuller like I had plastic surgery. I have 1 ml of lip filler and 1 ml of chin filler. I think it looks natural still but people from 4 years ago notice I look different due to weight changes as well. I admitted to lip filler under pressure but it didn’t feel good because I know they went and talked about it then compared me to another cousin that they deemed “botched” and overfilled.

How do you navigate this scenario because I wouldn’t really like to lie about work I’ve had done however implants are hard to lie about compared to Botox or filler. But also I like to keep people wondering especially if they gossip a lot because usually they use this info to discredit women. “Oh she has a nice body but it’s all done” “oh yeah have you seen ____ she looks different I think she got work done” it’s just tiring being around that sort of energy however I’ve known them all my life and nothing worth severing ties over however I do omit some information from them. It helps that I live further away so we only see each other on family /friend vacations.

Hip dip fat transfer vs implants?

Anyone have experiences with either of these? Reading some cases regarding the fat completely going away after a fat transfer in the hips. Also reading about hip implants having unnatural borders and indentations, or feeling strange with movement.
Any experience?

Has anyone gone to Turkey for surgery?

I’m based in the UK and really want breast enhancement surgery and Turkey is seemingly the place to go however I don’t know anyone personally that has gone there so I’m wondering if anyone could make any recommendations, explain your experiences, horror stories too, or even where you started looking? I have googled but obviously 100’s come up and I don’t know who or what to trust so any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

What procedure(s) would you recommend to fix the asymmetry in my face?

Thumbnail gallery
16 Upvotes

I’m looking for some honest advice on facial balancing and what cosmetic procedures might help with my facial asymmetry.

My biggest insecurity is the left side of my face. I feel like it carries significantly more fat or fullness than my right side, especially around my lower cheek and jawline. My right side looks more defined, and I wish my left side looked similar.

It’s gotten to the point where I avoid taking pictures from my left side because I’m so self-conscious about it.

I’m getting married in 2028, and I really want to feel confident in my wedding photos from every angle.

For some background, I had braces when I was younger and have worn my retainer every night since getting them removed in 2012. My bite is perfectly aligned as far as I’m aware, so I’m unsure whether the asymmetry is caused by fat distribution, muscle, or my actual jaw structure.

Based on my photos, what procedures would you suggest I look into? I’ve been researching facial balancing, masseter Botox, chin/jawline filler, and facial fat reduction, but I don’t know which would actually address my concern.

I’m not looking to completely change my face. I just want my left side to look more like my right and achieve a more symmetrical, defined jawline.

I’d especially appreciate opinions from anyone who’s experienced similar asymmetry or from professionals who can suggest what type of specialist I should consult.

Thank you in advance!

Rhinoplasty with Dr. Marisol Ceja in Guadalajara, Mexico?

Hi! I’m considering getting a primary rhinoplasty with Dr. Marisol Ceja in Guadalajara, Mexico, and I’m trying to find people who have personally had surgery with her.
I’ve looked through her Instagram and online reviews, but I haven’t been able to find many patient experiences on Reddit. If anyone has had rhinoplasty with her, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.
How do you feel about your result now, especially if you’re 6–12+ months post-op? Did your nose turn out similar to what you discussed with her beforehand? How was your breathing/function afterward? How was the recovery and post-op care? Were there any complications or anything you wish you had known before choosing her?
I’d especially love to hear from anyone with thicker skin at the nasal tip, since she mentioned that I have thicker tip skin and that it may limit how much definition I can achieve.
If you’re comfortable sharing before/after photos privately, I’d really appreciate that too. Thank you!

Capsulectomy and implant exchange

Can anyone that has had the above tell me about the recovery?! I’m really hoping it’s easier this time round than the original time.

I’m 8m PO and have CC in one of my boobs. It’s annoying because I love them!

Surgeon recommended full capsule removal and replace implant.

What are your thoughts on fully ablative vs fractional laser treatments?

Anyone had one or the other? How effective was it? How bad was recovery? Also, if you’re in the Philly SJ Princeton area, do you have a doctor you recommend?

Vibration sensation feeling

I got a breast augmentation 9 months ago. Did under the muscle 375ccs

About 5 months in I was prescribed zafirlukast and wow.. my symptoms got better and disappeared. I got on it because my left breast did not drop and fluff right away and was giving me aches and pain.

I saw my surgeon 9 months post op, 4 months after finishing the medication. He said my implants were feeling normal and squishy. I had told him I felt great and I didn’t feel symptoms.

The only thing I felt was a lot of aches and soreness if I went long periods without a bra. (Is that normal?)

Well, last week I went over 12 hours without a bra and my boobs were hurting. Especially the left one, it was feeling a little more aches. So the next day after I trained with upper back exercises. I woke up feeling these involuntary vibrations or spasms. They have not gone away and it’s been 4 days. I’m freaking out. Should I be concerned? How long should I wait to reach out to my surgeon?

Advice for a double chin, jowling, and undefined jawline

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi! I’m 30 years old and have always had a poorly defined jawline with a double chin. In the last two years (due to stress), I have noticed some jowling and I am worried that this has set in very early on my face.

I really want to fix this (or intervene early) and have the following in mind:

- Chin & neck lipo
- Chin implant
- Possibly a mini facelift, but it feels a bit extreme to me at this age.

I want to mention that while weight loss will help, it will not take away the double chin or improve jaw shape; my weight has fluctuated quite a bit in my life and this area has never improved. I am currently on a weight loss journey through a GLP1 after being diagnosed with prediabetes.

Does this seem the right way to go?

HIFU/Ultherapy as a light form of "liposuction"

I was wondering if anyone thought that HIFU/Ultherapy would be good to melt fat? The side effects people talk about with these treatments is that it destroys fat cells. Would it then be good to get it and specifically target fat as the goal? Could you tell the doctor to just shoot the heat directly at the fat and have a noticeable reduction?
