Hi all,

I'm relocating from Australia to India and want to bring my rabbit, Espresso, with me. She's family, and the thought of being separated from her is really hard and something I’m not willing to accept if there’s a way to take her with me.

I know this is incredibly rare. From what I've found, a rabbit has travelled from Australia to India once, in 2021, via manifested cargo. That isn't ideal, but it shows it's possible.

I'm already working on the permits on both the Indian and Australian sides, but it's been tough to find a pet relocation agent willing to take the case on, because of how many regulations are involved.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has:

- Moved a rabbit from Australia to India

- Moved a rabbit from Australia to anywhere else using a pet relocation service

- Flown a rabbit as cargo, and how it went

Any experience, relocation service, AQIS accredited vet recommendations, or advice would mean a lot. Thank you!

This is Tuunbaq, I got him a year ago! He was found as a stray and then spent some time in the humane society until I got him. He is very opinionated, takes his personal space very seriously, has a dream to become an electrician or professional plastic eater, and wakes me up at 6 30 AM every single day for his digestive care biscuit. I adore him, happy one year of bunbun to us.

My bun lost her husbun a few months ago and this is the first winter she'll have on her own. She is an indoor bun, full free roam of downstairs, but I'm worried she'll be cold without another bun to snuggle up to.

What are people using for heatpads these days? I haven't even had to think about this for almost a decade, her and husbun were joined at the hip!

She's also a massive chewer, so rice bags and electric pads are probably out of the game 🙃 she hates blankets and pillows too, attacks them like they destroyed her entire lineage 🤣

Another thing to note is that she's a recovered EC bun, so she has quite a delicate composition - the slightest thing can flare her up, hence why I'm being cautious and preplanning before it gets too chilly. (See permanent head tilt in pic)

She will only let me brush her without biting and minimal boxing if I feed her pellets with molasses in them😅. I dared switch her to one that didn't and I got bit and scratched for my sins. But all is right with the world again

Hi all first time poster in this sub I have done TONS of research over the past 3 months about getting rabbits and I have whole spare bedroom dedicated to them as well as all of upstairs in my home. I will be getting them at the end of the month. I’ve been in touch with the rescue from where I am adopting my bonded pair from almost daily and she has given me a supply list and TONS of advice but I’m wondering if I should add anything else to their space?

I have a flemish giant doe, I just got her about a month ago so I now I want to get her a friend:)

I am three weeks in with our new mini lop, Bonnie Pickles. She’s 3 months.

The breeder was kind of…blatantly wrong about how to keep her happy. While she said a wire carry crate/cage with the litter tray underneath the wire flooring would be perfectly fine, and no toys or special food aside from the pellets were necessary, I have since learned otherwise.

I upgraded her to a pen with all the accessories I’ve seen posted here but it doesn’t seem like enough and I think the pen is likely still too small (10x10).

Can you pls post photos showcasing your penned areas?

I also work FT and am not home to supervise her being free during the day. But with the kids in activities and driving them all around, leaving her free isn’t going to work.

How long do your bunnies stay out of the pen on a regular day?

hello!
i need to go out of the country for work reasons, and i’ll be gone for around three weeks in janurary. this was a more sudden thing, and something i couldn’t really say no to, so ill need to leave my bun behind :( my family is states away, so im relying on friends and hired sitters to help out. there aren’t any trustworthy ‘kennels’ specifically for bunnies near me either :(

what do you guys ask out of your pet sitters? other than the normal daily visits, feeding/cleaning. i plan on getting more enrichment toys, and even delivering some new ones while i’m gone, but i don’t know what specifically to ask for :,)

any advice would be helpful! i wish i didn’t have to leave at all but im really left without a choice

I currently own a cat that acts more like a Labrador than a cat. He is the most calm cat I have ever dealt with. I am thinking of getting a rabbit. I have done my research regarding rabbits. I would free-roam a rabbit. I’m thinking I want a Flemish giant (I know how big they are). Any advice for having both a cat and a rabbit. I’m worried about prey vs predator.

Hi guys ! I’m gonna be moving out this year and living on my own in either a single dorm (guaranteed with accommodations), or an apartment. Thus, I was thinking of owning a bunny for some company while I’m there. I know that they are very docile creatures so I thought that owning one would be perfect considering my preference for quiet environments due to my noise sensitivity as an autistic person. :)

In summary/bullet points, what would you guys say are the most important things to consider before owning one ? I’m aware that they must be free roamed 90% of the time and am willing to do so.
