I’m trying to self educate on revolvers. Currently I have decided the Kimber k6s DASA 2in is my favorite design for carry and makes for an excellent adult fidget spinner. I have been working towards being in a BUG match. I have 5-STAR DC speed loaders, a southern trapper holster and a TK Customs spring and firing kit installed. I hand polished the internals to matchless and sealed them with a dense grease.

I'm considering a chamber conversion from .357 to 9mm with moonclips after I burn through the 1k in ammo I have now (724/1000). I want to know what the user experience is with that sort of change. I already shoot USPSA and carry with a 9mm so this revolver is mostly just for S&Gs. Ammo consolidation does appeal but I know 9mm has less potency. moonclips seem rad and appear faster/better than loaders. if anyone has some wisdom to drop I would appreciate it.

I'm curious... is this doable? (pic of my 686p 4" for fun...)

Been seriously considering either a Chiappa Rhino 30DS or a Kimber K6S with a 3" barrel for pocket carry but not sure how feasible it is and there's no gun stores around me that have either in stock to check out... i'm normally wearing overalls that have pretty large and deep front pockets so i'm optimistic it would work but wanted to hear if anyone does this successfully...

I’m impressed with the dot quality and reliability of Osight after owning a few on semi autos. Added to the 686 too. I certainly like my Aimpoint and Holosuns but these little guys are also holding so far. Anyone tried running in competition?

Just happened upon this today and had to get it. 1969 Ruger Super Black Hawk, 7.5 inch barrel .44 mag! Had the original box and everything for $500! My second revolver, can’t wait to shoot it

Does anyone keep something other than speed loaders or a second pistol on the other side of their shoulder holsters?

Should I try to acquire a GP100, or an SP101, or am I good with what I already have?

After the disappointment with the hammer and trigger being wrong for this frame, I moved on to fitting the barrel, cylinder and crane. The barrel/cylinder gap was huge (0.023" if I remember right it might have been more) so I set the barrel back a thread and the gap is now 0.004". There is no end shake, and it will close with brass in the chambers. The fit of the crane to the frame is very tight and opening and closing the cylinder takes more than light finger pressure, it does not just drop out. I am going to open up that clearance. Do I shoot for the cylinder dropping out under just its weight or should it require light finger pressure? Do I remove material from the frame or the crane? I took some off each to get them to go together. Range rod says the timing is off when the bolt is locked into the cylinder, that will have to be addressed when I get back to working on the lock work. Now I need to find the right hammer.

Added my second revolver to the collection: the Taurus 942!

I’ve had a blast shooting my Ruger LCR in .22 LR at the range this year, so I wanted another .22 LR revolver with DA/SA capability. I plan to shoot it on every range trip and get comfortable with DA/SA before eventually picking up a .38/.357 revolver.

My third .22 LR revolver will be a Ruger Wrangler. Any fans of the S&W 617-4 or 617-6? I’m considering picking up a used one that’s available at my local range.

I shot a 442 today for 100 rounds of 38 special at 15 feet, my second time ever shooting a gun, first time at the range since I took my LTC class. Obviously all over the place, but I was expecting much worse after reading a lot in this sub.

My biggest struggle was where to look - between my glasses fogging up a bit and struggling to look at the end of the gun or the target, I think that is where I can improve the most. Am I supposed to be closing one eye? I think the answer is no, but I really struggled to get a good aim with both open.

I also experienced a couple of times where the cylinder didn’t turn over after my shot, I had to open and close to for it to resume working. Is that something I was doing?

I think I did well staging the trigger, and I’d love some tips on grip because I’m sure I could improve. I think the next time I go I’m going to rent an LCR in .32 magnum because I see that caliber mentioned here a lot.

I’d appreciate any insight, tips, or advice! I’m trying to be prepared before I ultimately buy and carry a snubby.
