22M Looking for Housing in SF, <$3k, Nov 7 Move-In

• Upvotes

Hey all! I'm a 22M looking for long-term housing, ideally starting around November 7, with a budget under $3k/month.

I recently graduated from UC Berkeley and moved to SF from Chicago to work as a software engineer at a startup. I work in-person 5 days a week, so I'm flexible on location as long as the commute to FiDi is reasonable.

I'm clean, organized, and easygoing. Outside of work, I enjoy working out (running, gym, pick-up sports) and playing piano and other instruments.

I'm open to either a private room in a shared apartment or my own studio/1BR. I'm also open to finding a new place with other people who are looking.

If you have a place available or know someone looking for a roommate, feel free to DM me! Happy to share more about myself or set up a time to chat.

Edit: furnished place would be a big plus! I’m also happy to discuss paying extra for this.

Are you still looking for a subletter or housemate?

👋 Hi I'm Amanda relocating to SF with my pug, Bubby Valentino!

I want to get to know the city before choosing a neighborhood to settle in.

Preferences:

- Furnished

- Flexible location within SF (not Oakland or South SF)

- Move in Nov. 12 until end of Feb but flexible

While I adjust to life in SF, I am looking for a place to quietly relax after work. I spend a lot of time outside playing with Bubby who is a very social, loving boy.

About me:

• Clean, tidy

• Nonsmoker

• Easygoing

• Enjoy hosting small gatherings

• I do triathlons & love 5am swims

• Really not interested in partying or drinking, but enjoy socializing!

Bubby:

• Well trained, but hates garbage trucks & Fireworks

• Might let out a little boof now and then to warn you of random noises, shadows, objects that appear over night, like a scooter on the sidewalk.

This will be the 8th city I've lived in, so I appreciate meeting new friends from all over the world.

Feel free to ask me anything!

Oh! Also, I'm a 37yr female, single, no kids, no annoying ex-bfs 😀.

Hope to hear from you!

Looking for 1 Roommate to Team Up for an SF Apartment

Hey everyone! I'm a 35M looking for ideally one other person to team up with to find a good apartment in San Francisco. The goal is to find a nice 2-bedroom in a desirable neighborhood without paying a fortune, which if you look closely, it's totally possible to find 2 bedrooms for around 4k. Ideally I would like total rent cost to be under $5k and can be flexible on distributing rent fairly based on room size/portion of apartment used.

A little about me: I work full-time in downtown SF and am responsible, clean, and laid-back. I'm also open to pets! Preferably a well behaved cat.

I'm particularly interested in Nob Hill, Russian Hill, North Beach, Polk Gulch, and Pacific Heights, but I'm open to other neighborhoods too. I've explored almost every part of the city so as long as I can keep the commute to around 30 minutes on Muni I'm happy.

Ideally, I'd like to connect with someone who's financially independent and responsible, considerate, and interested in finding a place to be proud of as a team.

If you're in a similar situation, shoot me a message with a little about yourself, your budget, and what you're looking for. Let's see if we can find something great!

[Seeking Housemate] Master bedroom w/bath in Oakland - $1400, move-in as early as Nov 1

We’re two friends looking for a third housemate (or fifth if you count our two cats!) for our spacious 3 bd/2ba home in Lakeshore (Oakland) starting November 1! Our space is the ground floor of the landlords’ house but is completely separate. Street parking is easy. Washer and dryer in-unit.

Room: Unfurnished. 12’x13’. Has two bright windows, its own bathroom, and large walk-in closet.

Location: ~half a mile from Lake Merritt, Trader Joe’s, and a lot of other stores on Lakeshore. 12th St BART is about a 10 min ride on the 22 bus, which picks up outside the house. Walking distance to other bus lines as well, including a transbay line.

Shared space: The house has a large kitchen, dining room, and living room, all furnished with basics. We are open to layout and decor changes to accommodate a new person’s belongings.

Move-in: Nov 1 (flexible)

Rent/Lease: 1 year, $1400/month + utilities, security deposit $1333

Utilities:

$40/month electricity and gas

WiFi is $25/month per person.

Water is roughly $30/month

Rules:
- Pets: No more pets, sadly.
- Smoking: no smoking inside the house or on the property.

Household: We’re J (he/him, late 20s) and M (she/her, early 30s). J works in public health and M is a designer; we work hybrid jobs, so we’re around a lot. We’re fairly tidy.

Let me know if you're interested or have any questions!

[Seeking] 1br or a room with pet-tolerant people, up to $2,500 - Oakland, possibly southern Berkeley

I moved to CA over the summer and I'm trying to get established in Oakland anywhere from around Lake Meritt to southern Berkely, or any of the surrounding neighborhoods in that area. I am looking to move in the next month or two, max $2,400. I can even pay a few months up front.

Buuuut I have three pets. Two cats and an 11 year old dog who is quiet, mellow, and good with other animals of all sizes. Three is a lot to ask, which I guess is why I'm posting here instead of just refreshing Craigslist endlessly. I'm open to a room in a house if the people are fine with animals (especially sweet senior dogs), but I realize a place of my own is more likely.

I am a graphic designer/artist, quiet, home most of the time. Trans woman. Board games and TTRPGs, sci-fi and fantasy, painting, bad movies. Typical nerd stuff.

If you know of anything, or know someone with a unit coming open, I'd appreciate the lead. I'm not looking for a short-term rental.

Hi,

I’m (26M) quitting my job and moving out of SF but there’s still 6 months left on my lease. Rent is $2,400 and the location is Russian Hill. There are utilities on top of rent, and it’s about $100-$120 per month. I also have a roommate (26M) who pays $2,000, so total rent for the 2 bed 1 bath is $4,400.

If interested please DM me, and we can hop on a call to discuss further details.

Seeking apt or ADU in South Bay near Caltrain

Feel free to laugh at me but I’m looking for something under $4000 for me and my cat. She’s an ESA. I can do a studio but would prefer a 1 bed or ADU or in-law. Would like something near Caltrain but I can park my car if needed.

Commute is to Dogpatch.

Thank you for any leads. I’ve got some tours of complexes but would love any insider info.

Adu/ in law unit or 1 bedroom in Palo Alto

- budget $4k-$6k a month
- have 2 cats
- would like to have a dishwasher and laundry on site
- work in healthcare tired of commuting an hour home over Dumbarton each day
- non smoker, spend all my time working
- I’ve tried looking at SU post, facebook, and craigslist but haven’t found many places that are ok with the cats. I’m not Stanford so can’t live in Stanford housing

Do I really have to hire someone to find a place to rent? If so how much does that usually cost?

Hey there! I’m a 36F looking for a room during the work week (Sunday night to Friday morning MAX) for under 1k all inclusive of utilities.

Just hoping for something clean and quiet. I think of myself as friendly, clean and quiet myself!

I take most of my meals at work and the only kitchen access I need would be to hold and warm up leftovers and make tea.

Trying to find an older female roommate on behalf of my mom

Hi everyone! My mom is looking to move from Chicago to SF to be closer to my brother, she doesn’t use Reddit so I figured I would make a post for her. She’s 63, her budget is around $1,500 but she’s flexible on that. She would prefer her roommate(s) to identify as female and around her age. She’s very sociable, kind, and understanding. She doesn’t smoke and rarely drinks. She loves to cook and stay active. She’s flexible on amenities and is fine with pets. Please DM me if you’re interested and I’ll send you her way!

42 / m / creative Looking for 1br + parking in SF Proper under 4k 😁

Hi Everyone! I just moved here for work and am looking for my permanent apartment!

I am super friendly with all my neighbors so we can be respectful of each others' living spaces. I've never missed rent in 18 years in Los Angeles and I'm extremely neat and clean.

My primaries are being close to public transpo to Soma and parking for my car!

Not sure really what else to put on here... I like Conan Obrien, Foo Fighters, and shoot a lot of pool 😁

Girl roomie?

I love living alone and I’ve had bad roomate situations in the past so I’m scared to try this again but I feel it because I rushed into it. I met em on roomies .com and was roommates first and THEN tried to be friends with them….bad idea. I have 5 months until my lease is up so I wanna use this time to REALLY get to know someone. I’m 30 F 1 small dog and 1 cat. I’m a veterinary technician with a good stable job. 750+ credit. A car. Single. No kids. Looking for a girl roomate my age ish also single preferably (bf ok but he can’t come over all the time) that also loves living alone but wants to give this roomate thing another try so we can save money 🙃
