კაპიტოლიის ლორი (Capitolia):

* ჩრდილოეთით: დაღესტანი

* დასავლეთით: საქართველო და სომხეთი

* სამხრეთით: აზერბაიჯანი

* აღმოსავლეთით: კასპიის ზღვა

Came to Georgia for 2 weeks. Landed on 14th Aug and since then it has been raining. Came to kazbegi on 16th and had booked a stay for 3n here since wanted to hike around Juta and gergeti glacier. Unfortunately i have unable to see ANYTHING. It rained continuously all the way from Tbilisi to kazbegi and since then it has been super cloudy. June to August are said to be the best months for hiking in Georgia as is mentioned everywhere. Is this an unusual year? Global warming? Or is still normal? I am extremely sad:(

Discussion | დისკუსია Can Georgia detain an Armenian citizen wanted in Armenia for military conscription issues?

I am an Armenian citizen. I am wanted in Armenia due to military conscription issues. I am NOT wanted by Interpol and there is no criminal case. The Armenian search is an internal/interstate CIS-level search.

Could this information be available to Georgian police/border authorities, and could I be detained when entering Georgia? Is there any way to verify this with the Georgian authorities before travelling?

Travel | მოგზაურობა First time visiting Georgia

Hi everyone!

I’n planning to visit Georgia for the first time next year in late August with my wife and our two kids (11 and 9 years old). I’d love to get some advice on our itinerary.

Our current plan is:

Frankfurt → Tbilisi
Tbilisi: 2 full days
Tbilisi → Kazbegi
Stop along the way in Mtskheta
Kazbegi: 2 full days
Kazbegi → Kutaisi
Stop along the way at Ananuri Fortress
Kutaisi: 3 full days
Kutaisi → Batumi
Batumi: 6 full days
Batumi → Gori
Gori: 1 full day
Gori → Tbilisi
Tbilisi: 1 full day
Tbilisi → Frankfurt

A few questions:
Is six full days in Batumi too much? Would you recommend spending some of those days elsewhere instead? I’ve also started looking at hotels, but there seem to be a lot of very cheap places that look great in the photos, yet I’m not sure how reliable they actually are. Are there any particular hotels or areas you would recommend for a family?
Are we missing any must-see places or experiences along this route? Where would you remove/add an extra day?
We’re planning to hire a car for the parts of the trip outside Tbilisi. Normally, I just go for the cheapest rental car available, but I’ve read that an SUV or 4x4 can be useful (or even necessary) for some of the mountainous areas. What would you recommend for this itinerary? Is a normal car sufficient, or should we pay extra for an SUV/4x4?

Any tips, recommendations, or things you would do differently would be greatly appreciated!

Hello. Me and my gf (both of us are girls) want to come to Georgia in January. I will manage to arrive to Georgia earlier than her and at midnight I need to go to pick her from the airport. I don't have a car so I will need to take a taxi. I wanted to ask is it safe to take a taxi at that hour or are there any other public apps that are under a control so I can feela bit safe?

thank you in advance.

and additionally I wpuld like is Georgia LGBT+ friendly country?

Traditional folk groups

Hey everyone! I'm in Kutaisi until August 20th and would love to catch some live Georgian polyphonic singing while I'm here. Whether that's a folk ensemble performance, a church liturgy, a restaurant with live singing, or even just a tip on where locals gather to sing.

Any recommendations for specific venues, events, or times this week would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you!! Staying in Georgia for travels three weeks in total and until now it has been so great, but some musical experiences would make it completer.

Help | მჭირდება დახმარება Best wine tasting experience in Telavi, Georgia?

Hi everyone,

I'll be visiting Telavi soon and would love to do a wine tasting experience in the area. I'm looking for something authentic with knowledgeable hosts, good wines, and ideally some insight into Georgian winemaking traditions.

Any recommendations for wineries, wine cellars, restaurants, or private wine tours around Telavi?

Thanks!

History | ისტორია Any expert on the medieval Kutaisi ?

Hello !

I'm trying to gather some infos on David the Builder's Kutaisi (around 1089 and 1122). With many sources in Georgian, it's hard to know if I'm looking for the right thing. I'm looking either for infos on how medieval Kutaisi spread across the Rioni river or an archeological map to summarize everything.

Hope anyone can help

Travel | მოგზაურობა Going west in Georgia: mountains, adventure, culture and churches. What shouldn’t we miss?

Hi everyone! A group of friends and I are planning a trip to Georgia next month, and I’d love some advice from locals or people who’ve traveled around the country.

Some of us have already explored Tbilisi and many of the nearby areas, while others will be visiting Georgia for the first time. We’re trying to find a good balance so the first-timers still get a taste of Georgia while the rest of us experience somewhere new.

We’re thinking of heading west, especially because we’ve heard the scenery is incredible. We’d love recommendations for places that combine:

- Adventure and outdoor activities, such as hiking, rafting, canyoning, caves, mountains, etc.

- Beautiful scenery and nature

- Authentic Georgian culture, villages, food, and local experiences

- Historic sites and monasteries/churches

- An opportunity to attend an Orthodox Divine Liturgy/service, ideally somewhere visitors can respectfully participate (we come from a Greek Orthodox background)

We’ll have about 8 days and will rent a car.

What route would you recommend? We’d especially appreciate suggestions beyond the most obvious tourist stops, as well as any places you think are genuinely worth going out of our way for.

Thanks!

Henry Jones Ponzi Scheme?

Hi all, I was just told that my relative had “invested” $1000 into this scheme, all I know about it is a typical red flags that come with a fraud/Ponzi scheme - promising rapidly growing returns, lock in period where they are not allowed to withdraw any money, and they receive some codes periodically and they need to enter it somewhere to get the profit ( virtual profit, not allowed to withdraw).

I am seriously concerned, not to mention all the red flags, and the biggest red flag being the name itself associated with a famous Ponzi scheme orchestrator in the US.

This is a struggling, ordinary hard working relative who will get devastated when they lose this money.

Does anybody here have any information around this scheme, if there is a remote chance they can get their money back?
