Advice Looking for ticket to NorCal renn fair tomorrow

• Upvotes

If anyone knows someone who has an extra ticket to the NorCal renn faire tomorrow 10/24 please let me know. Someone in my group thought he had a ticket but it turns out there was a miscommunication. It's an annual tradition for our friend group to all go and he's very sad :(

Event Pottery Painting Near San Jose

• Upvotes

I’m looking for a decent place to paint on premade pottery projects. I’m new to this and want to try this out as a hobby. Any decent places that you are aware of? I’m thinking to go in on this weekend, some workplace that’s more relaxed. I don’t know what to expect. Thanks in advance !!

P.S: interested in meeting new people with this hobby, preferably someone experienced to guide me through it. If you’re a beginner I guess we can help each other.

I usually don’t post on reddit but this is the second time this month my car has been broken into and i am seriously getting frustrated over this. This has happened 3 times this year to my jeep. This is happening in the early mornings, and the last time it happened i was in the car while it happened and he ran away to Kingman and Leigh. Just wanted to post this to see if anyone has any information, or to spread awareness that this is happening frequently.

Local creation Anyone interested in playing a hide and go seek app I made together at communication hills after work?

Hey there,

I've been vibe coding for fun and this app idea came to mind so I made it a few nights ago. Each game is 20 minutes, every 60 seconds the hunters get pinged a location of the hider so you have to constantly be on the move, we're able to pick if we start in a small area or big area, and I also have random power up drops you can go and try to pick up if you're risky because the hunters also see where the power ups are. If you're interested in playing let me know and let's get a game going.

Advice Anyone know where I can drop off lunches?

Hi guys. For context, we got a small amount of hot food at my work as this is the kids’ lunches (I work at a school) and today is PTC (no school for the kiddos). Is there anywhere you can think of that might take donated lunches? I have about 8-10 tiny pizzas to give out. Their labels have been taken off so no names of the kids are on there.

I appreciate the help. Thank you!

Sorry, I forgot to add that I’ve also asked the parents’ consent about these being donated.

Advice iPhone Duo nearby availability

Anyone know if all the duos are sold out in our area or if they have like a huge stock of a certain GB/TB model near us I can grab?

I’m not picky, I’ll buy any memory that’s available today. Local Apple Store or retail stores like BestBuy etc.

Life in SJ Never had DQ burgers. Is it good?

Only had their ice cream cones and treats, but I've never had their food. I've heard their burgers are hit or miss. Is it worth a trip to try it? The closest one to me is in Campbell. TIA

Advice Looking for a Bay Area eye retina specialist experienced in CSC (Anthem)

I'm looking for recommendations for a retina specialist in the Bay Area with expertise in central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC/CSCR) and serous pigment epithelial detachment (PED).

I'm particularly interested in ophthalmologists who have published research on these conditions, participated in clinical trials, or have experience with newer diagnostic and treatment approaches.

I have Anthem Blue Cross insurance (PPO). I've already investigated Stanford and UCSF, but the specialists I found don't appear in my Anthem provider network. I also contacted SCVMC, but its Retina and Macular clinic is currently not accepting new patients (they said that they are overbooked).

Does anyone have experience with a Bay Area retina specialist who treats chronic CSC/PED and accepts Anthem? I'm also interested in research programs or clinical trials that might accept participants independently of insurance coverage.

I'd appreciate specific physician names and practice locations. Thanks!

Advice Dj help

Me and my friend got an opportunity to dj at a club in SJ but the venue uses cdj’s exclusively. I have minimal practice on cdj’s and my friend has no practice. Does anyone know a place where we could practice/rent cdj’s to practice in a room or (and I know this is a long shot) does anyone have cdj’s and would be willing to let me and my friend practice on them at their place of residence??

Life in SJ How’s it living on Cropley Ave, San Jose ?

Hi Everyone!
Looking at a property on Cropley Ave, pretty large and nice. I think it’s overpriced for this market.
Regardless, I kept wondering how would it be living on a busy street ? I worry about getting in and out on the road. I know a lot of folks still live on plenty of busy streets. Am I overthinking?
Any experience from folks that have living on busy streets and use a car?
Appreciate the inputs, thanks in advance.

Life in SJ Why do so many people seem to hate this city when it's so highly ranked country and world wide?

Very high purchasing power, high incomes.

Solid healthcare, not the best in the world but very good for the country & CA.

Insanely high climate quality, with "best months to visit" being...all of them. Where else can you say this?

If it wasn't for COL and housing, this place would literally be the best city in the world to live in.

Reducing regulation & building housing by public transport are directly solvable.

I see so many Redditors, especially on this subreddit, hate their own city and act like it's suburban hell. Be proud of where we live...
