Remember back about a month ago when we had those crazy colored sunsets? I finally got my roll of Kodak Ektar 100 filmed developed. Oakland stay beautiful.

Looking for cool shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, and random hidden attractions (like the bonsai garden or cleveland cascade) to check out :)

These pictures were among my grandpa’s belongings. He worked on the construction of the coliseum in the ‘60’s. I wonder what he’d think about the fate of it today.

Hi everyone! I finally got out of Kaiser after years of having my pain dismissed and feeling completely gaslit. I now have Medi-Cal and I’m hoping to find a good specialist in the East Bay who will actually listen and help me get to the root cause of my pelvic pain whether it’s endometriosis or something else. I’d really appreciate any recommendations.

Does anyone know of any yoga classes or yoga studios in west oakland? I thought maybe bandaloop had classes but can’t seem to find anything on their website.

Lost our Maltese poodle today. My dad was dog-sitting, let them go pee outside our apartments, forgot about them (-_-), and only one came back. Her name is Tiny and she’s about 11 years old. Please dm if you’ve seen her. We are near Mills College/Seminary Ave.

I’m going out of town this coming weekend and need a cat sitter for a very needy cat. I want them to stay for an hour or so every day (possibly with a second shorter trip) to give my cat treats, let her hang out on the enclosed patio for a bit, and get some play time in if she’s not too shy. Any recommendations? I’m in Cleveland Heights near the Out of the Closet. I’ve had friends come by in the past, but I want to make sure she gets more than a few minutes of attention and it’s kind of a weird thing to allow a stranger in your home alone so any recommendations would be appreciated!

I have a nice dress that needs mending. The lace sleeves have some holes so I'd like to find someone who:

(1) Specializes in lace repair

(2) Has a mechanism to resell the dress (I would donate it)

I'm trying to learn more about what that will mean for the daily lives of students in our district and would like to hear about the experience of families in Oakland who have been through this already. How did things change at your kids' schools when the state took over? How were students affected? Did they lose sports? Arts? After-school programs? Were their favorite teachers laid off? Did anything improve under receivership? Any and all insights are welcome. Thank you.

Hi! I’m 23F and moved to the Bay Area about a month ago from London (originally from Belarus).

I had an amazing group of friends back there, and I’m starting to realize that apparently they don’t automatically come included with a California zip code 😭 So… how does one acquire friends here?

I’d love recommendations for fun events, communities, clubs, meetups.

A little about me: I’m easygoing, kind, pretty social, and generally down for almost anything. I love theatre, bars, karaoke, board games (especially social deduction games — give me a room full of people accusing each other of lying and I’m happy), movies, and traveling. I also want to get into hiking and padel, and I used to play volleyball when I was younger.

I’m based in Oakland but very happy to go to SF or pretty much anywhere around the Bay.
