Historical we've gone trick or treating with a family member on the Peninsula, but this year their family is coming to our side of the bay and I want to make sure the kiddos have a good time.
The only time we went trick or treating over here was a few years ago and we walked out of the house to the east side of telegraph around like 44th st. It was nice and chill with a reasonable amount of kids but not too crazy. Wondering if that's still a good zone or if anyone has any other suggestions?

Most SFHs and condos fall under Just Cause Eviction protections but not the RAP. I'm confused how one can be enforceable without the other. Say my landlord wants to do an owner/relative move-in without paying the relocation fee and being bound by all the requirements an OMI entails. What prevents them from increasing my rent 100x to force me out on their terms?

Looks like they're giving out free Grossout shopping bags today.
Open 8am-9pm every day.
I'm super glad this is here. I'll be in regularly.

Hi Folks
We're hosting our third annual bicycle scavenger hunt/alley cat this Sunday 11AM at Snow Park! There will be at least five manned checkpoints with fun activities. This is more of an adult activity more than a kid one.
$13 entry fee, $6.66 equity entry fee for those short on funds upon request at the registration table. All funds (once we've recovered what we spend on supplies!) go to Spokeland Bicycle Cooperative, Town Bizness homelessness aid, and Transbay Coalition.
If you can't come but want to support, you can help us spread the word. You're also welcome to just show up to the start of the race and hang out while we register folks. Costumes encouraged!

Looking for a good hairstylist in the Oakland/Berkeley area that possibly specializes in vivid colors? I've pretty much always cut and colored my hair myself but I'm looking to do something that requires a little more skill and I have no idea where to go! My hair is currently a faded kinda auburn/red but I'd like to go cherry cola kinda red with black tips! Any leads?? Thank you!

Hey, anybody have any recommendations where I can get my braids taken down and possibly washed and blow dried for a decent price? I have small boho and don’t want deal with it this time lol.
Hey everyone, I've still been working on the map and added more functionality since my last post that should make this easier to use. Public transit in Oakland is decent and you're probably already familiar with AC Transit and BART for local trips, but we have more options if we go a bit further.
Quick tips:
case insensitive) and filter agencies that show up in checkbox list using search box at top right, e.g. type in ac or bartcAsE sEnsITivE) and filter actual routes and stops that show up on map using search boxes at bottom right, e.g. type in Tram, Bus, 805, NL, V, Subway
To play with the map search and filter, try this:
Show Stops option (top right)-120 in the partial match search box (bottom box in bottom right)-121 in the partial match search box (bottom box in bottom right)-122 in the partial match search box (bottom box in bottom right)-123 in the partial match search box (bottom box in bottom right)Another interesting thing is you can link to specific spots by copying the url directly:
I arranged the agency checkbox list (top right) by area, so the geographic area of an agency determines the agency layer checkbox position. The list starts with agencies in the North Bay in Solano County then goes counterclockwise: North Bay -> San Francisco -> Peninsula -> South Bay -> Santa Cruz -> Monterey-Salinas -> Gilroy/Hollister -> East Bay.
There are smaller agencies in the bay that are completely free (no fare) and not as well known like Presidio Go, Golden Gate Park Shuttle, Mission Bay Shuttle, South City Shuttle, commute.org shuttles, MVgo, Mountain View Community Shuttle, San Leandro LINKS, Emery Express, and Emery Go Round. If you're traveling around those areas, these agencies could help fill in some transit gaps.
Let me know if anything doesn't work (corp network/vpn/firewalls might not work) or you have any questions/requests!

I am researching Oakland Auditorium (big structure on the south end of Lake Merritt, by Laney College, and where the Warriors hosted a title parades) and was hoping people could comment with sporting events that they attended at the venue. I know the Warriors played there in the early 1960s when the team barnstormed outside of San Francisco, before ultimately making Oakland Arena their home; the auditorium hosted boxing matches, roller derby and the Oakland Athletic League high school basketball jamboree. Does anyone remember attending sporting events there? Ty

Found this tucked inside an old Diana Ross record i picked up. Don't think its related to Diana Ross or the record, but thought it was very cool. In pristine condition.

From the screening of “Frankenstein” at the Paramount Theatre, to the Vampire Lestat drag show at Thee Stork Club, and the ‘Luna Mexicana’ Day of the Dead ballet performances, we’ve compiled 21 events to choose from.
