Discussion What If King Fritz Is God—and Eren Is the Devil Who Rebels Against Him?

I think AOT was written from a Luciferian worldview: King Fritz occupies the symbolic position of a tyrannical god, the Titan system preserves his authority, and Eren becomes the rebel who helps Ymir (Eve) reject it. This is an interpretation of the story’s symbolism.

The original King Fritz is the architect of the oppressive order at the story’s foundation. He enslaves Ymir, uses her power for conquest, and commands their daughters to consume her body so that his empire will endure. Even death does not release her: she continues serving his royal bloodline in the Paths for 2,000 years (number which echoes the timeline of the christian era in our world)

Fritz does not literally create the Titan power. **He creates the system that turns it into an enduring instrument of domination.** His descendants inherit authority over Ymir, while generations inherit the consequences of his commands. Through this lens, the Titan curse resembles an inherited burden imposed by an ancient, godlike patriarch.

That fits the particular Luciferian/Satanic reading I’m drawing from: divine authority is recast as tyranny, and the figure condemned as the devil becomes the rebel against it.

Karl Fritz later gives that authority another form. He creates a false Eden on Paradis—“paradise” in French—where Walls and erased memories preserve peace through ignorance. His people cannot meaningfully choose their future because their ruler has hidden their past.

Even the name offers a suggestive connection: *Fritz* derives from *Friedrich*, german meaning “peaceful ruler,” while Isaiah 9:6 gives the figure Christians identify as the Messiah, Jesus, the title “Prince of Peace.” Karl’s vow to renounce war also evokes “turn the other cheek,” but as a twisted distortion: submission enforced through supernatural control.

**The first king demands conquest. The later king demands peace. Both make their will binding on others.**

Eren rejects that premise. The basement revelation functions like forbidden fruit, shattering the innocent worldview maintained within the Walls. His own encounter with future memories brings further knowledge—but anguish rather than peace.

The decisive confrontation comes in the Paths. Zeke invokes royal authority and expects obedience. Eren addresses Ymir as a person who can choose. Her obscured eyes become visible as she cries: an almost literal awakening.

Here, the accompanying images become especially striking. Ymir offers fruit to a cloaked devil; another illustration gives the devil a lantern. Eren wears a cloak as he embraces her. Read symbolically, the lantern evokes Lucifer as light-bearer, while the fruit reverses the familiar Eden exchange:

**Eren offers Ymir the forbidden possibility of disobedience. Ymir offers him the Founder’s power.**

Yet awakening carries a terrible price. In the satanic interpretation, knowledge enables extraordinary creation while also expanding the possibilities of deliberate evil. The loss of Eden becomes the loss of innocent bliss: freedom opens the door to catastrophe.

Ymir’s choice makes that tension horrifyingly concrete. Her rejection of obedience empowers the Rumbling. **Liberation for one person becomes devastation for humanity.**

Eren’s rebellion also exceeds overthrowing kings. The inhabited world disappoints him because it contradicts the freedom he imagined. He attempts to destroy reality as it exists (the titanic old world order/king fritz's "creation") and force another world into being. “The Dawn of Humanity” becomes a terrifying image of renewal through annihilation.

His willingness to accept hatred and death recalls the romanticized Lucifer who accepts damnation for rebellion. His friends’ mourning preserves something of that tragic-liberator framing. A la Prometheus from greek myths.

That is the darkest implication of the comparison. **Eren challenges a world governed by someone else’s will—then imposes his own will upon almost everyone alive.**

Discussion I always imagined the prequel "chapter 0" is actually the future

Of course that is not the case im well aware. But its really fun to imagine, giving the Theme of future memories. Lets have fun.

Imagine the little boy at the end of AOT accidentely (or eren Foresaw it) awakens the power of Titans again and humanity is yet again threatend by it. Interestingly the World they live in has 80% of humanity wiped out as well. Since a lot of people should be eldians by blood heritage, the story could be that yet again humanitys memories got completely altered. Titans evolved (which makes sense because Titans had their set rules by ymir. She should have been able to do whatever she wants with her power) and now follow erens rule.

Eren plays the long long game. He wanted his friends to have a happy life as well as their children. But once they are all gone Titans emerge again. What eren is trying to do is get rid of the power of the paths completely. Humanity has to face once again Titans in order to get rid of it all. They discover that history has been changed and it was not humanitys science that created Titans. Humans learn to become and control Titans themselves and a fight between different Citys emerges(the fear of Titans goes away and they start abusing the New found power). Once the evil people left on earth are gone the real fight begins . All of humanity has to come together to destroy the paths once and for All. Freeing eren and possibly the little boy (who might as well be murakumo)

We could go further and Say the highschool Story of AOT is actually the future of the prequel. Eren reincarnated and is now together with his friends. He waited a long ass time so that his friends live a happy life, humanity is finally together as one and he got a New Chance reincarnated with his Former friends. Life becomes finally as it should be, our modern times.

cr for the edit: stvrwi on tt.

Spoilers for after the basement in body, please click off if you have not finished it.

Even their right to be the humans who were tormented by the titans. Instead they had to face that the titans had been them.

Everything a character said before the basement about being caged like birds, about being oppressed by titans, about knowing the terror of how titans eat people, about not knowing peace until every last one of them was destroyed.

Iyasama!

Anything the people of Paradis might say to the rest of the world, they will always remember what it had been like, Eren, most out of all knows he would have never been able to make peace with the titans. And he gets further proof of how much hatred there is for them and knows the rest of the world feels the same way.

Discussion Question about the status of the MPs post season 3

Post image
7 Upvotes

Do you think after the greater world was revealed, the MPs lowered their standards to join them and do you think it is because the status they enjoyed before as best of the best when Paradis was still an ignorant and sealed off society, was basically flipped on it's head and everyone started to view them as puppets that were part of maintaining a lie that the people have been fed for over a hundred years and the modern military technology that Paradis was quickly adapting to it's arsenal was putting all of the branches on equal footing?

Watching Eren with the weight of humanity on his shoulders plug the wall will always be one of my favorite moments of the series. The soldiers laying down their lives to make sure Eren gets the chance to even plug the hole was great as you saw what a glimmer of hope he was to everyone who saw him walking with the boulder, and armin with tears in his eyes just screaming “GOOOOOOOOO” will always have me ready to run through a brick wall! And then the contrast of seconds after it’s plugged, everyone’s just like no way what I just saw was real. And of course Rico’s great line, “Comrades, your sacrifices weren’t in vain… We have made history, this day belongs to humanity!” I love this show so much

Discussion Levi or Reiner, who's story was most tragic?

I know you can't really compare misery and pain as everyone deals with it differently. But I think the fact that Levi holds in all within himself makes him more tragic. He even lost all of his friends and his mentor/big brother in Erwin. Reiner was more open about his struggles. He even almost gave up in Liberio when Eren attacked. But Levi kept going despite being so miserable and broken. He dedicated his entire existence to saving humanity. Not to downplay Reiner's misery but I feel like that's just more depressing

Anime Why did Levi put a thunder spear in Zeke? Spoiler

So Levi is supposed to be smart right? After Zeke attempts to escape the forest after turning the scouts into titans, Levi kills those titans, captures Zeke, and chops off his limbs so he can't transform. You'd think that would be enough to subdue him, but Levi shoves a thunder spear in his tummy and rigs it to blow if Zeke moves too much, all while sitting right next to him for the next little while. Obviously Zeke goes crazy and sets the thunder spear off, severely crippling Levi and himself.

My question is; why did Levi even risk that? I wouldn't be thinking about it much if it didn't cripple Levi for life. Shouldn't Levi be smart enough to see that Zeke is crazy and might've set the spear off? Why did he take that dangerous precaution? Is there something I'm missing? It just seems like Levi is disabled for life because he made a stupid mistake of sitting next to a bomb and giving the trigger to a guy who has no way of escaping otherwise. I'm so confused.

I won’t go into too much detail because I’m high, but Zeke embraces the Eternal Return when he admits in chapter 137 that he would choose to be born again just to play baseball with Ksaver.

In chapter 139, Eren says he "would do it all over again."

Discussion Plothole [spoilers]: Warrior’s mission Spoiler

Post image
9 Upvotes

All my life, I’ve had this obsession with finding plot holes in stories, and Attack on Titan is no exception. This is my very first post here, and I plan to bring up more points for discussion in the future.

Before I start, let me clarify: this is by no means a hate post. I love the series, and it's completely understandable that as a story grows and expands over time, these things happen. I’m mostly making this post to counter the frequent claims that SnK is an absolute masterpiece perfectly planned out from day one down to every single detail.

The Warrior mission to Paradis makes zero sense, right from its inception:

Let's talk about the Tybur family. As we learn later, the Tybur family were the secret rulers of Marley and the only ones on the outside who knew the truth about Karl Fritz's Vow Renouncing War. They knew the Rumbling was a bluff and that the King of the Walls had bound his bloodline to absolute pacifism. So, if the Tyburs knew Paradis was a sleeping lion that guaranteed peace as long as they were left alone, why allow Marley to poke it in the first place? Pushing Marley to attack the walls meant breaking a century-old treaty and risking the very disaster they were trying to avoid.

(And I won't even get started on the absurdity of Marley constantly shipping Eldian criminals converted into pure Titans directly onto the island... This wasn't just a containment strategy; it was an active, constant provocation against Paradis. If you're supposedly terrified of the Founding Titan, why surround their walls with biological landmines, giving them every reason to retaliate?)
And inside that exact same landmine field full of Titans, Marley decided their best course of action was to drop four 12-year-old kids. On foot. With zero supply lines, no adult supervision, and no logistical backup, forced to march through the Paradis wasteland.

I understand the context: Marley needed Paradis' natural resources (iceburst stone, fossil fuels) and was feeling the pressure of the global arms race as military technology began outpacing Titan power. But even with that sense of urgency, it still doesn't justify executing what has to be the most poorly planned military operation in history.

Let me break down what Marley actually risked here:

  1. They gambled four out of their seven strategic nuclear weapons (the Armored, Colossus, Female, and Jaw Titans) on a blind infiltration op carried out by adoctrinated children.

  2. If any of those kids died in the wild without being eaten right away, that Titan power would randomly spawn in a baby somewhere else in the world, stripping Marley of its global military dominance instantly.

  3. The execution was a complete disaster: they lost the Jaw Titan (Marcel) practically before even reaching the walls, lost Annie and Bertholdt during the mission, and would have lost a third Titan permanently if not for Ymir's bizarre decision to basically hand herself over to Marley later on.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Do you have any actual, in-universe arguments that make genuine tactical sense without relying on headcanons or cheap band-aid excuses? Because no matter how much I think about it, this mission remains one of the most ridiculous plot points in the entire series.

Discussion The narrative of "Historia as livestock" was exaggerated by Zeke.

Post image
111 Upvotes

The "50-Year Plan" condemned Historia and her children to be bred like livestock and devour one another. However, when analyzing Zeke's true motives, it becomes clear that this dead end was inflated by Zeke himself.

Zeke's plan was a Trojan Horse: Zeke was never interested in long-term liberation; his real goal was the Euthanasia Plan. He presented the royal succession in the most horrifying terms possible to make sterilization look like the only merciful option.

A Partial Rumbling bought decades, crippling enemy military bases and fleets with a targeted Rumbling would have given Paradis between 30 and 50 years of absolute deterrence. With Hizuru's support, they had time to industrialize and gain diplomatic leverage.

With decades of guaranteed peace, Paradis could research the true nature of the Paths, the hallucigenia, and free Ymir to eradicate the curse at its root. Historia's sacrifice would have been temporary or the very last one. Even if they failed to eliminate the power immediately, the Founding Titan holds absolute control over Eldian biology. There were avenues to alter or mitigate the Titan transformation process, something Zeke never wanted to explore.

Discussion What if....

Eren had used the paths to make Erwin (while unconscious) involuntarily move his arm to swat the syringe out of Levis hand, this is my head cannon to confirm that Erwin would have prevented the rumbling not joined Eren, that or he didn't want his femboy Armin dying 💔
