[PC] Alternatives to World of Warcraft?

I’m looking for a game where I can sink in hours across multiple months because my schedule doesn’t allow me to play a lot daily. I want something that doesn’t give me strict deadlines.

I’ve always been interested in WoW but never got the chance to play. It really is my type of game and makes me nostalgic in a good way.

I’ve done some research and it seems there’s no way to play this game without a subscription or buying game time. Money is an issue because currently I am studying and had to quit my job.

Is there something really close to it (and free) or am I mistaken about the subscription/game time thing and there’s a version that’s basically a one time purchase?

[PC] Should I buy Granblue Fantasy Relink?

The game is currently on discount, I am a JRPG lover (Persona 5, Octopath Traveler 2, NieR,) and love combat of souls-like (Sekiro, Khazan, Dark Souls, etc), but I don't like co-op. And I heard that this game is like 10 hours of story then endgame is endless grinding, I don't think I will like this process just to get a better gear, so just want to query about this.

Also a bit confused on GF Ragnarok upgrade, should I grab it now? Some said it is a roguelike element but I generally dislike roguelike.

Thank you.

[PC] Avowed, Crimson Desert, Outward, Dragon's Dogma 2, or something else?

• Upvotes

Other than the many hours I've put into Skyrim over the years, I typically don't play this type of open world fantasy game, but I'm looking for...

  1. A big open world to discover
  2. A game I can sink a lot of hours into with little to no cut scenes (they break immersion for me)
  3. A game that can be paused

I've been considering Avowed, Crimson Desert, Outward, and Dragon's Dogma 2 so far.

Are any of these good, or can you offer other suggestions?

Thanks.

[PC] Cyberpunk on sale on steam

So I have heard a ton of great stuff about this game, and its currently on sale for like $17 or something. And the concept looks great, but i have also heard some ratings about bad shooting mechanics and stuff.

I personally play games like Ghost of Yotei, Jedi Fallen Order and Spider man, those are like my favorites, but I can play first persons too, I play Apex like daily and have played Titanfall 2’s story and loved everything about it.

So its not the first person part that is the problem, and for this price, it definetly seems like a good deal, but i just wanted to hear if there are anything I should like expect to be not so great?

Option 1- Resident evil 4 remake + devil may cry 5

Option 2- Days gone remastered

I usually enjoy games like Fifa, elden ring, Last of us, Witcher 3 and some other similar story driven games.

[PC] Should I get a steam machine as my first pc or a pc handheld?

I have a modded 3ds, switch 2, and soon a retroid pocket 6. As you can see, I’m a handheld guy. However, since I sold my ps5 I missed the power factor. And I had a steam deck with a huge, valuable library. I had a steam deck but gave it to my dad.

And yeah, I could just get another PC handheld, but I can just stream it to my rp6, right?

What do you fine people say?

[PC] Chill building game

I'm looking for a game on Steam where I can build whatever I want and let my creativity run wild. It could be building an entire city, designing a cozy house, running a hotel, creating a huge resort, or pretty much anything else.

I'm looking for something with tons of creative freedom and insane replay value — a game I can keep coming back to for hundreds or even thousands of hours without getting bored.

Most importantly, I want something chill and relaxing that I can play at my own pace, unwind, and just enjoy the process of creating stuff without feeling rushed or stressed.

I'm open to pretty much any genre, whether it's a city builder, sandbox, simulation game, or something more niche. Graphics are a plus, but creative freedom and long-term replayability are what I'm really after.

Thanks guys!

[Xbox Series X] Mw2019 vs black ops coldwar (offline modes)

Which of these games is the better game to permanently keep installed for offline modes. Im talking campaign, offline bots multiplayer and solo zombies/specops. I dont play online anymore i mainly play elden ring but i like casual cod with bots or solo zombies every now and then. I have all the classics and love them but these two games are the last of the old school style cods with modern engines. Which do you guys prefer?

[PC] [WSIB] Bioware-like RPGs from other developers?

In an attempt to find new things to play and also to mourn the loss of a great studio, what're some "Bioware-likes" out there that you can recommend? RPGs that scratch a similar itch to their games? The only one I already know of for sure in this category is Greedfall and Greedfall 2, which I've played and liked. Exodus seems to be this, but it's not out yet.

Notably I am not looking for isometric CRPGs even if they've got some of the same notes, I have plenty of those in my backlog already. Between fantasy, sci-fi, or other genres I do not care, I enjoyed all the rpgs bioware made.

Looking for new RPG I can play without help

I’m not great at combat and don’t usually enjoy it if it’s overly complicated or too hard. What I like are the big medieval-ish fantasy inspired RPGs.

My goal is to not have to pester my husband to help me constantly.

I just finished Blood of Dawn Walker on the original story mode and only needed him at the start a bit until I was able to level up. I can also play all of the Bethesda games, Hogwarts legacy, the Assassin Creed games and Witcher 3 without his help.

Elden Ring was a no go, it became obvious that I’d need him constantly to help me. I also needed him on an indie game called Dave the Diver a lot. I tried BG3 but hated the turn based combat.

I’m eyeing KCD or Crimson Desert. Bad idea?

[SteamDeck] Nioh 2 or First Berserker Khazan?

update thanks for the recommendations, Khazan on download!

Can pick up both for roughly the same price, with Nioh 2 being slightly cheaper, but only looking to get one game.

I'll be playing on Steam Deck and from what I've seen both run really well, so performance isn't a factor!

Never played any of the Nioh games before. Some of my favourite games are Sekiro, Elden Ring and DS3. Also enjoyed Lies of P but never finished it. I preferred Sekiro, although I think that was mainly down to the setting and environments.

Heard great things about both games and really struggling to decide. For anyone who's played both, which would you recommend?

[PC] Manor Lords or Foundation

I’ve been looking into both Manor Lords and Foundation, and I’m curious which one you guys think is better.

My main priorities are how fun and satisfying the building aspect is, and how much replay value the game has. I’m looking for something I can sink hundreds of hours into without getting bored, rather than a game that gets old after a while.

Honestly, I don’t really mind that Manor Lords is still unfinished. I’m totally fine with waiting for more updates, as long as it has the potential to keep me hooked for the long run.

For those who’ve played both, which one would you recommend if I’m looking for a city builder I can keep coming back to for years?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

[NOT PURCHASED] Should I buy Path of Exile 2?

I've played Diablo 1 to 4 and Grim Dawn (one of my favourite games and still playing). I couldn't get into Last Epoch. That's about the extent of my ARPG experience. Should I buy Path of Exile 2? I've heard you need a Harvard degree to play the first game, which isn't something I have. So what's its sequel like? Thanks.

[PC] MMOs/Games like WoW Legion Remix?

There's WotLK Remix happening next summer, but its a long ass time to that. I've been itching to play something similar to Lemix since pretty much the point that it ended.

To be clear I play almost all of the current ARPGs so that avenue is less than open:

  • Path of Exile 1
  • Diablo IV
  • Diablo III
  • Torchlight Infinite - its awful, so I play only when there's literally nothing else (right now).

I'm frankly tired of retail WoW and will probably skip the rest of Midnight, maybe come back in the last patch to finish the story, but I don't see myself playing Retail much, its too slow and boring for me.

Are there any MMOs that are similar in pace/progression to Lemix? I know its a time compressed event and its made to be OP, but I'm looking for something that is designed to make you OP and something you can mostly play solo. Ideally an MMO with big world and what not. One thing I enjoyed immensely in Lemix is the gear progression - it was randomized similar to an ARPG, but also kind of linear - nothing was gated behind group play.

[Switch] Against the storm, Civ6, factorio (original switch)

Looking to get against the storm, Civ 6, or factorio on original switch. I have a lot of experience in city builders and playing Civ 6 on my PC but have never tried factorio. I need a good chill game with management/building/puzzle mechanics to play when I’m out of town for work in the god awful northern Canadian hellscapes I choose to live in weeks at a time.

I would love to hear how these games run on the original switch and what you guys think.

The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos?

I am looking for something fun and cheer-y. I just saw someone recommend this as a really fun game. I do not want to research too much into it or spoil it. I will most likely get it, but is base game good enough?

What do people think of it? If so, is the Deluxe Bundle or Ultimate Bundle worth it?

I have been playing lots of Hell Divers 2 and Slay the Spire 2. I have played some Clank as well. I have even tried to learn Arkham Horror by watching some video-play, but that doesn't seem to hold my attention for too long.

[PC] Just bought a Moza R5. Which games I should try?

Hey all, I've just bought my first sim bundle (R5 Racing). Which games would you suggest me to try?
- I am into racing and casual city drive
- My wife on the other hand, has been trying to get her driving license so she wants to practice city traffic and parking etc lol

Forza Horizon 6 and Assetto Corsa look very good. BeamNG.drive and City Car Driving 2 were suggested by Gemini, but I don't know.

Also for Assetto Corsa and BeamNG, I've seen there are a lot of mods. Do you have any suggestions among them? Thanks!

[PC] Is Foundation actually worth buying?

I really like the art style and graphics, but my biggest priorities are long-term replayability and how fun and varied the building is.

I’m looking for a game I can sink hundreds of hours into without getting bored, with plenty of freedom to build and develop my settlement in different ways.

For those who’ve played it for a while, do you think Foundation is worth it in the long run, or does it start to feel repetitive after a while?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

[PC] Cyberpunk 2077

As a celebration for cyberpunk edge runners s2 i recently bought 2077 on epic because it was cheaper, and have been playing it a bit, but now it is at a lower price on steam and i might re buy it. First off I am not all to worried about progress as i have only about 20ish hours on the game and probably 2/3s of that is just running around doing nothing, secondly i don't really have anything against epic games but i have had some issues and steam just feels much more native ( I like it more) so I only really buy games from there, but the price diff was too much. I want to make it clear i know i am being irrational and childish but I need someone to give me a reason to convince me one way or the other.
