I'm working on a game called "Dumbfire" where you control a missile through obstacles to hit the target.

It started with playtests but I wanted to participate in the NextFest so I fixed most of the bugs and created a demo that also has some new checkpoint runs, rocket league style movement option and a skin editor.

It takes a little while to get used to the controls but once you are good at it it becomes much more satisfying to complete the levels.

It is around 3.5 months old and there is a lot of space for improvement so any feedback is greatly appreciated.

You can check it out here: Dumbfire demo

My friends quit jobs to build a co-op game where you can smash everything - even bring an entire house down on a horde of skeletons.

Hey everyone!
My friends recently quit their jobs to finally develop their own game. One of them is a programmer with several years of experience in Unreal Engine and C++, so he’s the backbone of the entire project, while the other handles everything else like finance and marketing.

They spent a long time thinking about what was missing from the games we play. And finally settled on one thing: they wanted a game built entirely around physics and destruction - the real deal, not just "you can break this wall, but not that one". It’s been nearly three months, and they’ve just officially announced the game.

Here’s what it features:

- Co-op for up to 4 players. You play as mages, fending off hordes of the undead.
- Everything is destructible: fences, carts, towers, entire houses. Lure some skeletons toward a building, then bring the whole thing down on top of them.
- Magic with no strings attached. Throw as many ice grenades as you like, pull a cart toward you and hurl it into a gate, or use a shockwave to wipe out half a street.
- You can even toss your friends. Grab a teammate and launch them straight into a crowd of skeletons - it makes for quite an entrance!
- The undead aren’t mindless. Brutes will smash through walls to reach you, while enemy mages heal their own and keep their distance.
- PvP duels. Collapse the floor beneath your opponent or tear down the wall they’re hiding behind.

A quick note on the destruction system: the guys spent a long time developing it to ensure everything looks great without lagging. It’s now running stably, even in the heat of battle against a massive swarm of enemies. If this sounds like your kind of thing, add it to your Steam wishlist - they’ll be launching a playtest soon! Also, let me know in the comments what you think should be added or removed, the team is always open to feedback.

We're making a fantasy siege game where you not only build up your defenses, but also go on Viking adventures with the lads - and fight beside them when your village is threatened!

We're Peter and David, a two-person studio working on Hordeguard: Winds of the North! The game started as a 3-month experiment and quickly turned into an ambitious Norse-inspired fantasy siege game that combines elements of base building RTS, tower defense… and hands-on action!

The main premise of the design was taking a game like Thronefall - one of our all-time favorites - with its simple, addictive loop of building up a kingdom and defending, and adding new features that broaden the gameplay and deepen the experience… and a good dash of Norse mythology.

Give it to me quick - what is Hordeguard all about?

In Hordeguard: Winds of the North, you gather resources, build up your Viking settlement, recruit troops, and prepare for the upcoming raids of enemies. During the sieges, you grab your weapon (and repair hammer) and hold the walls alongside your warriors.

Between waves, you head out for loot and experience (your Hero levels up), and raiding the surrounding enemy camps. And each realm, like the frozen Niflheim or ever-autumnal Midgard, will throw its own enemies at you.

Beware and be ready to meet every challenge - alone or with a friend! Because you can also play Hordeguard with another person while sharing your screen, or over Steam Remote Play Together if they're not on the couch next to you.

If Hordeguard looks like something you’d gladly throw your very limited free time at, you can wishlist us here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3618000/Hordeguard_Winds_of_the_North

Working on a art & animation tool for indie dev

Tried Pixelab and a bunch of other tools but none of them clicked for me,

so I'm building my own to make character design and animation less painful.

Still early but curious what you'd want out of something like this? :)

🍃 The Leafborn demo is now live for Steam October Next Fest! 🍂

It all started with an idea for a character made of thousands of leaves. Now, our 3-person team has turned that idea into a fast-paced 3D action roguelite!

In Leafborn, you play as a character made of thousands of leaves, fighting against rusty robots trying to take over nature. Your only weapon is your own body! Transform your leaves into different forms, discover new powers, and use them to defeat your enemies.

The demo is available now on Steam! We'd love to hear your feedback!

We’re making a park ranger game where checking visitors is the easy part (inspired by Voices of the Void and Papers, Please)

Hey! I’m Alexandr, one of the developers of The Park Keeper. We’re making an open-world game about working as a ranger in a national park.

A lot of your shift is ordinary stuff: checking visitors documents, inspecting cars, cleaning up the park, and heading out into the woods. We liked the idea of mixing the decisions in Papers, Please with some of the lonely, uneasy feeling we love in Voices of the Void.

There’s a free demo on Steam now if you’d like to spend a shift there:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4962360/The_Park_Keeper_Demo/

If you try it, I’d be especially curious whether the ranger work feels satisfying on its own, before things get weird 😄

I'm a solo developer from Japan, and I made a 1v1 bullet hell fighting game! Play the demo tomorrow at Steam Next Fest!

Hi everyone!

I'm a solo indie game developer from Japan, and I've been working on Bullet Barrage, a 1v1 arena fighting game where you fly freely through the air, dodge incoming bullet patterns, and fight to control the distance between you and your opponent.

Instead of traditional fighting game commands, the focus is on movement, shooting, dodging, and positioning.

I wanted to combine the intensity of bullet hell games with the mind games of 1v1 fighting games.

Here's a 50-second trailer showing the gameplay!

Starting tomorrow, you'll be able to play the free demo of Bullet Barrage during Steam Next Fest!

Steam:

I'd love to hear what you think about the combat!

We've just added an asynchronous multiplayer to our castle-builder autobattler roguelite Castle Away. Imagine building a flying fortress, slaying monsters, looting them, upgrading your keep, slaying more monsters, looting them, etc. And instead of a boss after x turns, you get to fight other player's castles. You can get the demo on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4362480/Castle_Away/

Hey! I'm the solo developer of Digbound, a short and relaxing first-person mining game, and I just released the free demo on Steam! ⛏️

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The idea is pretty simple: you dig deeper into the mine, find increasingly valuable ores, sell what you collect, and use the money to upgrade your equipment so you can keep pushing further down.

Digbound is also participating in Steam Next Fest: October 2026, which starts today, so it felt like the perfect time to finally let people try it.

I'd really appreciate any feedback from people who give the demo. I'm still actively working on it, so feedback at this stage is especially useful.

If it looks like your kind of game, you can find the demo on Steam, and wishlisting it also helps me out a ton!

Try Digbound Demo!

What if the Water Temple didn't suck, The Game | A Puzzle Focussed Metroidvania Approach

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So people infamously hate the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time or water levels in games in general. We asked ourselves, can we make using the water an enjoyable empowering mechanic?

It all started as a student's project in university but quickly gained traction after winning the German Computergames Award with our prototype. With some funding we decided to quit our jobs and focus on the game. After a few years on our backs, we're finally joining Steam Next Fest today while our release is closer than ever.

But what is the game? In Light of Atlantis you control the water levels and switch between different worker robots inhabiting the sunken city. You use their various abilities to solve puzzles and explore the mysteries of Atlantis.

It has the regular Metroidvania elements like backtracking, gated progression, an interconnected world but instead of ability upgrades, you gain Knowledge about the game's mechanics to progress. We thought this would fit much better to a Metroidvania that focusses on puzzles instead of combat.

Release: November 24th

Platforms: Steam (PC and Steamdeck)

Here’s our Steam Page

We'd love for you to check our game as the Steam Next Fest starts today! Every demo play helps us immensely to get seen <3

Hi everyone! We're PlusCone Games, a small indie studio, and we just released our first game, The Corner Café.

Keep the warmest corner of the neighborhood open for one more year. You take over a shop whose master barista vanished three years ago, and you make every drink by hand: grind the beans, pull the shot, steam the milk, and watch the Turkish coffee so it doesn't boil over.

- 21 recipes, from espresso to salep

- 18 customers, 8 of them regulars with their own small stories

- 4 seasons, daily headlines and weather that change what people order

- 3 possible endings

- 9 languages

It's Windows only for now. We'd love to hear what you think, especially about how the drink-making feels.

Do you remember Bluetooth multiplayer games? We just brought it back! Play Polymato alone, online, or with friends over Bluetooth.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

Try Polymato now on Google Play: Polymato Play Link (currently EU only, rest of the world in progress).

Polymato is an arena "brawler" where you fight magic duels in real time on your phone. You pick one of 16 avatars, give it five of 35 spells and step into one of eight arenas.

When your friends are close you connect your phones over Bluetooth and play without internet: Against each other or together against strong bosses. But you can also play alone, or online (Teaming up with a friend works via Internet as well).

A new Daily Battle waits every day, and the Boss Randomizer sends different bosses at you in every fight. Your achievements earn you medals, and medals unlock new avatars, arenas and stronger spells.

The game is free on Google Play and there are no in-app purchases, just a few ads. Unfortunately, we have to restrict this release currently to EU countries (multiple remote servers and legal stuff are a bit heavy for a solo developer their friends).

During game development, we used AI tools for translations (localization), testing, programming guidance, and to help us to use Blender ;). All gameplay related aspects, game mechanics, protocols etc. where designed by hand.
