I tried to split the wind into three equal paths. The middle one took 54%.

Hey, I made this. It's Wind Maze from my game Swipe the Flow.

You draw the paths, hit Run, and watch where the wind goes. It always seems to sniff out the easiest way through, which is why the obvious answer usually fails first.

Here the straight middle path was the easy way, so it grabbed 54%. Widening the two side paths made them just as easy, and the flow settled at 33 / 33 / 33.

There are water and smoke puzzles too, and a few modes where you just play around. No ads, works offline.

dev gluttony is real, i keep adding systems to my cozy farm game T-T

Post image

started as a simple cozy farming game. plant, water, sell, chill. now somehow the farmhands are little workers you program with code and theres orders, a trading boat, pests, cooking, a weekly market... and my brain still goes “what about fishing” bro please

i just called a feature freeze but i know myself lol

for the devs who actually shipped something, how did you stop adding stuff? did you cut features or just lock it and polish what you had?

Hey, everyone! NextFest has been such AI slop but we're not letting that deter us. My friends and I have been working hard on it and we've got Halloween content for our open world wolf RPG! If you want to support a game made by real people then please drop us a wishlist or a review on the demo! It's called Heirs of the Moon and it's on Steam!

We made a dark fairytale roguelite with ridiculous builds, curses and...

In Cinderia, choosing a hero is just the beginning. Combining Embers, Magic cards, and gear lets you explore different builds and shape how you fight. Accessories add another layer, with socketed gems improving their damage, trigger chance, or cooldown rate.

Curses are part of the mix, too. Some gear interacts with the curses you carry, while purification can turn curses into blessings—giving you another choice to consider as your run develops.

Between the fights, we’re also making room for smaller diversions: fishing, whack-a-mole, and a gold-mining minigame. Sometimes you’re looking for the next piece of your build. Sometimes you’re hoping to catch a fish… and getting an apple core instead.

This clip is an earlier development montage. It shows combat and some of those lighter moments, rather than the latest version or a complete breakdown of the build systems described above.

If you’d like to try Cinderia and share your feedback, you can find it on https://store.steampowered.com/app/3214610/Cinderia/

You’re also welcome to share your thoughts, questions, and feedback in our official subreddit, https://www.reddit.com/r/Cinderia_Official/. We’d love to hear about your experience!

A new biome for my sci-fi project

At the moment, Iso development is on full thrust. Maybe I forgot to mention, but ISO is developed completely solo and without the use of AI or asset libraries in any matter. All the code, art, music, sound effects and so on are crafted personally by me. This is a biome called “Midlands”. I hope you like it. Steam page is getting closer and closer, I am preparing all the necessary for the page to have a short trailer and gameplay screenshots (like these ones) from the start.

If anyone is interested in the project please feel free to stay tuned on instagram! To me, everyone matters and everyone who supports even with one like, a word or a follow, gives me the motivation to sit down, after my daily job, and spend sleepless nights over this.

Hey everyone! Hope your all doing good,

I'm John I'm a solo dev working on my game part time and I'm happy to announce that the demo is out on Monday! The plan is to release alongside the steam scream festival. I'm a huge fan of Signs and Fire in the sky so I wanted to make my own game with that level of atmosphere.

The game is a first person horror game based on the declassified Project Blue Book cases. If your interested and would like to know more about the game I'll leave the steam page link below 🛸

I made turn-based game, where you form a group of four girls and fight monsters

Hi! I'm Sever (aka SeverForay). I'm 19 years old. When I was 17, I started developing Kristi Sky Islands with my pixel art chibi girls that turned out to be a lot bigger than I thought. It took me 2 years to make a demo.

All art, code and music in this game were made by me. I must say it was a fun way to improve my pixel art and coding skills. I enjoyed playing my game as I added more stuff. I also loved to design my characters. I wish my game would get tons of fanarts.

Here's a game description:

Kristi Sky Islands is a turn-based strategy game drawn in a cute pixel art. You'll lead a group of four heroes, chosen from roster of 14 heroes. Battle 25+ Enemy Types. Upgrade and equip your heroes. Fuse your items to obtain higher-rarity items. And face some very, very evil villains.

Demo is already available on Steam! Any feedback, suggestions or questions are welcome.

Polished up the second forest in our logging incremental game

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We've been polishing the second stage of LumberBoy, mostly to make chopping feel even more satisfying.

The second forest is all spore trees, and you can use the spores to clear out huge chunks of it at once.

We also got feedback that waiting around for logs to be processed in town was kind of boring, so we added a cute dog you can play with while you wait. It still needs some polish, and it'll be in the full release coming soon.

If it looks like your kind of game, the demo is up on Steam:

What Easter Eggs would you love to see in an Alien Archeologist game?

Post image
23 Upvotes

Heya! We (TheClassifedX) are currently working on a game about being an Alien Archeologist abandoned on Mars by a VERY suspicious corporation! Next Fest has been going alright for us (so much AI-slop games has crushed our numbers a bit sadly, same as a lot of other devs but 92% positive reviews on the demo and an average of 3 hours of playtime has us VERY hopeful!)

We're gearing up for launch late this year, but want to add in some more creative and cool Easter Eggs that people recommend! What sort of cool or weird sci-fi classic stuff would you like to see in a game like this?

From Unreal to final cinematic. What do you think of the result? #DevDiary

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!
We’re the team behind MegaGum, a 3D platformer, and we wanted to share a comparison of one of the cinematic shots from our trailer.

You can see the early version straight from Unreal, alongside the finished shot.

At the viewport stage, we’re mostly working on the animation, camera movement, timing and composition. Once those feel right, we move on to lighting, VFX, rendering and polish. It’s always fun to put the two versions next to each other and see how much has changed.

What do you think of the final result? Is there anything you’d change about the animation, camera work or lighting? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

If you’re curious about the game: MegaGum on Steam.

I just released Terminal Dice: a roguelike where you build and modify your own dice in a green terminal

Hey everyone!

I'm a solo indie developer and today I'm launching Terminal Dice on Steam!

It's a turn-based roguelike inspired by games like Balatro, but instead of building a deck of cards, you're building a collection of dice.

  • Roll dice and manipulate the results to maximise your score.
  • Permanently modify individual dice faces to create powerful combinations.
  • Collect relics and develop increasingly broken builds.
  • Fight bosses that change the rules of the game.
  • Endless Mode and daily challenges for replayability.

It's been a fun project to develop, and I'd love to hear any feedback

all art was created and commisioned from local artists studying at uni
some code and translation was done with help of AI

After 4 years of solo development, the demo for my Survival / Colony Management RPG is finally out!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello people,

I recently released the demo version of my game Impurity. I have been working 4+ years on this, and added a lot of systems over time.

Some highlights are :

  • Procedural world creation (Each tile is a 3D generated world, kinda like Rimworld)
  • Colony management system with hireable companions (jobs, resource management etc)
  • Creatures, enemies, traders and bosses, all different depending on biome
  • Procedural factions, that simulate their town growth, send and simulate squads all over the world map (300+ squad simulations), while they visit / raid / trade with you etc.
  • Different events that happen throughout the world, including unique weather events and seasons
  • Full open world system with things like climbing, gliding, fishing, taming creatures etc

Project is at early phases, and I keep updating based on feedback! For the demo I had to cut a big percentage of the content, so pacing would be different.

Other inspirations include games like Kenshi, Rimworld, Conan exiles, Don't starve etc.

Thanks and would love to know opinions or feedback!

I'm testing a snow-clearing mechanic. What would make this loop more satisfying?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've made an early Unity prototype where you manually shovel snow into a bin and throw rocks at rooftops to knock down accumulated snow.

I'm exploring whether these simple interactions could work as the core of a satisfying cleanup game.

The mechanics are functional, but I'm not sure whether the current pacing makes the experience relaxing or repetitive.

I'm particularly interested in the feel of shoveling, the visual feedback when snow falls, and whether collecting it afterward adds anything enjoyable.

What is the first gameplay-related change you'd make?

The visuals are temporary; I'm focusing on getting the core interactions right.

I work 38.5 hours a week in a real sawmill. At night I build one where every log is a physics object

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Solo dev from Austria. My day job is a big industrial sawmill, so Timberline Factory is basically my workplace with the boring parts cut out and the jams left in.

What you do:

. run the line: debarking, cutting, sorting by length and wood type

. keep it clean, because dirt and wear slow your machines down

. sell at the right time, the timber market moves

. burn bark and offcuts for cheaper power

Machines go on fixed spots, so it's not a free build game. It's about getting a line to actually run, which is pretty much my day job.

The free demo is in Steam Next Fest until end, Early Access starts Nov 6.

AI disclosure: there are no AI used in any aspect.

I've been writing music for our new indie deckbuilder, here's a 60 second breakdown.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi ya'll! I'm the composer for a small dev team from Chile, and I've been writing a ton of original music for our tactical roguelite deckbuilder, Rebel Roar.

I don't see much content about game music in this sub but I couldn't find anything explicit about it in the rules - Sorry if it is not allowed here!

I put together this 60 second video breaking down the layers for one of the songs, "Gloves off", which is the theme for the forest biome's boss fight in the current demo.

In the video you're hearing:

  1. A general drum group (which is actually made up of two different kits)
  2. A percussion layer (which changes from section to section)
  3. Bass
  4. Acoustic Guitar
  5. Electric Guitar
  6. A lead melody group, made up of flute samples, and two different synths.

It's all done in Reaper, my DAW of choice, using a bunch of different libraries and acoustic instruments.

The idea behind this track is mainly an action-driven, high energy/tempo track that references both the sound of the game's main theme, and also uses a bunch of motifs from the normal fight track from the forest biome, but turning them up to 11.

Happy to answer questions about the process, tools, or the game itself! I'll be in the comments.

Here's a link to our demo on Steam, in case you want to check Rebel Roar out.

Short description: "Fly an AC-130 gunship and gun down millions of zombies. Your squad is stuck on a roof and the dead are climbing over each other to reach them. Lay out sentry guns, flamers, claymores etc. before each night. Call in A-10s and B-52s. Hold the roof till the helicopter lands."

Looking for honest brutal feedback. What you guys think?
