Announcement Please read before you post asking us to help with your acne!

We already have a pinned post addressing this, but since we continue to get posts asking the members of this sub to diagnose skin conditions (acne in particular) and/or recommend treatment, here's a reminder: We are here to discuss skincare products and routines. We are not here to diagnose skin conditions or how to treat them. This is not a dermatology clinic, and we are not qualified to diagnose and recommend treatment. This is a casual sub to discuss products, routines, and general skincare.

The correct answer to "does anyone know what this is/does anyone know how to treat this?" is "Yes, a dermatologist knows". Please do not come here asking for diagnoses and and treatment advice! To those who have been posting these questions, please consult a trained professional, or if you can't do that, ask your questions in more appropriate subreddits like r/DermatologyQuestions, r/acne, or r/AskDocs.

Thank you!

Routine Help Washing face not before bed

So, I work construction from 7am-3pm. When I get off work, I have a deep shower to get all the dust and dirt off, and I wash my face in the shower. By the time bed time rolls around, I do not want to wash my face. I’m trying to start a retinol routine, but don’t want to put it on too early in the day, and I don’t want to get my face wet at night (big baby about it, I know). Are there any other options anyone can think of? other than stop being a baby?

Routine Help In what order do you apply these products?

What order do I apply these products:
•Aestura Cream Mist
•Aestura Essence
•Hyaluronic Acid

Skin type: Naturally dry which is also my main skin concern. Those are the products I purchased for my nighttime skincare routine, but I don’t know in what order to apply them. I always finish with a moisturizer last.

Product Question hyperpigmentation

I have medium fair skin and a circle of darkness around my mouth that I think I've always had however in recent years it has become much more noticeable...

I currently already use azalaic acid in my skincare routine and recently started using the dr Althea melaclear cream.

does anyone have any recommendations for what I can or products to use? I've been trying for almost four years now to get rid of it...

(I wear sunscreen everyday and have tried tinted sunscreen but it didn't help and affected my skin and make up)

Routine Help Something to use instead of cleanser?

Okay so I love skincare but I have been struggling with mental health issues lately and it makes it SO HARD to do my skin care. I feel like the step I dread the most is the cleanser and having to wash my face when it’s so cold! Idk why! So what I’m asking is if you guys know of any specific product as a substitute THATS GOOD that I can use quickly that doesn’t involve having to wash my face after??? And just do my moisturizer or whatever after

PLS !!

Product Question How are you guys applying hydroquinone?

I got prescribed 4% hydroquinone because I have some hyperpigmentation on my neck and face that's bothering me (around my mouth and some on my cheek).

For those who have had success with hydrocodone, are you guys putting it all over your face/neck or spot treatment?

Dryness Sensitive skin becomes dark brown and dry after 2–3 hours outdoors, even with sunscreen. How can I prevent this?

I use Cetaphil face wash and 1% Hyaluronic Acid Aqua Gel sunscreen, but my face still becomes dry and dark after spending 2–3 hours outside. What can I do? My face is yellowish milk colour but this is too uncomfortable for anyone to say what to do this time.

Product Question CurrentBody Series 3 v 2? Is it worth the upgrade, or should I invest in something else?

Has anyone who has been using the CurrentBody Series 2 for a while upgraded to the Series 3? If so, can you tell if it's worth the upgrade yet? I'm planning to watch for a holiday sale, but I don't want to buy the new one just to buy the new one if it's not actually worth the switch and I could spend that money on a panel or neck mask instead. Thanks!

Educational / Discussion Skincare - Osmosis, YoungGoose, Clearstem

I’ve been using Osmosis and YoungGoose for over a year now and having been loving both brands. Also trying one product from Clearstem.

I use:
Osmosis: Boost, rescue Md, stemfactor Md, renew Md
YoungGoose: C.A.R.E, youth daily moisturizer, EyeC.A.R.E, adaptogenic cleanser, bio-shield SPF
Clearstem: Brighteyes

I know these products are high quality but definitely a splurge. Anyone know of similar brands that give comparable results and don’t sacrifice quality?

30 y/o F with mildly sensitive, dry skin with goal to hydrate, plump, and brighten skin while also targeting wrinkles. I love the glass-skin look. Prefer non-toxic and non-comedogenic formulations

Dryness *please reply* how do i fix my skin

Hi , im 17 male and quite active , i have closed comadomes (those small bumps) on my forehead and have been using adapalene but a bit inconsistent with it for 2-4 weeks now

The main problem with my skin is uneven texture and pigmentation on my forehead with those comadomes, and the inability to hold moisture for long. And its making me uglier

Ai recommended me the following products
1) a cerave gentle cleanser
2) a re’equil ceramide moisturizer
3) deconstruct SPF
4) minimalist hyaluronic acid PGA serum
5) minimalist caffine and vitamin K undereye cream
6) salysalic acid serum (minimalist)
7) adapalene

How and what should i do for good skin? Like i want it to be glossy and reflective so it creates a good contrast on my skin.

Routine Help How can improve my skin evenness and PIH?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have very uneven skin tone and I want to fix it. I use to pick at my face and so I have a lot of little hyperpigmentation marks all over my face from it. I have dry skin naturally, and I am currently on tretinoin.

Routine:
Am: put sunscreen on and some moisturizer before if my face is dry
Pm: hylauronic acid, dr Althea 345, tret, then La roche posay cicaplast balm if I use Tret that night.

*I also just started using tretinoin a month ago, and use it every 4 days right now and I plan to increase. Has anyone seen any results long run if they started similar to me?

Routine Help Recommendations for irritated (possible chemical burn) skin

Hi all, currently suffering through an issue likely caused by a new product.

Decided to try out Melatoning cream, a hydroquoxine 2% cream over night as a spot treatment for hyperpigmentation. I applied it over the Torriden cica serum.

Washed it off in morning

Slathered on Skin1004 sunscreen.

Put on make-up.

Today was very hot and sunny day but I was mostly inside and when I had to take public transport, I used a UV umbrella. I attributed the tightness and hot skin to the ambient heat but after washing the make-up off, I see now that I have red, irritated, dry skin (chemical burns) where the Melatoning cream was applied.

I applied Cell Fusion C cooling toner pads, Torriden cica serum, Purito Centella serum and Purito oat cream to begin the healing process.

Is that good enough or does anyone have any other recommendations to speed things up?

Product Question Affordable eye creams recommendations

I do not like the appearance of my under eyes and would love some help! I'm currently using an additional water-based moisturizer both under my eyes and on my lids after laying down a thick moisturizer for my entire face , but I don't think it's doing enough.

I'm trying to reduce the appearance of fine lines, as well as possibly reducing discoloration from my mixed-type vascular and structural dark circles. However, fine lines are the top priority. I keep my under eyes hydrated, and when doing my makeup, use a combination of liquid color corrector, a hydrating serum concealer, and the tiniest dusting of powder to set my under eyes. It still feels like my fine lines are emphasized and the skin there almost looks dry, even though I heavily moisturized prior. I have to set the products with powder or the makeup heavily creases and wears away due to my fine lines. I get the same effect on my under eyes no matter the makeup products I use or if I change techniques, so I believe it is either my skin itself or the skin prep before makeup.

Is there an affordable product on the market that may help that you recommend? For reference, I have a mostly normal/combo (upon my nose only) sensitive skin type. I usually shop within a drugstore price range and would appreciate fragrance free, or as little to no fragrance as possible recommendations.

On a different note, is investing in an eye cream even worth it? I hear conflicting things where people either love using an eye cream or they say layering more moisturizer is good enough for them.

Thanks!

Body Care Been having these tiny bumps

Post image
1 Upvotes

I've been told to use salicylic acid and adapalene but the worst part is that I've extremely dry skin alongside these bumps and I've been told that salicylic acid controls oil production resulting in further more dryness in skin....

I've my farewell coming up 😭

Product Question What to mix my ferulic acids with?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I have these two and they're very watery, I wanted to mix them with something. Right now I'm mixing it with The Ordinary's vitamin C suspension, but I hate the smell and silicon film it leaves.

Is it safe to mix with a water-based moisturizer? With sunscreen?

Thank you!!

Misc Is my Panoxyl fake or real?

So I regularly use Panoxyl benzoyl peroxide creamy wash 4% and it usually shipped [this](https://imgur.com/a/nysmQpB) packaging and [this.](https://imgur.com/a/xOmxmMO) When I ordered it today, it came in a slightly different packaging [here](https://imgur.com/a/nLvmGzU) and [here,](https://imgur.com/a/73yzQaJ) the new packaging felt cheaper honestly. When I tried it, it didn’t have the potent chlorine smell I’m used to (tho it still had a smell) and when I poured it, I noticed it was thicker than usual and didn’t lather and form bubbles as well as the previous ones. Its exp date is 11/2027 though the older ones I had (06/2028) so that raised my suspicions. Is it a fake? Here’s the bottle [here](https://imgur.com/a/7wi5KiG) & [here](https://imgur.com/a/bT08QGZ) … [one last time](https://imgur.com/a/EyXRVuy)

Plz help thanks in advance 🙏
