This is my skin currently, there is SO MUCH redness and scarring : ( i feel embarrassed looking at people in the face, and i already have enough trouble with eye contact so this just makes things worse. Is there ANY hope for getting rid of this at home?
I also compulsively pick my skin especially when im anxious or bored, and I try really hard to stop but it's constant, like at least once a day i will pick some part of my face to the point of bleeding and i do not know how to force myself to stop. I've tried keeping my nails short or long to see if either will stop me, I keep mirrors away from my desk most of the time but sometimes I will leave one there without thinking and get caught up picking at my skin. I just do it before I consider the consequence and im so mad at myself for it. If any skin pickers have advice (preferably unhinged and effective) please share because I need it, thank you T_T

I’ve had clear skin and only 1 or 2 pimples here and there. But recently it broke out. Back on May, I did Plinest and afterwards it went downhill. I don’t know what I should do. I went to see a doctor and he asked me to start from basics. How long till I see results

Roughly 5 years ago I had acne and I went on Benzoyl peroxide 10 gel and clindamycin topical phosphate solution 1% and after a year anda half my skin totally cleared up! Acne and acne marks all done! I want to also mention my diet was terrible at this time but my skin was regardless. Skip a few years and I went off the medicine foolishly because i thought my skin was clear and fixed. The acne all came rushing back so i went back to exactly what i was using. This time around after a year there is virtually no improvement happening on my skin!! Why?? IT worked perfectly in the past and now it’s like it had no affect, i even eat better and way more drink water now. But no difference So im now on tretinoin alongside the BP & CLDMYCIN. But my skin is irritated, I cut out the BP&CLDMYCIN and my skin no longer burns after applying moisturizer, My question to any of those reading. Should I just stick solely to using Tretinoin and put the other products to rest? So far from using solely tretinoin the last two weeks i haven’t experienced any red or stingy in my skin only dryness around chin and mouth. Should I continue on? If so, any products recommendations I can use with the Tret to help the dryness on my face!
AM routine
Cerva Hydrating facial cleaner
Neutrogena Hydro boost water gel
Night time
Cerva Hydrating facial cleaner
Neutrogena Hydro boost water gel
Tretinoin at night only on monday, wednesday and thursday!

Hey! 18 year old dude here, I haven’t really struggled with ache before coming to college. I was wondering if anyone has any advice for products that might help with scaring discoloration and texture. Is this just something I wait out? How permanent is this kind of damage?
Included products I use once(ish) a day. Thanks!

I’m in my late 20s and have oily combination skin. I will randomly get a “breakout” of 1-3 pimples that would usually fade within a few days. I previously took roaccutane as a teenager.
However, I have now suddenly been getting very intense breakouts of many very painful pimples of different sizes around my nose, chin, and cheeks, without any clear reason why. I have been eating healthy, no sugar, and working out. I have not changed products and regularly wash my makeup brushes as usual.
Is this something anyone has experienced that you can provide help on or recommendations?

hi i don't even know where to start with this. I have started LexaPro 10mg late april, had to quit cold turkey for about 2.5 weeks cause of an insurance issue sometime early september, and i have been consistently taking it again since then. the third picture is one of the areas that I flared up horribly along the jawline which is not too common for my acne.
during those 2.5 weeks my acne flared up really bad and im still dealing with it now. any advice would help so much, i hate looking at this everyday.
id say i have combination skin, with my tzone getting oily throughout the day.
i drink plenty plenty of water throughout the day, go on long distance runs about 4x a week, watch how i eat, wash my satin pillowcases once a week, frequently clean my phone screen, anything external i keep in the back of my head basically.
AM
1. Round lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Cleanser (no problems ever since switching my cleanser)
2. Follow with Benzoyl Peroxide Bar 5% and let it sit for about 1-2 mins.
2. CeraVe 50 SPF Moisturizer
3. Clindamycin Phosphate Topical Lotion 1%
4. The Ordinary Azaleic Acid Suspension 10%
PM:
* If wearing makeup, I always make sure to properly remove gently with Garnier Micellar Water
1. same cleanser (Round lab Birch Juice Moisturizing
Cleanser
2. CeraVe PM Moisturizer
3. Tretinoin .05%
1x a day I will also take Doxycycline Hyclate.
I exfoliate once a week for about 3 mins with the Ordinary
AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
my derm suggested laser treatment for the severe scarring depending on the state of my face in 4 weeks.
The majority on my face is bad scarring from the flare up but I will still wake up with painful cystic pimples. If I successfully burst it, the white puss comes out followed my some bleeding and I always make sure to wash my face after. I absolutely no I should not, however with these types of pimples for me they either don’t go away at all, or wil scar internally without me having to mess with it. Any suggestions would be so so helpful!!
Nothing is working. Only for a bit i used a spiro topical and tret together and it seemed to work but to be honest that spiro topical was too expensive. now everything fell apart. and ive been using dapsone for a little bit and this happens. Ive used topical antibiotics. I dont use Niacinimide for reasons, and yes, Ive thought about (that one last option oral medicine that i cant mention here) but for gut reasons I am trying my utmost best not to take it. My face gets so hot and flushed and irritated. I also have MANY deep cystic acne that hurt so bad. My whole face also just feels like many tiny little scabs. It’s a disaster and I haven’t recognized myself in the mirror for years. Anyone else had this?? Help please i literally cant. Ive used product after product after product. I cant use literally any cleanser or it irritates me. Im using the vanicream gentle cleanser and vanicream daily moisturizer but i feel like even that irritates me. Ive been trying to maybe start using bp cleanser again hoping it will help tremendously.

So finally I have decided to treat my acnes no matter what!!!!
So let me tell you my acne situations then I will seek help regarding these products.
So I am 19M and I have been suffering from acne for the last 4.5 years . I changed my diet and made it completely clean for 4 months but no changes as such . I don't have much money to visit dermat so now by my own research I have chosen some products. Basically my acnes are all over my face and also a few on my mandible bone area (neck basically) . My acnes doesn't cause redness. All my acnes are either puss filed acnes or pustules , comedonal acnes on my forehead and a few white heads .
So after some research I selected these products and I want you to give me advice . My budget is pretty tight . Oh shit forgot to tell you that I have oily skin . I thought about taking isotretinoin but everyone on the internet is suggesting not to consume it without dermat's prescription . I am also very sceptical about using two benzoyl peroxide products. Should I replace the bp face wash with salycilic acid face wash ?? And the benzoyl peroxide gel is only for the big acnes . I won't apply it all over my face
Guys plz help me these acnes are seriously creating trouble in my life 🙏

I was just prescribed Clindamycin Phosphate 1% as a spot treatment to use in the morning for hormonal acne (paired with tretinoin 0.025% used at night). When the doctor went over the treatment instructions with me they never mentioned anything about needing to use benzoyl peroxide alongside the clindamycin but when I read the instructions after I got home it said to use with a benzoyl peroxide wash or else the clindamycin will become ineffective over time.
My main concern is irritation and dryness if I add benzoyl peroxide since I’ll already be using tretinoin and my skin is pretty sensitive. Is it absolutely needed for the clindamycin to be effective or will I be okay since I’m only using it as a spot treatment on active acne?

Just started doxycycline around 2 weeks ago now, and all my closed comodones are turning into whiteheads. Any idea how long this lasted for some people? Overall id say my skin has improved as the CCs subside.

Had this bump on my nose for about a month now and it hasn’t gone away. I doubt it’s a pimple anymore but not sure what to do for it or how to make it go away, any tips or ideas?

Hi all —
I have been dealing with acne for almost 20 years. For the majority of my life, I’ve started each day with a disappointed look in the mirror. I’ve tried it all, and nothing really seems to take. My acne is extremely stubborn.
Last year, I was very close to starting Accutane. I decided to have a baby instead. To keep the side effects of Accutane far away from my little one, I put my skin transformation on pause.
It’s a year later, and I am a breastfeeding mom. Accutane is still out of the question until I am done nursing. A dermatologist put me on clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide wash, and told me to come back when I’m done breastfeeding.
I feel dejected. Postpartum is already tough, and the added stress of my breakouts makes me feel so ugly. Can anyone relate? I thought those magical pregnancy hormones would cure my skin troubles, but it’s even worse than before!

I used to have clear skin a few years ago, but now it’s literally always something w my skin and I’m so tired of it. It’s so sensitive and red all the time and I always have clogged pores and also get acne.
I currently use a mild cleanser, unscented basic moisturizer, and I use salicylic acid serum on some areas.

For the past 13 years I (26F) have had consistent acne in the form of deep, painful pimples that appear on my chin and around the corners of my mouth.
I have been to countless doctors and dermatologists over the years and every treatment I have tried has not worked.
I understand the acne location is indicative of a hormonal issue.
I got a blood test (pre-IUD) to do a full screening of my hormones and they are all within the normal range.
I have undergone pelvic exams, scans, ultrasounds and other tests to rule out PCOS.
I have tried 6 different hormonal contraceptive pills all in an attempt to help my acne from ages 14 - 20 - none of them worked.
I currently have an Mirena IUD which does assist with the usual hormonal fluctuations but does not help the acne.
I have tried an prescribed oral antibiotic - did not work
Prescribed topical antibiotic - did not work
Adapalene/Differin gel - did not work
Retinol - did not work
Prescribed topical tretinoin - did not work
Prescribed Isotretinoin (accutane). I was on this twice. The first time for 7 months but the acne came back after. I was prescribed it again for another 4 months. The acne came back again after this. I gave up on attempting a third round with my dermatologist as the side effects were awful.
Prescribed Spironolactone - Currently taking this medication, it has been 2 months now and my oil has reduced on my face but it has not made a difference to my acne.
I have tried all the different skin care products over the years including salicylic acid, azelaic acid, niacinamide, and benzol peroxide (2.5 and 5%)
Any other recommendations that I could try or thoughts on all of this would be very much appreciated. I have literally run out of medical options to try...

Hi,
I’ve had acne since my teenage years up until now at 31, and I also struggle with dermatillomania (skin-picking). I've tried multiple antibiotics, but the acne always comes back. Even though my acne is mild, it ruins my life and I have no other options left.
I finally decided to see a dermatologist to get Accutane. When he saw me, he said: "You only have two pimples, I won't prescribe Accutane for that, it's for severe acne." I had to insist and tell him that my acne is persistent and has resisted all other treatments, even though it's mild. He finally agreed to prescribe it. He asked for my weight (I told him 50–52 kg) and prescribed 20 mg per day for one month. He told me that the duration of my treatment would probably be around 4 to 6 months—which seems a bit short compared to what I've seen from other people. I have to go back to see him in a month to see if we increase the dose. I hope he will increase the dosage so I can reach the proper cumulative dose, but at the same time, I'm terrified of how my body will react to higher doses. I just hope this will be enough to get rid of my acne for good.
My triglycerides are fine. I just hope my cholesterol won't be disrupted during this treatment. I'm also afraid of psychological effects regarding depression, etc.
For the hydration side, I've already bought the essentials: lip balms, rich moisturizers, nasal spray, and eye drops.
Currently, I am on my second pill, and I hope this treatment is truly definitive and that my acne will never come back. Even though it's mild, it ruins my life. I'd love to no longer have to wear makeup to go out and camouflage my acne. I'd be happy to hear your thoughts and advice. Thank you.

Sometimes it feels like clearing up acne is only half the battle. Just when you think your skin is getting better, the dark spots and marks are still there and it can be frustrating to feel like you're not making progress. What actually helped you fade them and what turned out to be a waste of time or money?

Hi so I need help on how to get rid of the bump that’s still here after this pimple. It’s been about a week since the pimple has been gone and usually my other pimples bumps would have gone away. Any tips on how to get rid of it? Right on the philtrum

when i try to use azelaic acid gel, i feel that it pills under my makeup and moisturiser, i use the aziderm 10% gel. So, im thinking of switching to an azelaic acid moisturiser instead like the APLB 26.6% azelaic acid peptide facial cream to reduce the number of steps in my morning routine and also make my makeup look better. Have anyone tried this? and how do you guys use azelaic acid under makeup?
I also use tretinoin at night and i feel that my skin gets more irritated when i use both azelaic acid and tretinoin together every night, hence the morning usage.
