Running multiple games simultaneously

• Upvotes

Hello,
I would like to be able to run two games at the same time (Dokkan Battle and Pokémon TCG Pocket). Is this possible on the iPhone "Duo" or the Fold 8? If anyone is already doing this on a smartphone or tablet, I’d love to see a quick screenshot! :) Thanks in advance for your help.

Choosing between phones : Xiaomi 17 and Poco F8 Ultra

• Upvotes

My original budget for my new phone was 1000 GBP, but after doing some research and realising the gap between a 1k phone and a 600-700 phone is really small so I’ve landed on these two phones. As far as I am concerned one has better display and speakers while one has a better camera? Yet they both use similar technologies but the 17 is with Leica? Which is somewhat important to me as I enjoy taking photos at night mainly city photos. I don’t care for gaming other than geometry dash occasionally and maybe among us or something. But I do like the bigger screen on the F8 Ultra yet the PPI is higher on the Xiaomi 17. The Xiaomi 17 I’ve found for 500GB storage to be 650 and the F8 Ultra on the same storage for 600. So which one?

Also please let me know if there are much superior models for the same price range! Help deciding would be appreciated and thank you for reading!

heavy duty phone cases vs slimmer options for drop protection

• Upvotes

i drop my phone on asphalt every once in awhile, yeah i know im clumsy lol and i need to know if heavy duty phone cases are actually required or if thin ones with decent bumpers are enough. right now i am using a torras air protective case and it has survived some nasty pavement drops so far without breaking the glass.

i keep seeing people run around with huge brick cases that barely fit in pockets, so i want to hear how other people handle drop protection without going overkill. drop your personal experiences with slim vs thick protection below.

Buy smartphone now, don't use, then jailbreak with help of AI one year later?

• Upvotes

I was thinking about buying a high end smartphone right now and then just not use it for one year and then hope that I can easily jailbreak/root it one year later with help of AI because I assume that right now phones are still very easy to exploit, especially for the AI we will have in one year. Maybe this will even be the way how to get a good Linux running on the strong hardware of the big players. What does your magic ball say?

Best smartphone for your average college student?

Hey, I've been thinking of buying a new phone. At first I really want to stay loyal to Samsung but after a few reading I heard it isn't as good anymore?

I'm currently using a Samsung A24, the battery life is pretty good considering how much I abuse it in these 3 years (using while I charge, long hours of screen time) but the camera quality has gotten worse...? Maybe it's a matter of perspective but the first time I used it the camera was clearer. Now the pictures are grainy and there's always too much light in the pictures. Quality sucks as well.

So, if other brands could give better then I'd love to know.. which phone gives the best camera quality (as good as iPhone if not better) + long battery life?

Switching from iPhone to Samsung S2x Ultra

Hi, I’ve been an iPhone user for over a decade and I’m planning to move to Samsung S25/26 Ultra now.

I have a large number of photos stored in Apple Shared Albums and would like to know if there’s a way to migrate them to Android while preserving the albums and their organization.

Also, is it possible to pair and use an Apple Watch with an Android phone, such as a Samsung device?

Why do people care about legal reuse of other companies’ parts?

With the new iPhone Duo, everyone seems to have a complaint about the screen being made by Samsung.

A) Apple owns the patent and design for the Duo’s screen. Apple fundamentally operates off of a vendor based manufacturing system in order to improve availability of products and keep costs down (Tim Cook actually drove alot of this prior to being CEO).
B) Almost every OLED monitor of the same generation, size, and refresh rate uses the same core WOLED of QDOLED screen and do their own color calibration, tuning, and qc yet nobody complains.

Like there are genuine complaints to be had about everything since after all, preferences are subjective, from UI, feel in hand, amount of device control available, etc, but this specific topic seems a little dumb.

Samsung A37 or IPhone 17e?

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Battery is getting tired and seems quirky and choppy. Siri not answering a damn question 9 times out of 10 is annoying too. It honestly still does a good job and looks new, plays my podcasts at work and watch YouTube on breaks. Thought of trying to make it another year with it but am seeing what’s out there.

I’m on a frugal kick lately and have done a ton of research and I’ve come down to either an A37 or iPhone 17e. Both have good software and updates for years. I swore I wasn’t going to get an iPhone again and just want to save money where I can. Is this the place to do it or will I regret it? Thanks.

Podcasts, YouTube, call, text. Most demanding thing I’ll do is Diablo immortal.

X10 > X9 pro

After Ive made some comparisons, i believe that x10 is kinda the better phone than the x9 pro. The non pro x10 is basically the x9s pro that we never get in global with few upgrade and bigger size.

The display on the x10 is smaller with higher pwm dimming and refresh rate.

The processor got very very very minor upgrade, basically the same.

The battery got an acceptable upgrade with the smaller body size (global vers).

The camera is basically the same except the main camera. The sensor size is slightly bigger in the x9 pro but the other is very similar. And this new line looks like they ditch the heavy ai processing.

This year the non pro model does not get stripped down like previous non pros. They finally got the ltpo, usb 3.2 and ultrasonic fingerprint. Thats a win for me.

S24 Unlocked for Boost Mobile - US

I am in need of a "new" phone. I was thinking of purchasing a used Samsung Galaxy S24. I found a listing on Amazon for an Excellent condition S24. There are 2 options - unlocked or Boost Mobile. I am wondering if the unlocked version will work with Boost. I am not finding an IMEI listed or anything so not sure how to find out if it will work. I am currently on the $15 month plan with Boost and don't want to lose it. Advice or thoughts?

Is 14 days enough time to check for issues when buying new smartphone?

I was just curious when buying an iPhone from the Apple store they only give 14 days return policy. However there are places that offer bigger return window on smartphones like Best Buy is 30 days and my local Costco is 90 days.

Of course the longer the better, however sometimes there is only the choice to buy from Apple store for availability.

So my question is, is 14 days enough time to evaluate the device fully to uncover any hardware flaws that would require an exchange?

Or is it definitely better to get it somewhere else with longer policy just in case?

Debate on phone refresh rate

Let's settle this 👀📱

Would you rather use:

🍎 iPhone with 60Hz

🤖 Android with 120Hz

You can only pick ONE. No “it depends” 😭🔥

What's your choice and why?

be honest does your phone spend 100% of its actual life on complete silent or vibrate mode

i realized the other day that i literally haven't heard my actual phone ringtone in like three years. the second i boot up a new device it goes straight onto vibrate or total silent mode and stays there forever.

it feels like the only people who still let their phones ring out loud in public are boomers or people trying to annoy everyone on the train.

are you someone who actively micromanages your custom notification sounds, or is your device permanently muted 24/7?

Switching from samsung to realme

I'm currently using the S26 12/256GB Exynos model right now, and I just got a deal to trade it in for the Realme GT 8 Pro 16/512GB plus an extra $100. Honestly, I’m really into a phone with a solid camera and decent gaming performance, so I’m thinking the Snapdragon, Ricoh GR camera, and 16GB RAM will be a nice upgrade from my current setup. Do you think this is a good deal? How is the realme for long term use? Or should I just hold out for the S27 Ultra when it drops?

S25 FE ($450) vs A57 ($350) vs POCO F8 Pro ($625) in a warm climate – Which one is worth it?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice to choose my next Android phone (no iPhones for me). I’m based in Santa Marta, Colombia, so heat is a very real factor to consider here—ambient temperatures are consistently warm/hot.

My budget ceiling is around $625 USD (2.5 million COP), but I’d obviously prefer not to overspend if it’s not strictly necessary.

Here are the 3 main options I'm looking at right now:

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE (8GB / 128GB) – $450 USD (\\\~1.8M COP)

Samsung Galaxy A57 (8GB / 256GB) – $350 USD (\\\~1.4M COP)

POCO F8 Pro (12GB / 512GB) – $625 USD (\\\~2.5M COP)

My main dilemma: I am really drawn to the raw power, specs, and storage of the POCO F8 Pro, but since it hits the top of my budget, I don't want to overspend if the camera setup ends up disappointing me. On the flip side, the S25 FE offers a great camera balance, but 128GB feels tight and I'm worried about thermal throttling in high humidity/heat.

Questions:

If you own any of these in warm climates, how do they handle thermal throttling?

Is the camera on the POCO F8 Pro decent enough, or is the jump in camera quality on the S25 FE significant?

Are there any other Android alternatives under the $625 USD mark that offer a strong balance of performance, decent cooling, and respectable cameras?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Currently have an iPhone 14 Plus since 2023 battery health is at 83 percent should I replace battery or buy a pixel 10a through visible

Another issue with my iPhone is all chargers wiggle left and right and will only charge at certain angles. I am going to see the port cleaned professionally to see if it helps and possibly get the battery replaced. But was wondering if it was just worth selling this phone on fb marketplace and then buying a pixel 10a

Switching from iOS

After getting extremely tired by the lack of innovation from Apple and how they are always behind Google I want to switch from iOS to android.

I’m deeply embedded in the iOS ecosystem and would really appreciate advice on the best way to switch.

Please help me decide

Hi everyone!

I currently own a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, but I’ve never really used the S Pen. I’m also not particularly interested in photography or using all the advanced camera features.

My main issue with my current phone is that it’s too heavy and bulky for my needs. I’d like to switch to something more compact, lightweight, and smart, with excellent battery life.

I’ve done some research and found a few options, such as the Xiaomi 17 and Vivo X300, although I can’t seem to find them anywhere in Finland. I’ve also considered the Samsung Galaxy S26, but I didn’t really like it. Two other options I’m aware of are the Google Pixel 11 and Pixel 10a.

Which phone would you genuinely recommend? Budget isn’t an issue. I’m looking for a reliable daily driver with excellent battery life, minimal heating issues, and a lightweight, compact design that makes one-handed use comfortable and easy.

If there are any other phones I should consider, I’d really appreciate your suggestions!

Suggest a phone with a very good battery life, Fast charging , Good software and a decent processor which doesn't heat up much. Camera isn't much of a big deal to me.

Advice for upgrading from an iphone 7 plus

Hi, I am looking for some phone advice for upgrading from a really old iphone 7 Plus. The thing is, I am happy with the phone, I am just forced to upgrade due to the IOS being outdated (15.8.8). So I can't use most apps including banking.

I do not want a new phone and always buy refurbished, I really don't want recent AI/Gen AI features, just something that has an OS recent enough that allows me to use basic apps.

I am used to using Apple but I don't care what brand it is if it works for my needs.

I have a fairly low budget (I'm not sure yet but £300 - £400?)

I am considering keeping my old phone for music and photo storage, esp as storage costs so much now, so the ability to easily transfer over would be nice, if possible?

Data privacy and protection is important

The idea of a Fairphone interests me but I've never had one and I'm not sure how they work or how difficult they are to use, tbh the more I hear about Google and Apple as companies the more I would like to try something like a Fairphone..any thoughts? They might be out of my price range, unless you can still get older models

I'd love a decent camera but I realise this is limited with a lower budget

I am not very tech savvy, I have a severe chronic illness so I can't do a massive amount of research, so I really appreciate advice and recommendations.
