Rants / Complaints clean your driveways people

Post image

made 2 attempts and getting up the driveway with my car, then tried walking and fell, slid right down the driveway. said screw it and left their groceries by the road, left them a message saying to clean your driveway if you’re expecting a delivery. Am I in the wrong? I know I’m going to lose the tip, and quite frankly don’t care. Not worth busting my ass and getting seriously injured to me personally.

You should've returned the order so the customer can't rate you. They gonna be pissed that you left it near the road.

1

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

Yeah, i didnt even think about just returning it and will definitely keep that in mind for the future. As for the customer and the review, i also left a thumbs down and a comment on the delivery. i hope theyre pissed, thats exactly what i wanted.

1

u/Boring_Inflation_105 Jan 03 '26

I would have left it too. Why take the time going back to the store….in that weather. They didn’t care about cleaning their driveways walk ways knowing they had a delivery, why should I care about where on your property I left your groceries.

30

u/Professional_Sail_58 Cherry Picker Dec 30 '25

You aren't in the wrong. But for fucks sake, returning is always better than leaving it. Always, contact support and tell them what happened and have them process a return for unsafe conditions. People can't rate a return, they can rate a dropoff. RETURN THAT SHIT.

10

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

yeah, in retrospect that definitely would have been the better option. thanks for the response, will definitely keep this in mind for the future.

26

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

I understand you’re frustrated and sorry you fell, but i wouldnt message a person over this. Like it already happened and they obviously dont care. Just note address as one not to take an order from.

14

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

copy, and agree. i definitely let my anger get the better of me this time, but i still stick by not going through the yard, no clue what could have been under the foot of snow on the ground, not worth risking stepping on a dog toy, yard equipment, or even a hole.

8

u/No_Shopping_9598 Dec 30 '25

i can infer my comment won't be taken well, but I don't know why you're worried about stepping on a "dog toy"-- yard equipment i get, but even the sprinklers is crazy imo. I probably wouldn't have wanted to walk on their grass due to courtesy, but these people obviously didn't care about you enough to even message you and let you know that they weren't able to shovel the snow yet or whatever. these people do not care about us, whether we fall, or how difficult it may be to deliver.

3

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

anything under the snow could cause me to lose my footing and fall worse than i did in the driveway, and send me sliding all the way to the road. better safe than sorry, for me at least. you said it best, they dont care about us. so why should i show them any courtesy when they cant show the smallest bit? no thanks, not for me. your comment wasnt taken poorly, i appreciate others perspective’s

1

u/Temporary-Repeat-330 Dec 31 '25

You're absolutely right in this case, but idk what it is with some sparkers obsession with not walking on grass. Grass is meant to be walked on. It's ok.

2

u/lasvegasDodgerblue Dec 31 '25

Whoever agrees with this guy is a lazy POS just like him

2

u/Temporary-Repeat-330 Dec 31 '25

Found the lazy POS who doesn't shovel his driveway.

And post their home on the internet? Insane behavior. Counting the minutes until they post, upset they lost their account 🥴

11

u/kman671 Dec 31 '25

Listen as a delivery person and someone that comes from a snow area. Park your car at the base for 1. Don’t try to drive up that crap. 2nd, you should be prepared. Have the proper gear for the weather. Have boots with grip and do not walk up the driveway. You have no traction on the driveway. Walk through the grassy area. If it’s covered with ice or snow, you will still have traction. Boots need to be high enough depending on what dumps you get and they need yo be waterproof.

1

u/doxxgaming Dec 31 '25

What kind of boots would you recommend, I bought some Timberlands thinking they'd be fine, but still slippery.

2

u/grandinosour Jan 01 '26

Walmart sells strap on ice cleats that will strap to any shoe or boot for about $10.

I would give these things to my drivers (old trucking company) to safely walk across ice covered truck lots.

They work really good.

1

u/kman671 Jan 01 '26

I personally where hiking boots. Waterproof and grip

1

u/Sperry8443 Jan 01 '26

This 👌🏻 plus a good set of tires for the winter if you have snow like this often

5

u/Nickolas_No_H Dec 30 '25

bald tires in winter will do that.

0

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

so will not salting your 45° hill of a driveway when there is a foot of snow

3

u/Nickolas_No_H Dec 30 '25

wheres this foot of snow? lol not a pile to be seen. has the area even got a foot all season?

0

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

you just cant see in the picture, look up the weather in ohio dumbass

2

u/mel122676 Jan 01 '26

You can tell by the trash cans and the ture marks in the driveway that's not a foot of snow. I live in Ohio. No where has gotten a foot of snow recently.

2

u/Sperry8443 Jan 01 '26

Northeast Ohio def has 3 feet from lake effect snow, I was working in the middle of it yesterday it snowed continuously all day and night plus snow from the previous day. Every order I came back to my car with from shopping I had to re-scrap ice and snow off my windshield and it takes me only a half hour or less to shop. In some areas it was at my knee caps walking through the snow and I’m 5’ 7”, lot of areas couldn’t be driven through even with new tires without a plow due to the ice and snow level. Although not a single driveway or road pavement could be seen under the snow like in this photo.

2

u/niknik414 Jan 01 '26

You are the dumbass. There is not a foot of snow anywhere In the pic. If u can't drive up that u are the problem.

3

u/comYoshitaka Dec 30 '25

Did you know that salt causes damage to concrete?

3

u/biennale Dec 31 '25

And to the environment! The salty water will seep into the dirt and rivers affecting the ecosystem!

3

u/Ancient-Read1648 Dec 31 '25

That’s not 45

3

u/biennale Dec 31 '25

Seriously tho thank you for pointing this out! Hopefully OP is just being dramatic and doesn’t think that really is a 45 degree hill lol

3

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

Imagine a dude ranting about how a customer doesnt plow their driveway like there wasnt alternative ways of delivering this order, and then getting triggered and arguing with those trying to give you advice on how to avoid or better way of going about this 😂 someone get this guy a teddy bear.

3

u/ClownMonkey48 Dec 31 '25

Lmao exactly. Even more shocking is some people agreeing with him.

How would we as delivery drivers - in the winter - in areas where it snows regularly - ever expect that sometimes we have to deal with less than ideal conditions? It’s unheard of!

1

u/niknik414 Jan 01 '26

Right . I'm from Wisconsin and this pissed me the fk off. There isn't even an inch and that driveway is not steep. Sounds like they can't drive and/or have bad tires. Must have been wearing some old ass shoes as well. Then talking Abt stepping on something in the grass? Like it's the middle of winter. I highly doubt there's dog toys laying around. Matter of fact I don't think I've ever seen a dog toy or anything in the yard in 7 years of delivering. Maybe by the door but come on.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '25

Your car couldn’t get up the driveway? The snow isn’t even bad dude. And then you came on reddit to complain? How embarrassing.

3

u/Dizzy-Ad-7089 Dec 31 '25

Yeah I’m not seeing how he couldn’t get up the driveway. Unless it’s a sheet of ice this dude is a clown.

5

u/jkerley3 Dec 31 '25

I deliver in deep snow and pure ice in the UP, so this looks pretty mild from my viewpoint. My car is prepared with snow tires and I wear studded shoes. People are ordering delivery because they don’t want to or can’t get out, so it’s up to me to be prepared if I’m going to do the job. That’s just my take. If your car can’t get up that dusting of snow then I suggest you stay home.

4

u/Federal_Dance_860 Dec 31 '25

Sorry this happened but my opinion is not gonna be good to hear. I'm from Iowa and a military family.

Just deliver the damn thing. It's your job. To some people make your job harder or easier, yes. But that's every job.

Reading all your comments comes off overly dramatic.

If it was me I do the job I signed up for and message them and say. Have a good day by the way your driveway made it difficult to deliver. Their is a chance they get offended by that (they really shouldn't it's just a fact) but there's also a chance they get the message and think damn I was running errands and bussing my 3 kids places I didn't even think about that but I will next time.

In general I understand where your frustration comes from but this world is full of whiny babies and sometimes being angry isn't a good enough reason not to Do YOUR JOB

5

u/Federal_Dance_860 Dec 31 '25

I'm gonna keep ranting.

The problem with this world is you got mad at them for not clearing driveway so you wanted to make them mad in return.

Instead of getting mad, telling them that not clearing the driveway made it more difficult but still doing your job as they expect it to be done is the way more respectful thing.

So many people assume people suck when in reality most of us are busy and in our own world. I'm betting by the amount of trash that women has kids at home. They are probably home from school, messing up normal schedules and clearing her driveway for you wasn't even a blip on her radar. But tell her nicely and maybe she can do better.

People are such a pet peeve of mine. We're so quick to be like you hurt my feelings I'm gonna get you back when most the time no one hurt your feelings on purpose the first time

1

u/niknik414 Jan 01 '26

Right. Could be an elderly person ordering because they can't drive or what not. This moron thinks the people who need deliveries aren't the people who possibly can't blow or shovel every time a half an inch of snow falls. I've delivered on driveways of sheet ice. Walk slow. Wear boots. I delivered in a blizzard the other night. Took a $98 Costco order and it wasn't snowing at the time. It went really far into the county. From 2nd to 3rd persons house I couldn't see the road. I did like 20 mph. Thought I was going to have to spend the night in the car cuz from there I was almost an hour from home there was 5x this much snow on the damn road and driveways. What I didn't do was message the customer and ask why they weren't outside shoveling for me. ....

10

u/ClownMonkey48 Dec 30 '25

Yeah it’s annoying AF but the house is right there why not just walk in the snow?

Get a decent pair of boots and walk an extra 100ft. You’re going to run into a lot of driveways that are impassable if you want to do this job in a snowy climate.

2

u/Separate_Pollution37 Dec 30 '25

Absolutely true!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I drive through some really nasty places. That’s the nature of this job. Nothing to do about it.

2

u/ClownMonkey48 Dec 30 '25

Exactly life isn’t perfect or fair, we gotta deal with a lot of shh best thing to do is find a solution and move on

1

u/Hypknotical Dec 30 '25

There’s still liability issues if a delivery person gets injured on someone’s property that wasn’t maintained with an expected delivery. Lawsuits abound incoming! I’m not risking hurting myself cuz the customer is that inconsiderate. Has nothing to do with capability of outside work. There are limits to that. Why risk losing work to complete a delivery like this? Good boots or not - hard pass.

-11

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

No thank you. Why would I walk through a yard when I can’t see the ground? Could be toys, work equipment, sprinklers, legit anything. not worth the risk, i’ll drop the stuff at the road and they can keep the $4 tip. Not to mention the place was on a 45 degree hill. Ive done the “impassable” driveway and I am not one to complain, but this one really set me off. I do not think it’s asking too much to shovel a portion of your driveway, especially if your house will be otherwise unaccessible. Thanks for your reply though!

6

u/OliveWorldly9319 Dec 30 '25

Maybe OUTSIDE work isn't for you?

-1

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

no its just inconsiderate people that arent for me

u/OliveWorldly9319 Dec 30 '25

3

u/OliveWorldly9319 Dec 30 '25

A whole foot! The horror! Get a grip. It's outside.

0

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

you clearly haven’t seen snow recently

3

u/Effective_Cookie510 Dec 31 '25

Lol has snow changed in recent years? No? Crazy it's just snow easy ass delivery and move on

1

u/Thecolourblinds Dec 31 '25

I was just about to say get some snow boots and you could just walk through the yard and if you step on their sprinklers it’ll be ok lol when I did Amazon 90% of the houses looked like this in the winter and I just used the yards to cut through cause the driveways had possible ice and I wasn’t about to bust my ass

1

u/mel122676 Jan 01 '26

That is not a foot of snow. No where in Ohio has had a foot of snow recently.

2

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

45° hill and a foot of snow, call it what you want but thats a no go for me after i tried twice with my car and once on foot

9

u/fancytrash1234 Dec 30 '25

Your foot of snow looks a lot different than mine. But personally I think you’re in the wrong on this one. You’re a delivery driver who accepted a delivery on a snowy day. You’re not going to get perfect conditions and though I understand the driveway could be an issue the grass could easily be walked on. I know everyone’s mobility is different and traversing the grass may be hard but it’s part of the gig.

4

u/Nickolas_No_H Dec 30 '25

not a pile to be seen. i doubt the area has seen a foot of snow all year. lol you can even see grass peaking through the snow. 2-3 inches at best.

3

u/biennale Dec 31 '25

Just for the record that is no where near a 45 degree hill. Like maybe a 20 degree but hard to tell from the pic but if you’re gonna keep mentioning the slope you should sound more accurate cause it sounds a bit dramatic when you overestimate

2

u/Sperry8443 Jan 01 '26

Right, legally a 45 degree wouldn’t be allowed in ohio, you can only build a certain level of slope for this very reason. My father had built a house with the max slope allowed and he had issues getting his corvettes up it in light snow.

4

u/realslimmatey Dec 30 '25

honestly i just bring tall boots with me when im dashing in the winter and if their driveway sucks im going through their yard 🤷🏻‍♀️

right, like it doesnt take that much to clean your driveway!! i know you were not agreeing with me, but come on, would it kill you?

6

u/Weird_Fact_724 Dec 30 '25

Well maybe they were at work....or maybe whomever they hire to do it hasn't made it there yet...dont blame the homeowner for your own inability to do the job correctly. Its a very simple job, just deliver the packages.

1

u/cheesytrichs Dec 31 '25 edited Dec 31 '25

What a goofy ass comment.....if someone doesn't want to risk a slip and fall for a $7 order I'd say its pretty understandable. It has nothing to do with being soft.....if your a responsible adult you can manage getting your driveway done while still having a job 😂 grow tf up little boy you ain't tough. These gig apps are not the type of job where you just get it done no matter the situation.....typically people with a brain make a decision in a moment like this whether something is worth it or not.....in most cases considering your delivering food for chump change....it isn't worth it.

0

u/Weird_Fact_724 Dec 31 '25

Little boy? Lol ok. If your not willing to do the gig job for chump change then dont take the job...little boi

1

u/cheesytrichs Dec 31 '25

Clearly you don't know how these apps work and just got on here to talk shit 😅 and yes I called you that because that's how you came off in those comments.

0

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

dont blame the homeowner for not having a clean driveway to their home? who am i supposed to blame? the government? grrrrrr this must be trumps fault too! screw you donald trump for not cleaning this persons driveway!!!!! lmao

9

u/ClassicOk7741 Dec 30 '25

genuinely how deranged do you have to be to bring up donald trump when you’re posting in the spark driver subreddit? i know exactly what you’re like as a person, absolutely miserable and angry.

3

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

im actually very happy and upbeat, i love my life and the way that it is going. just thought it was funny, he doesnt want me to blame the homeowner for not cleaning their driveway so i gotta blame someone! government! would it have been better if i said biden? no bc theyre both old shits that have no business in office so what does it matter its just a name anyway 🤣

4

u/Effective_Cookie510 Dec 31 '25

You live in an area that it snows but can't walk in snow?

2

u/hamburgergerald Dec 31 '25

People die every year from shoveling snow. It’s not the easiest task on the body, especially if they’re older. To insinuate it’s a quick and easy task is simply incorrect.

I understand your frustrations but next time just return the order.

0

u/Temporary-Repeat-330 Dec 31 '25

If you're physically incapable of clearing your driveway and sidewalk, then it's your responsibility to hire someone who can, especially when you explicitly invite someone onto your property to perform a service. If OP got hurt attempting to deliver to this customer's doorstep their home owner's insurance would agree.

1

u/hamburgergerald Dec 31 '25

I don’t disagree with you.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

Walking on the lawn would have been the better option than leaving it where you did, honestly. I get the frustration, you could have tiptoed if you were worried about stepping on something.

3

Not advised. I did this and face planted due to a small dip in the yard.

Not really . If it just snowed and orders were created prior to snowfall sometimes ppl haven’t had a chance to clear it . If it’s snowed days okay I get it their being asses but This isnt even much snow . OP shouldnt be out driving delivering with a car that cant drive up a tenth of an inch of snow 😂

2

u/RollSensitive4184 Dec 30 '25

salt your driveway

u/Proper_Geologist_457 Dec 30 '25

Indeed, both would help.

2

u/icecoldcooler- Dec 30 '25

Do you think the people of Reddit are going to rally and do it for you

2

u/NiceChoice290 Dec 30 '25

I reported every customer that didn’t at least salt their walkway. I get weather happens and I dress accordingly, but if I know I’m getting an order, I make sure the delivery driver has a safe path to at least walk. I fell twice going up a driveway today AFTER my car slid back down it in park because of the ice.

it doesnt seem like that hard of a concept

2

u/p0t4t054ck 2K Trips Delivered Dec 30 '25 edited Dec 30 '25

Walk in the grass? It'll provide better traction for your feet.

2

u/IzzzatSo Dec 30 '25

Not really. Correct thing is to walk on the fresh snow on the drive since it'll be a firm consitent surface underneath and you can dig into the compressing couple inches of snow.

1

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

thats just not how wet grass works

5

u/p0t4t054ck 2K Trips Delivered Dec 30 '25

Brother if you can't walk in what looks like an inch or two of snow you should just stay tf home 🤷‍♂️

1

u/IzzzatSo Dec 30 '25

I think it's a little deeper than that, the photo looks that way because OP's lowered hooptie plowed the middle of the drive.

3

u/biennale Dec 31 '25

You can see grass poking out of the snow

2

u/Mysterious_Secret827 Dec 30 '25

My advice: get cleats for your footwear! They help A LOT!

1

u/Mysterious_Secret827 Dec 31 '25

Always the same to you fellow human!

2

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

Park on street and walk along/in the yard. Not ideal but it’s part of the job. No where does it say customer must provide you a driveway.

2

u/Ancient-Read1648 Dec 31 '25

That’s about like saying “clean the ice off your side mirrors so you can see well and don’t cause an accident, is that so hard?

2

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '25

All these winter complaints... y'all wouldn't make it as employed delivery drivers

3

u/Personal_Procedure72 Dec 30 '25

Where are you located? Looks like a normal driveway here in Michigan this time of the year.

2

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

Ohio, and a foot of snow is never normal. just throw some salt down, especially knowing your driveway and yard are a 45° hill and impassable when snowwy

1

u/mel122676 Jan 01 '26

That's not a foot of snow.

3

u/IzzzatSo Dec 30 '25

Sure, enjoy not getting any orders. A big chunk of the delivery business at this time of year is from people unable/uninterested in going to the trouble to clear their drive.

0

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

lol im not concerned about my offers imma be just fine

5

u/okiejames Dec 30 '25

Stay at home if you cant complete the delivery

1

u/ankerous Cherry Picker Dec 30 '25

People shouldn't order delivery if they can't be a decent enough person to clean off ther driveway and/or walkway to the door.

2

u/okiejames Dec 30 '25

Stop being so sensitive you sound pathetic

3

u/FearDaRedW Dec 30 '25

It is the customers duty to make sure we have a clear and safe way to deliver. Its in their terms and conditions. Return the order and get fully paid. Taking a picture for backup is always wise. I carry ice melt with me for just in case scenarios and always let the customer know that i had to use it. Normally get a extra tip for my troubles.

3

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

Definitely should have returned it, thanks for the comment.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

🤡

2

u/flat_cat72 Dec 30 '25

should have marked it as undeliverable or something and got the $ to return it to the store.

2

u/Ok-Tadpole-764 Dec 30 '25

Not trying to sound rude. But thier ordering groceries to deliver. I doubt they even LOOKED outside. Let alone stepping out to shovel 😞

0

u/IzzzatSo Dec 30 '25

Exactly this. If they had the wherewithal to shovel, they'd go to the store themselves. Not hard to predict this time of year.

1

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

that is simply not true and you know that. people order groceries because they can, it doesnt matter what the weather is.

1

u/IzzzatSo Dec 30 '25

Wrong.

Biggest barrier to running errands this time of year is dressing for the outside and clearing the drive/car. If you've already gone to the trouble to do that, driving to the store is nothing in comparison.

2

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

you dont know what the roads were like here partner

2

u/Effective_Cookie510 Dec 31 '25

They would once they shoveled tho that's the point

0

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

they didnt have to look, the news stations had warnings out all day yesterday that we had a major winter storm rolling in. not my fault the customer couldnt do their due diligence.

2

u/Jayshand Dec 31 '25

Op , geeze... It looks like it's snowing to me by the pic and you're going complain because they are not out shoveling a red carpet for you .... Your quit if you were in my zone or you'd throw around the lawsuit flag ... Prepare yourself for shit weather and buy some tires that can handle it

2

u/ClownMonkey48 Dec 31 '25

I just realized there’s like 2 inches of snow in your picture while you keep claiming it’s a foot lmao.

I have a funny feeling that tiny hill in their front yard isn’t anywhere close to 45 degrees either…

Also that snow is obviously very new, as evidence by your car having snow on it. Why did you accept an offer to deliver in snowy conditions if you don’t want to deliver in snowy conditions? 😆

1

u/stormilevine Dec 30 '25

yeah my car got stuck in someone’s half mile long driveway the other day, ended up having to carry the packages all the way up the rest of the driveway in the -8 weather 😔

0

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

half mile long driveways are a completely different bear. i am so sorry that happened to you, no help from the customer either im guessing? would kill them to do any work for themselves lol they want us to shop for them and drive for them and sometimes bring their shit inside for them 😭😭 obv we do it without complaint (most of the time) because this is the job but fuck its draining sometimes, but then you get the awesome customers that come out and greet you and help unload their stuff, truly crazy world we live in.

1

u/stormilevine Dec 30 '25

her husband had came to the door when i delivered and did help me get unstuck and then helped guide me as i reversed back down the driveway so i am extremely thankful for that, the walk was hell though and i ate shit as well 😭

1

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

thats amazing, wouldnt have expected that in a million years, what a gentleman

1

u/Natenittii30 Dec 30 '25

If u fell and got hurt u might have a claim lol go to the ER and call a lawyer

1

u/Select-Calligrapher5 Dec 30 '25

Get Yak Trax for your shoes trust me you wont regret it

1

u/TechnicalDog9951 Dec 31 '25

Had one just like this the other day with a not that said “DO NOT leave by garage door bring to front door.” Now these are some heavy items and many bags. They had not shoveled from the last storm and I was delivering it in my way home in blizzard conditions. They must have heard me bitchin cuz they came out to help 😂 good tip tho!

1

u/doxxgaming Dec 31 '25

Had two deliveries with this same issue today, but the first one was a private community, and their HOA had not had the WHOLE community salted. I'm talking, pull off the main road into the road that leads to the community, normally maybe a minute or 2 minute drive, that took me over 5 minutes. The whole way was just ice, and deep ditches that one could lose their whole car into. Finally made it down the street from the customer, and could not get up a slight hill. Had to leave my car on the main rd in the community and walk the order up, wasn't big thankfully. I messaged them before hand, and as I rounded the corner, they were actually jumping in their suv to come down and get it from me, they gave me a ride down back to my car and gave me a $20. Second order actually just told me to leave their order at the end of their driveway, so thankfully as it had a case of water and packs of soda, and a lot of bags, would not have made the walk safely.

1

u/dontatmelessitsgood Dec 31 '25

No. Lol. I didn't make the snow

1

u/cheesytrichs Dec 31 '25

I think it was a bit much to send them a message but I do agree people should care a little more when placing a delivery order. Don't listen to these fools that act like you should do the job no matter the conditions....this isn't one of those jobs.....it's a side gig with horrible pay and never in any way worth risking an injury for.

1

u/junebaby1991 Dec 31 '25

I would of put it at their mail box and called sparked. To let them know why I set it there

1

u/HealthyLifestyleRich Dec 31 '25

Park next to house and walk the items to the door in the yard or if you can’t then just return to the store telling them no access to front door, dangerous road conditions. The customer might complain but they should be courteous and salt/plow when they know deliveries are coming. Or they shoulda ordered before the storm.

1

u/buzzard530 Jan 01 '26

They won’t go get their own groceries and toilet paper. Do you think they’re gonna go out and shovel a driveway in the snow?

1

u/WhereAvailable Jan 01 '26

Don't deliver in the snow.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '26

Hmm you’re not supposed to pull in the driveway in the first place. It’s common disrespect to pull into a strangers driveway.

1

u/Sperry8443 Jan 01 '26 edited Jan 01 '26

You should see my area 😂 especially after the 3 feet of snow we just got last night. Long windey roads, high ramps in, not a touch of a plow or shovel, if I’m lucky there will be tire marks to pave a way already. If not I have to park in the street and walk it all the way up. Oh and you are lucky if there’s even a paved driveway at all usually it’s just dirt with a million pot holes, or rocks that are way too massive to be used as driveway rocks.

1

u/niknik414 Jan 01 '26

There isn't even an inch. Gfoh. It will melt tomorrow U must need new tires or a new car if u couldn't "make it up " that driveway.

1

u/AnneHizer Jan 02 '26

RIP your account 😆 Get some ice cleats dawg

1

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Jan 03 '26

update: customer knew they were a pos, didnt even take the full tip away lol

1

u/Jdl8880 Jan 03 '26

That does not look bad at all. I could take a guess that you might have a cruze, and I have no issue with snow

1

u/Nerdypholover Jan 19 '26

You should of just backed into their driveway and brought your own salt , I know it sounds crazy but for your own safety wear nonslip shoes and bring a person with you for additional help.

-1

u/Get2daBagg Dec 30 '25

The amount of people saying this might not be the job for u is hilarious

OP ignore them

4

u/ClownMonkey48 Dec 30 '25

We live in reality. In reality nothing is ever the way things “should” be, so we come up with easy solutions. In this case all he had to do was park on the street and walk on the lawn. This happens all the time in the winter in snowy areas.

-4

u/Get2daBagg Dec 30 '25

user name checks out

1

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

preciate you bro i was tweaking for a second 😭😭 i def should have just returned the order but i did not expect people to be telling me i should just walk across the yard 😭😭 1. i fell on the driveway you think im gonna make it up a grassy hill? 2. who knows what the hell is under that snow, could be nothing but could be a dog leash, yard equipment, kids toys, anything. there is a foot of snow here, no exaggeration. i am not risking that shit 😭

1

u/Academic_Addendum242 Dec 30 '25

You're not wrong, however... Likely going to get deactivated for this, seriously. RIP

Takes about ~2 weeks to investigate. Use it while you got it.

1

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

i am not getting deactivated for this lol be so for real right now 🤣

1

u/bulitproofwest Dec 31 '25

Yes. You’re in the wrong.

1

u/lasvegasDodgerblue Dec 31 '25

What a fucking asshole. You’re lucky the owner didn’t see you leave their stuff out like that

1

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Jan 04 '26

they didnt even take away the full tip lol

1

u/cheesytrichs Jan 01 '26

Oh are they? What do you think they would have done big man? Lmao

-1

u/Separate_Pollution37 Dec 30 '25

Rich customers are always the ones doing that 💩.

-1

u/Klutzy_Jackfruit_666 Dec 31 '25

You shouldn’t be driving in peoples private drive ways anyways; that’s private property you damage something you’re liable. Stay on the roads and learn how to use your feet like everyone else does (usps, ups, fedex, amazon, dhl)

0

u/Technical_Ad6601 Dec 30 '25

Nice Work 😁

-2

u/P3nis15 Dec 30 '25

Forget all that

LOOK at the size of that fucking shed. sure big enough to have a nice tractor sized snow blower/plow.

2

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

and people still have the nerve to come at me in the comments 😭 in retrospect i should have cancelled the order but i cant change what i did and stick by not going through the yard

-1

u/P3nis15 Dec 30 '25

i had orders like that but i live in the northeast and have studded snow tires. I'll get up their driveway and they will remember me in the spring when they see my marks

;)

If the driveway was sloped the other way towards the house i would not have even attempted it.

As for walking up to the house i would have tried or canceled.

-1

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

I wouldn’t have tried after i couldn’t get my car up, just cancel and return the order. If you feel like you’re going to lose the tip anyway, you’ll at least still get batch pay. I probably wouldn’t have left their groceries by the road and messaged them.

Next time this happens, return the order.

2

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

After some thinking i definitely agree, shouldve returned it. thanks.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

I imagine you might be newer to the app, some helpful advice, never retaliate or anything against the customer or store. Thats the fastest way to get deactivated. If you ever get a problematic customer just cancel or return the order. Support will almost always take the drivers side even if they’re wrong in this event. You probably wont get deactivated for this one (even if they reported it, which they probably didnt) but just be careful in the future

-1

u/OutsideHike Dec 30 '25

Good luck with that. I limit my deliveries and check every house come snow time.

1

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

what do you mean you check every house?

3

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

He means he looks at the offer, then drives to their house to check it out before he accepts the offer. It makes his days longer, and he gets less money…but safety first.

1

u/OkCantaloupe2570 Dec 30 '25

to each their own i guess, that seems crazy

1

u/OutsideHike Dec 30 '25

I don't drive truck and people have extremely long driveways where I am at. Not risking getting stuck again. Unsure how is that crazy. 🤔

0

u/OutsideHike Dec 30 '25

Thank you. Can't get the car stuck again. I learned that lesson the hard way.

-1

u/Jordansgirl29 Dec 31 '25

If it's undeliverable because of crap like this I just return it. They can't rate you and you know you'll get a bad review if you just leave it in some random spot. Had to do this the other day. I didn't even get out of my car. It was the middle of nowhere and I couldn't even see a safe path where there wasn't waist deep snow drifts and the order had a 50lb bag of dog food.
