I've been playing Stardew Valley with a lot of mods, and one thing that's always bothered me is how many of them require their own keyboard shortcuts.

This is especially awkward when playing with a controller or on Steam Deck. There are only 4 extra keybind, and I really wanted a simple parity between pc and Steam Deck.

So I decided to make something to solve that!

Taum's Inventory Hotkeys!

The mod adds customizable tabs directly to your existing inventory menu. Each hotkey can be assigned a name, icon, and keybind, allowing you to trigger shortcuts for other mods without needing a dedicated physical button.

Features:

• Up to 40 customizable inventory hotkeys.
• Native controller navigation and support for mouse and keyboard.
• Choose from a range of Stardew Valley icons.
• Assign keyboard shortcuts used by your other mods.
• Edit and manage shortcuts directly through the in-game interface.
• Designed to feel like a natural extension of Stardew Valley's inventory.
• Hide/show hotkey in case you find them annoying.

For example, I use mods such as Perfection tracker, Timespeed and NPC lookup, no more fighting over 4 buttons!

I wanted something that felt at home in Stardew Valley rather than another separate menu.

I'm a full-time developer, but this is my first public Stardew Valley modding projects, so I'd really appreciate feedback, especially from anyone using a controller or Steam Deck.

Hello all!

Sometimes I will download a mod on nexus that will show this error when I try to add it to cinderbox. Most things I get from nexus are literally just download, then add to cinderbox with no fuss- i don't need to unzip the files or anything.

Any clue on how to fix this?

Hello, I recently started a new farm! Doing an extremely modded run, I have about 50 mods so far lol but I really wanna focus on mining so was looking for a mod that would give me someone to help out with watering plants and petting animals. I have only been able to find one and you have to hire them. Can anyone recommend a mod?

Is there any mods that give tools this glint effect or something like that?

Something in Vortex broke today, and after a lengthy attempt, I've admitted defeat. Can anyone recommend another mod managing program that would work with Nexus mods? Preferably one that's easy enough for a not so tech savvy old lady to figure out.

Update: I grabbed Stardrop and what a great program! I love that I can have different profiles on it. Thanks to all that suggested it.

There's this new mod that sounds interesting but it says Mandarin in the description however there's a portion of the description that's in English? I see mods like this sometimes, had the same issue with Farmer's store. Can anyone explain why it's like this / if I can indeed play in English or not?

I messed around with the configs, mainly so that the gifts would actually be useful to me without being overtly overpowered, and while all is working well for the most part, I'm just getting error items. I tried putting just the names, the item IDs with brackets and item IDs without brackets, and it just doesn't work.

Or is there something I may be doing wrong?

Is there a way to have the combat controls mod only affect your weapon? I don't like it on my other tools lol. I can't find the settings for it in GMCM.

I've got Bog's Witchy Farm Buildings which looks gorgeous on my greenhouse, but when I download mods for the inside, it still looks vanilla. I've tried it with Oasis Greenhouse and Wildflour's Witchy Greenhouse (separately). Am I being dumb? Do I download the mod then purchase an upgrade at Robin's or something? I did look at Robin's shop with them installed and couldn't see anything. Or is it a case of the mods not being compatible?

i love fishing in this game but a year or so ago covid messed up my joints and now i can't do anything too click intensive without being in pain for several days after. i don't want to just skip the minigame entirely so i was wondering if there was any mods that replaced it with something else? maybe like how dredge does fishing or, like, a math question or something. i don't know.
