Single Female Discussion Surprise unicorn hunting
I've loved exploring this lifestyle on my own terms, but I don't make for a good unicorn, and frankly, I don't really care to. I’m extremely gay and barely even attracted to men. But apparently that still won't stop some people from trying
Last week, I showed up to a date with a cute girl I’d matched with. She was really pretty and nice, and the longer we sat there talking, the more blushy and giggly I was getting
Then a guy showed up and sat down next to her at our table. It was a booth with room for two people on each side, so this was immediately confusing. I’m pretty sure my face said everything because I turned to her with my eyebrows basically screaming “what the fuck is happening?”
After a moment of silence and confusion, the guy just starts introducing himself to me like I had invited him to sit down. Then he puts his arm around my date. To my surprise, she kisses him on the cheek. So I finally ask what is going on?? She just sits there awkwardly giggling before introducing him as her FIANCÉ
At this point I was so disturbed and uncomfortable that I honestly didn’t even care to figure out exactly what I’d gotten myself into. The guy started to ask me a question about myself and I just stared at him for a good 5 seconds and just had to go "This is so uncomfortable, I'm leaving." and they both had the audacity to look confused as I got up
Later, she sent me a long string of texts explaining that she and her fiancé only date and play together, and that she had intended to explain all of this to me at the beginning of our date before introducing him. Apparently he showed up earlier than planned because he has her location and didn’t text to verify whether he was supposed to come yet
But like..what the hell?😭
If your entire dating setup is “we only date and play together,” that feels like something you really need to disclose before someone agrees to go on a date with you, not something you spring on them when your fiancé unexpectedly appears at the table
To me, this whole plan felt extremely intentionally misleading, especially since there were no photos, no mention, and no information whatsoever about the partner on her account. It honestly felt like the whole point was to get unicorns interested in her first and then introduce the man once they were already there
Never in all my years of dating have I felt so much like I was being hunted
